Official: Bush will enter the draft

LCOOL

Noob
Here is a quote from the LA daily news:Bush's decision is a foregone conclusion, and he already hired agent Joel Segal to represent him. He is considered a possible No. 1 pick, as the Houston Texans are believed to be interested in him and Texas quarterback Vince Young.

Ah!!!! I was hoping he would make things all easier for us and go back to the draft. I wonder what took him so long? Think he received confirmation of us picking him??

Can I ask if this means we can now interview Bush or Young???

Now that that both rb and vy will enter the draft, the Texans can comment on both of them.

Not until the NFL gives them the official list, probably early next week.

I think this is understood. Really, why would he stay.

If he stays, it would be a super- shock , but yet, would make our decision really easy.. :) - just my wishful thinking.

Just announced on the radio that he just made it official. The Texans now officially have a good dilemma on their hands.

He just metioned specifically going to the Texans. I think we already have a contract done like we did with Carr.

He did mention the Texans, so there's no truth to that junk about him not wanting to playe here. How whether we actually take him or not is another matter.

Yup VY is your guy!!!

Luckily the Texans are making the pick....and pickin Bush..

Don't be too sure about that, I got my connections..LOL

You know the Texans would not be smart to show their hand?!

VY VY VY VY VY VY :redtowel: :redtowel: :redtowel: :redtowel:

Expect to see the Texans give Carr the option and that will be your sign that the Texans are most definitely drafting Bush!

The sign the option theory is not concrete. It won't mean a thing.

So now the next important date is Feb 2: Deadline to give Carr the option.

Of course, the Texans should just make it a foregone conclusion and give him the freakin extension so that we head into the draft with a clear plan: draft OL and Defensive help.

Add to that whatever date it is that Denver gets eliminated from the playoffs so we can finally bring in our new coach, that could be before or after Feb. 2 depending on how far they go.

On the replay of the Bush conference in it's entirety ...

Reporter: "Houston does have the #1 pick, but they are at the bottom of the NFL barrel, do you mind playing for them?"

Reggie: (Smiles) "No not at all, I dont mind playing for Houston. It's a great honor to play at the next level, and if I got the opportunity to play for Houston it would be even greater."

No Eli syndrome here. He's coming to Houston... deal with it!

Reggie is not a crybaby like Eli. He is a man and will be happy to go to whatever team drafts him. One thing that really impresses me about Reggie is that he seems very educated with a great head on his shoulders. You listen to him and he speaks correctly and his answers are well thought out. Something just bothers me about some of these guys who can't even speak proper English and are going to be mega millionaires.

That means nothing. Carr will be re-signed reguardless, and it will be chaos on this board when it happens.

The only way we can get anything for Carr is if he's signed with us (granted if we were looking to trade him). If we didn't sign him, he has no value considering he'd be a unrestricted free agent.

I dont know whats worse. Picking the wrong of the 2. Or that the Titans get Bush, Young, or Lienart.

...oy...

I really like Reggie and appreciate him saying basically he will play with
who ever picks him, who ever drafts him. Not like little girlie boy Eli who
didn't not play for San Diego because Daddy and Big Brother Peton told him
not to. That was really weird all the way around ? How could somebody not
want to live and work in San Diego, even if the owner is a little squirrely ?

From the AP..

Heisman winner Bush to enter NFL draft
RB follows backfield mate White, is projected to be Texans' No. 1 pick

LOS ANGELES - Reggie Bush is skipping his senior season at Southern California to enter the NFL draft.

The Heisman Trophy winner made the expected announcement Thursday, a day after running mate LenDale White made his decision to leave early and turn pro.

Bush is expected to be one of the first players taken in the draft — with many projecting him going to the Houston Texans with the No. 1 pick.

The story is that someone from within the Charger organization told Archie not to let his son play there. Archie went to San Diego himself to check out the situation, and came away with with the feeling that the Charger organization was dysfunctional. And you know what? He was right, as Marty Schottenheimer and GM A.J. Smith are reportedly not speaking to one another, and team president Dean Spanos had to talk Smith out of firing Marty on Black Monday.

I don't know if Reggie Bush will play for the Texans, but he's certainly someone I'd pay to watch.

That's a cool pick. Is his ankle double jointed? Most would "snap"!

Just wondering, does this mean you think VY does not seem educated or speak correctly. Just for clarification on your POV.

Honestly, I think Young seem smarter than Bush.

From a "Preparing for the NFL" point of view, I think they BOTH made very good choices in the offeason.

Bush - Spent summer working out with LaDainian Tomilinson.
Young - Spent summer working out with Steve McNair.

Both of their NFL choices reflect guys with good character, good work ethic, and a willingness to 'play through the pain'.

Who cares if they speak proper English or not? Proper English does not equate to jack $H1+ in sports. Do you want W's or Essays on why the team can't win football games? How was Hakeems English, or Earl Campbells, or Yao's for that matter? Shake yourself. :brickwall

And there was much rejoicing. Between VY, Leinart and Bush there is alot of value at the top of the draft. It is all going to plan. Now we just need a coach and a decision on DC's contract.

On another note, of course Bush is not going to mind coming to Houston.

I cannot argue with many of these variables, especially our lovely Texan women. :)

c'mon now. No need to go down that road (not just directed at you). Let's keep it about football and keep the personal attacks in check. :)

I think both guys are class acts and we would be proud (and lucky) to have either one on our team. Both of them are playmakers, and have the potential for great things in the NFL.
