What happened to the thread about the trade with Miami....

What happened to that thread. . . Was that a bs thread?

That is lame if someone made that up; I've been looking all over for any info on it!!!

I don't remember that thread. Hmmm...

What did the trade in the thread say? Who would we trade and who would we get?

I was replying to it when it disappeared. I got an error message when I tried to post my reply.

I read it also...

Basically, it said that there was a rumor the Texans may trade David Carr to the Miami Dolphins for Ricky Williams and a draft pick (likely a second round pick?).

I don't know where this post went, but I can tell you this... It isn't the first time I have heard this "rumor."

If it was removed then it's probably because it had no source to stand next to it....I searched and couldn't find anything on the net, but I am no Sherlock Holmes

R.Williams ??????? Ack please for the love of GOD tell me that Casserly has more sense than that :brickwall

I did not do the dirty work of removing it, but this is probably your answer.

it is gone because the poster's username was against the rules and his account was deleted...... and there is reason to believe it isn't true...

Ive seen mention of it on other forums.. probably from other people who heard the show. You probably wont find anything on the net to prove it because it was just pointless daydreaming on a radio show.

Wasn't Casserly the one who was able to get all those picks by trading away the draft pick to get Williams?

LOL

So much for Casserly being the worst on draft day.

Yes, the one thing I trust with Casserly is a snake-oil sales type job. If we really want to trade down he will get some team to buy into it. However, I am not convinced that the organization wants to trade down.

I'm not either. I can understand why the Texans would want to assume that they aren't going to have a pick that high for many, many years - and they might as well take advantage of their awful season now.

i think there is a thread on it in the 2006 player draft and combine section, don't know why it is there but it is for me.

Unless we get a #1 this year (top 10) and next year's 1 plus a 2nd rounder in either year then I don't see it happening.

We don't want top ten, we want #10!:fans:

The only way I see us doing this is if were going to take a QB in the draft for our #1 Pick.

I'm not sure that was Casserly as much as Ditka offering him the keys. It doesn't take much to say yes to that offer. What's Washington won with those picks? Jimmy Johnson fleeced Minny with Herschel and the Cowgirls won 3 SuperBowls. Washington fleeced the Saints and hasn't really done anything other than rotate coaches.

I can really see this playing out if in fact if the Texans did go for Lineart or Young in the draft. Especially if Linehan (Dolphins Offensice Coord) was to get the head coaching job. I can see Carr's option not being picked up, taking a top QB (Young or Lineart) in the draft and trading a later draft pick for Ricky. One things that the Dolphins are seriously looking for is a QB and as a matter of fact on the Miami Herald sports page today, there is a story about Steve McNairs interest in becoming a Dolphin. Dolphins also have pretty much stated that they are looking to shop Williams prior to the draft. Not that he does not perform but they have moved on with Brown. For all of Williams strange behavior, the one thing that is a fact is that he has value because he does produce. He rushed for around 750 yards and that was with a 4 game suspension and sharing the backfield with Brown which only rushed for 150 yards more and played alot more.

Now don't go and shoot me for laying this out but just saying that I could see this playing out this way.

Who's we? Nobody asked me.

Casserly didn't listen to the t-sippers :yap last year and IMHO he won't listen to them this year.

:coffee:

The T-sips were right last year. So would you take Bennie over Johnson now or how about that Vasher kid currently wrecking for the Bears?

Who's Bennie?

The Texans traded down with NO and drafted Travis Johnson. :penalty:
I won't even attempt to defend this. How well it turns out depends on Travis improvement and who we get for this years NO 3rd pick I suppose.

Just how well DJ and Vasher would have done here is a moot point, but I suspect not too well. Refer to Dunta who came here looking like a world beater and that inept bunch managed to coach him down to average very quickly.

All longhorn players are not #1 draft material.

Last one being DT Kenneth Simms.

Before that Earl.
See, I can support horn players once in a while.

A team from Texas, with Texas players, a Texas defense, and a Houston QB just won the National Championship of College D1 football, the only undefeated team in the nation. But, when I say bring in some Texas guys I am not just talking about UT. USC is the first team in a long time to win a National Championship without Texas stars. The Houston TEXANS don't have enough stars from the state of TEXAS. We make the BEST football players and then ship them off to other state's teams.
