I missed it, but I'd be curious to hear what "Tabloid McClain" has to say about
Carr these days ? He'd probably be kissing up to him big time to land an interview about Carr's thoughts on the new HC.
One day with McClain, Carr is very marketable to other NFL franchises, the next Tabloid says he has no trade value to other teams. Hey

I did not hear Carr, but I listened to McClain.
*He was saying that Carr needs to stay in town with Kubiak this offseason so Gary could see what was in Carr's heart etc. Basically to see if he was "the guy".
*John also mentioned the Power point presentation by Kubiak during his interview, and also the video presentation done by Al Saunders who said that Carr was looking at the rush many times and not down the field. But the bottom line was that they both said his flaws were coachable and fixable.
*Talked about what Kubiak might think when he sits down to interview Bush and Young and asks them about Houston. Said Bush would say the right things, but Young would talk about his love for Houston, yada, yada, yada.
*He also mentioned that by giving Carr the 3 year option it made him more attractive to teams, and that with the cap going up trading him might not hurt that much, to paraphrase. Of course he then keeps saying that Carr will be the QB next year, kind of sending mixed signals.
*On Bush he said everyone would be excited when the regular season begins if we take him, and that with Vince Reliant Park would be packed just to see him practice.
*He said the evaluation process for the draft was just beginning and Kubiak will probably get his choice.
*Said taking a tackle in the top 5 would be crazy, his opinion here.
*He said the Texans would take a DE, TE, and OL in rounds 2 and 3, not necesarrily in that order.
That's all I can recall for now, but he is a big Vince Homer so take some of it for what it's worth. Still I enjoy listening to John.

Honestly fellas, what do you think the Texans should do? I just wanna know whats in the fans hearts, here in Denver the word is Gary will be taking a good number of the coaching staff and maybe even see what he could do to squeeze out some draft picks.
Mike Shanahan needs all the draft picks he can get right now, lol j/k buty seriously theres so many rumors going around right now. Some even speculate that Gary will be taking Jake with him and Drafting Vince Young. No offense to Vince but the Texans would be better off drafting Reggie anyway what our your thoughts?

TE, OL, and DE with 2nd and third rds. To be honest DE should be pursued in FA, the draft doesn't look that strong at that position and the Texans could target Mathis from the colts. Maybe wishful thinking, but we would weaken a divisional rival and add a great player.

I think we should restructure the contracts that need to be restructured. Bring in Nalen, Sam Brandon, and the LB(sorry forget his name). Sign Carr, Gaff, Wells to their respective deals without overpaying. I am in the sign Carr to a long term type deal that is hedged for 2 years to see what he has, this type of deal gives us flexibility and he can still make his money back. In the draft we trade down with the Jets for 1st, 2nd, 4th and next years 1st, 3rd and we send them our 1st, 6th, next years 5th. With our picks we take Mario Williams, Eric Winston, Ko Simpson, Nick Mangold, Jonathan Joseph, Mike Haas, Rocky McIntosh, and then BPA in the 7th. Then I trust Kubes and his people to turn our team into something that equates to at least 7wins next season.

Just a question though, why would you want Nalen at age 35 over Bently at age 26. I see them pretty much the same skill wise but Bently's hitting the prime part of his career. Nalen MIGHT come cheaper, but Bently would be around a lot longer.

Well maybe Carr wasn't on b/c surely someone would have caught it. They sure made it sound like they had just talked to him in the previous hour.
Like someone said above, McClain is flip-flopping a lot these days, although you can't deny the plethora of football information he has. Sometimes i wonder if talks to every single coach/asst. coach in the entire NFL on a daily basis as much as he knows. Either that or he's a damn good BS-er.

.ppt is a great tool for marketing and sales but it can be very problematic in other applications as discussed in this article. He is absolutely one of the worst sport's writers I have ever come across. Not only does he do the flip quite often, but he goes out and makes bold predictions and/or assumptions and is usually wrong: (i) Reeves was going to be our next coach; (ii) no way the Titans were willing to let Fisher go (later reports confirmed the Titans were letting Fisher shop around); and (iii) the Texans were absolutely going to draft Young.
Also, I have stopped listening to 610 because of their continued inclusion of McNair and former Mayor Lanier's wife (yes, a "known" NFL mind) discussing what is best for the Texans. Trust me, if you have not listened to that garbage, you are a better human being for it...

Obviously this is a concocted innuendo based on someone's opinion and should not be used as fact unless there is adult supervision.

I really don't read McClains stuff too often, it just isn't every good quality unbiased opinion. Going back to last years predraft stuff he wrote, he was pretty much wrong on all of it. He's a horrible beat writer for the Texans.

And about practices, you were talking about the practice facility, right? If VY were here, they'd have to practice in Reliant Stadium in order to accommodate the crowds.
