Why aren't more Rookie QB's playing a year in NFLE?

My thing is sitting a QB is fine but playing one is better. Now considering all the craziness surrounding VY right now I'm still not sold on him coming out as a junior and wasting a year he could be playing getting better for a year to sit on the BENCH most likely.

Why not send our rookie qb's over to NFLE? Why is this not done more throughout the NFL period with young qb'.s

If teams are going to invest that much money, they don't want to run the risk of him getting injured playing over there.

I agree but you're not benefitting at all or getting any kind of experience for these guys by just having them on the bench.

In order to get better the best experience is to PLAY. Plus you're paying for him to WARM the bench. Let him EARN that money. I think the risk of injury is worth it given the upside in giving them some experience in the meantime.

Experience is good, but quality of competition is important...play against NFL caliber defense. Huge is right about the injury thing and the quality of the competition isn't worth the risk for anyone but lower tier prospects.

but Vinny would you agree that NFLE is the next step up past College football?

I mean we've got to have a way to get these kids some experience and some way to JUDGE them.

How is that MLB sends their 1st round picks to the minors but football can't do the same?

not talking for Vinny but I think that the Rose Bowl had more top tier talent than all of NFL Europe put together, is that really a step up :twocents:

Point taken there. I'd just hate to see us draft VY and have him sitting the bench for two years when he could be playing and getting prepared against NFL Coaching Schemes at least.
