Another Year.. I dont know if I can handle everyone screaming again here

Come April 15th, We have a camp developed to pick Young, We have a camp developed to pick Bush, and we have a camp developed to trade down and get more picks. The two camps we dont pick are going to have another 'scream fest'. They will sound chants of Sean Taylor (oh, did you know he was ejected from the last game from spitting at players), Derrick Johnson, and others. Personally, I dont know if my eyes can take it. :bomb:

IF we pick Young - Carr will be insulted, Ragone will have a cow. Personally, I think Ragone should have had a chance the last few weeks to try to come out of the bench, but someone thought better of it.
Benefits of having Young. He is a playmaker and makes better reads and better accurcy then Carr from what I have seen. He looks to have leadership skills and can get the job done. Reminds me of a Leftwich, but much more mobile.
Downfalls of Young. Cap hit going to be insaine if we take him at #1, Doesnt address critical problems with the O-line (good thing he can run, he will be), Carr sitituation will have to be addressed with trade or something and if he is given his extension, we will get a nice Cap blow.

IF we pick Bush - DD, Morency, Wells, Hollings, and Anderson, 2-3 of those will need to be traded or dropped outright. I see Wells staying (new contract) because of his sign amount and his performance last year as backup RB and special teams. Anderson will be dropped, and DD will have to be traded.
Benefits of Bush. Incredible Running back, one of the best in years coming out in the draft. Good leadership skills and can see holes and hit them instantly. Reminds me of combo of a young dancing Eddie George, with Barrys juke ability, and close to Pittmans speed. Creates a dangerous backfield causing teams to prepare for the run more, opening the down field possibilities. More stout then DD.
Downfalls of Bush Cap hit going to be insaine if we take him at #1, Doesnt address critical problems with the O-line (good thing he can run, but I hope he can without holes.), DD sitituation will have to be addressed with trade or something, we will get a nice Cap blow. We already have a 1000 yard rusher in DD, and just signed a new contract with him.

IF we trade down. This is still the way I would go, even though you have some good players on the board for us. Several reasons for this, which are listed below.

Benefits of Trading down - I think one of the biggest reasons is because there is alot of teams right now willing to sell their mother the get Bush or Young. Lienhart value dropped a bit, so I dont see his presence helping us. For us to trade down by 2,5 or 8 positions will produce us a huge amount of picks since these two are so valued and highly sought. I see for a trade down securing us a top 10 pick still, a second round this year, a fourth round this year, a 1st round round next year or a 2nd and 3rd next year. This would also give us 'cheaper' players, but high valued players and addressing many needs. Think about it, right now we have 4 picks in top 67. How about 6 picks in the top 67. and 3 picks in the top 64 next year. It would go along way to help our team. More players for the money.
Downfalls of Trading down - We would be passing on outstanding playmakers in Bush or Young. They have a chance to improve (not set) our team and create more win possibilities.

I've alwsy been in camp no. 3....

But VY declaring, and the way we're stating that we're taking BUsh no matter what, is all the proof I need that we are......

Taking VY at no. 1. Carr will be traded and doesn't even know it yet.

That's my two cents. When things look one way, it's usually the other.

And Carr is too good a guy to think it'd happen to him.

I agree totally.. I'd like to trade down to #3 and with Titans and Saints taking Qb's (hypothetically) we'd be left with Bush at #3.. More bargaining there.

You hit the nail on the head.. if we draft Bush we better be trading DD, if we draft Young, Carr better be traded..

It is funny how the message board changes with the tide.. when DD was healthy it was WOW he is getting over a 1000 yards with this OL.. then he is injured, Now Wells and Morency step up and the offense doesn't miss a beat (not saying too much there and Carr actually spreads the ball around).

I'd love to have 6 picks in the top 67.. and 3 or so next season.. Give me some OL help in 1st round.. get me a Wright or Huff to play Defense or heck swap it around maybe a Hawk in the early 1st and then Scott at T late 1st or slips to 2nd .. I don't care.. I just know we need run stuffers and playmakers on defense .. we also need a #2 WR,TE and OL on this offense

He did have a TD that game, too... ;)

If we get Young we won't trade Carr. In order to trade him we would have to pick up his option which would mean a cap hit and find a trading partner and still take that cap hit. If we get Young, Carr becomes a free agent and we don't take a cap hit. Has Carr's option been picked up yet, if it hasn't we shouldn't even be thinking of trading him. Might as well let him test the waters and use the money we don't owe him on other things.

The choice is obvious (once the burnt orange sunglasses come off). Select Bush, keep Davis, and quit talking about giving up on David Carr before he's had a chance to pull a Jake Plummer on everyone.

I don't mean to nitpick, but I don't see how Bush is more stout than DD. I hear Bush is 6'0" and about 197 lbs. That's not more stout than any NFL RB that I can think of and it's the biggest reason I'm against taking him. I'm in the Trade Down camp, but I know they're going to take Bush or Young. I just hope that whoever they take works out, because I worry about Young not being experienced running a pro offense and Bush discovering that running between the tackles is IT in the NFL.

Let me revise and say he doesnt seem to get hurt as much as DD does.
