Way to go Roy Williams!

That video is so beautiful. I can't stop watching it. Knowing how good of a tackler and safety Williams is, when I saw this live I didn't believe that it was really him that got embarassed so badly. But after they showed the replay, I took great delight in it all.

As nice as that play was, I'm pretty sure Roy won that matchup later on. When the guy doesn't get back up after a tackle that pretty much makes up for the stiff arm. Hopefully Calico is ok for the season, so the Tack fans don't use that as an excuse, but if he is hurt for the season less offense for them.

I heard where Calico will miss 8 weeks. If so that means about half of the season. Both knees were injured.

The only thing I can figure is that maybe he was jumping and landed wrong on both at the same time. I didn't see the play though.

Roy Williams tackled him from behind and dragged him down by his jersey. His right leg got caught on the turf as he fell back and he sprained his left knee as he rolled to the ground from the impact. something like that.

Such a freaky injury. You see so many of these guys get hurt by guys rolling over on their leg or ankles. Sprains take a while to heal.

Seems like Roy is adopting a bad habit of trying to grab and pull guys down instead of wrapping them up. I counted no fewer than 4 tackles by Williams that were done in this fashion. Calico was injured on a similar tackle (grabbed from behind and pulled down).

Well Roy looked silly on that play but he's allowed that sometimes because he's so good all the rest of the time.

The Cowboys need to get another corner opposite Newman. The other teams don't even throw Newman's side because that other corner is so bad. The guys they were throwing out there last night looked lost.

Edited to add: I never saw Roy tackle like that in any game against UT. Darn!

lol, that play hurt my eyes. Al and John kept showing it over and over again. Dallas really needs a corner bad. Hunter cant take the load, Thorton is the answer

Yea, he tried that on Bruener a couple a weeks ago in Houston, and he literally fell on his face while Bruerner ran out of his grasp. Williams is overrated as a DB and does not not have the cover skills or speed to play
back there - with his size he is obviously a linebacker, and Parcells basically has said this by labelling him as being a "brick short". He is vastly inferior to the sensational rookie Sean Taylor.

Well Coach Parcells said he keeps waiting for one of the guys on the squad to step up and show he can play corner. I'm skeptical that will happen and I just think they might pick up a corner off the waiver wire. It's a definite weak area.

Ummm...no.

Which would explain his 7 career INTs.

Man-to-man? Yes, he's out of his element. Playing FS he's still out of his element (he played SS in college). But yet he was still at the Pro Bowl this past year and will be again this year...and the year after...and the year after...

When Woodson moves on, Roy will/should slide over to his natural postion...and hopefully become an even more effective player.

How many people will the league allow Roy WIlliams to hurt by pulling them down by the back of their shoulder pads?

It seems like this cowgirl p.o.s has hurt more than a few players this year with that pathetic tactic. When you go 200 pounds plus and drop your weight on someone from behind you will bring them down. His tactics look like steer wrestling.

Yes I know it was T.O. but I think the league should probably take a look into this matter.

His hit wasnt anthing. TO caught the ball, Williams pulled him down from behind. That doesn't deserve a fine.

And wouldn't 4 INTs over the past 2 seasons help illustrate my point that he's playing out of position? Or was that not the intention of your sarcasm?

Now this post can be considered a really good prediction or a really bad attempt at trying to make somebody else look bad.

I gather that the Cowboys vote was a symbolic show of support for Williams.
Wonder what the motivation was for the other teams, especially the SB champs ?
