My 7rnd Mock...

The texans as we know are sticking with bush. Management wants to fill every seat at reliant, and by taking bush they feel its their best shot at it. There is no point in talking about VY. Carr has yet to prove that he does'nt deserve the job, or deserve it for that matter. We can thank our o-line for that. With that said, if the texans want to make the smart football decision, this is what they should do.......

We trade the #1 pick to the jets for their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1st next year.:ok:

Rd 1- D'brickashaw Ferguson LT Virginia.....will anchor our o-line for the next 10 to 15 years...

Rd 2a- Darnell Bing S USC.....very athletic hard-hitting safety...

Rd 2b- Max Jean-Gilles G Georgia.....this guy is a beast at run blocking...

Rd 3a- Devin Hester WR/CB Miami.....this guy is a heck of an athlete. we convert him to receiver and put him 3 wide with johnson and mathis...

Rd 3b- Anthony Schlegel LB Ohio State.....smart tough LB, overshadowed by hawk...

Rd 3c- Cedric Griffin CB Texas.....tough athletic corner to put opposite of D-Rob...

Rd 4- Roger McIntosh LB Miami.....quick playmaking linebacker...

Rd 5- Justin Wyatt CB USC.....athletic corner that will add depth to our secondary. lets keep it real, faggins isnt the answer...

Rd 6- Aldo Dela Garza G TxA&M.....extremely underrated...

Rd 7- DJ Shockley QB Georgia.....tough underrated qb. should compete for back-up job...

Let me know what yall think.....

Bing should not be the best safty on the board. He is not the best safty on his team. He is quite overrated. Ko Simpson or Laron Landry would be smarter picks.

Converting Hester to full time one position is great, however...WR will not be his NFL position. He will be a CB. I know we would attempt to play him out of position at WR, but that is hindering his athletic ability. I like the pick, not the position.

With that said, you dont need to draft Griffin or Wyatt in this mock. We have some young depth at CB, granted its not very good, but there is no need at all to draft 3 CB's in this draft.

I like McIntosh, but not Schlegel. I am not sure where exactly McIntosh would play in the 3-4. We also do not need two LB's in the draft. LB is a big need, and McIntosh would be great for our team.

I really like the Garza pick. He is extremly strong. He will turn some heads at the combine when it is his turn to lift.

I do not like Shockly. A QB this late is fine, but I just do not care for this one. Maybe Vick or someone who shows physical potential, not a product of the system guy from TT or Hawaii though.

these guys probly won't drop that low, but if they did that'd be a hell of a draft. we just need a tight end in there

Props for Ko nice do you think he will slip to the third? I like the idea of finding underrated juniors coming out.

Unless he has horrible interviews and has an injury problem...there is almost no chance we see him past say pick 40. Take him at 33, Giles/Davin Joseph with our second we aquire in a trade down. If we take bush w/out a trade down...Luiti in the 3rd.

wheres the TE... my only question... i cant really argue with positions because it covers alot of our needs. Is TE comign FA ?

pretty good looking mock to me. By the 1st pick in the 2nd Huff, Simpson, and Landry will be gone so Bing will most likely be there. Only thing that that could be slightly unrealistic is Rock Mc in the 4th, he could go as early as 2nd so I just don't him dropping to the 4th. I don't really know much about DJ shockley so I can't really comment there

i think bing and gilles will both be 1st rounders, but they could slip to the 2nd

good idea trading to get dbrick, but i dont see the jets giving a 1, 2, 3 this year and a 1 next year

but it looks good if everyone is available

I have the same value for trading # 1 and # 4 between Texans and Jets. (3000pts vs 1800 pts)
Texans get # 4, 36, 68, and # 1 in 2007
Texans trade # 68 for 2007 2nd round pick to intrested team.

# 4 B. Ferguson OT UVA

# 33 Jean- Giles OG GA

# 36 L. Pope TE GA

# 64 T. Howard LB UTEP

# 65 D. Slay DB Tx TECH

In the first 3 rounds you have selected the top Tackle and Guard in the draft. One of the top 3 TE's, a stud LB and a head hunter at Saftey.

I like VY and R Bush, however with this trade you get a new OL, young hitters on D, and you have (2)#1 and (2)#2 picks in 2007 draft.
I think for any new coach wanting to build his own team this would be in his best intrest.
One of the main considerations should be insuring that VY does not go to tenn. I think the neg. effect it could have to play against him 2x a year could hound this team for a very long time. We need to make sure that Jets draft VY or we make trade with NO for VY then trade #2 to Jets for #4.
Trading #1 lets new coach gets a stock of good young talent he can mold into his system, multiple picks at the top of draft in '07 and we make sure VY does not play for tenn.

I have based these picks on the Mock Draft from Concensus Draft Service posted 1/10 @ www.condraft.com
