Reggie Bush interview ?

Does anybody have info on the interview with Reggie Bush? I saw this mentioned on fsn a couple of days ago and they said they were gonna air it but I didn't catch all the information I just remember it was supposed to be sunday night.

Matt Miller: First, the question on everyone’s mind…. Will you enter the 2006 NFL Draft?
Reggie Bush: Well, if I win the Heisman I’m out.

Matt Miller: If or when?
Reggie Bush: (laughs) We don’t know until its announced, Vince is a very good QB. Except for the bet we have going.

Matt Miller: What’s the bet?
Reggie Bush: If I win, he has to go on The Best Damn Sports Show with my jersey on and if he wins, I have to go on with his jersey on

I saw most of the interview last night. I'll try to give a little bit of a recap.

The interviewer Chris Myers asked Reggie Bush if it was safe to assume that he would be playing for the Houston Texans next year and Reggie responded by saying something like "Sure, I'm very excited to play for the Texans".

He said that if he didn't think he was going to be the top pick then he wouldn't have declared for the draft because going #1 is very important to him.

He said that after working with LT, he knows what he has to do to get ready for the NFL and that when he worked out with him the first time he threw up 2 or 3 times because the workout was so intense.

He said that over the next few months he is going to be working out extremely hard to make him faster and stronger for the NFL. He said that he is going to put on a few more pounds so that his body can take the beating.

He said that he is a running back first, but his favorite plays are kick/punt returns because there is no set play and he can just go out and make people miss.

He said that Vince Young is a great player and that he hopes that he has a great career for whatever team he plays for.

He really wants to get his degree because he will be the first in his family to graduate from a four year university and that he wants to set an example for his siblings and future children.

He said that it is going to be tough to go from a team that lost twice in three years to a team that will be losing a lot more, but that the losses will be motivation for him to play even better.

He said that the 2nd football game that he ever played in when he was a kid he ran for over 540 yards and I believe 7 or 8 touchdowns.

I'm sure I missed some more information from the interview but those are the parts that I remember the most. From what I got from the interview, he seems like a very humble and down to earth guy who thrives on competition and is willing to do whatever it takes to be the best. It also sounded like he was pretty confident that the Texans were going to take him.

he wouldn't come out unless he thought he was going to go #1 over all?

humble pie and money hungry huh?

In all, he has come off as pretty humble when i've heard him speak, which of course, is coached just as much as him learning his play book. He seems to be very intelligent and quite articulate.

*shrug*

he is still a USC hoser. :redtowel:

Also, word is after the Rose Bowl he went over to the UT locker room to congratulate VY and the team. He also never got pissed that he had to split time with White. Seems like a good guy.

I feel for Bush in a way. It must put a great deal of pressure on him knowing that there is such a pro-Vince sentiment down here, and that the decision to take him will be highly scrutinized if he doesn't make a big splash. Sadly, he will get much of the heat that should fall squarly on Casserly, McNair, and Kubiak.

Reggie will do fine where ever he goes.

I think his best fits would be in Philly (puke) or Minnosota, though. His game reminds me a little of Westbrook's.

I think the interview really showed alot about his understanding of football. He said they chose to run white up the middle but he's confident he could do the same, he was always talking about the team philosophy and how when he gets to whatever team he goes to, he wants to form the same kinds of bond with his team mates that he's had in previous yrs. He was asked to compare himself to other famous rb's and he said Marshall Faulk and said it was because of the way he was utilized at USC. I liked that because he didn't brag or make some kind of boastful comment, but answered the question simply. Overall I was impressed I think he was very articulate and his manner was very easy to like, damn I would hate to be the one to interview him and others and have to make a choice.

what is funny is Carr is kinda humble like that too yet gets bashed on the "leadership" role.. makes me wonder if Bush would get bashed on here also.

Bet on it. He isn't VY and that's all that matters.....to some.

Bush isn't the QB, so when the fans start looking to someone to be the leader of the offense, they are going right back to David Carr. My expectations of Carr will not shift on to Bush just because he's a newer #1 pick.

I just watched the interview on Tivo. Bush is very competitive - thank goodness. It was a good interview.
