Kubiak Unofficially Hired Tomorrow (message board speculation)

bdiddy

Waterboy
Gary Kubiak will be unofficially hired tomorrow in Denver. Kirk Ferentz is not interested in moving to the NFL (or at least the Texans - possibility of the Packers). Kippy Brown is being interviewed today to satisfy the minority interviewing requirement. Jerry Gray will be interviewed because Mr. McNair is a wise business man and wants to show his respect for the league. The hiring will be unofficial because it cannot be announced until Denver is eliminated from the playoffs.

Also, writing is on the wall that Gray will be DC next year - this is why he resigned in Buffalo. He will be unofficially hired Saturday.

Post has been removed once, so get the news while it lasts.

Do you have any sort of link or source for this or is it just pure speculation on your part?

This is from a source close to the organization, nothing official - this is why it is an UNOFFICIAL hiring.

Until there is an official link this is all speculation. There's a reason the post has been removed before.

Ok, I don't care. Talk to me after the press conference the Monday following the Broncos elimination.

Job was his once Greg Williams signed extension and Ferentz said he was not interested. Remember Kubiak was interviewed initially and was the organizations second choice.

He was not hired originally, not because he was a bad interview (as has been speculated), but because he is low key. The organization thought they needed a more reputable name to sell an expansion franchise to the city and the league. Capers had started a previous franchise, had lots of NFL experience, respected human being, and more defensive talent was immediately available.

Damn, they eliminate you from the playoffs for having a 1st rd bye?

I said "the Monday" not "next Monday," meaning the Monday following a Broncos loss. Great reading skills!

Well if this is true then this is good news for the Texans. Kubiak is a great QB coach. Jerry gray has a excellant record in Buffalo as a DC.
What other goodies will we find in our stockings.:homer:

It would be nice if you could say who your "official source" is. I don't believe you even have one, but if you do I'm guessing it's just some intern who knows as much as we do.

(1) I said I had a soure "close to the organization."

(2) If I told you, I would become just like you and no longer have this source.

(3) It is not an intern, secretary, custodian, or cafeteria worker.

eh.. whether his source is a janitor in reliant or Mr. McNair himself.. or Mr. Snippy his imaginary friend.. Id say that there is a good chance that Kubiak will be "unofficially" given the job. Or at least.. alot of us are hoping that that will be the case.

I am not saying the speculation is correct, but you sound a little jealous of somebody who might have the "inside" :fib track.

Yeah.....well the ultimate source (won't say who) has just shared with me that deals are being made to have Bill Bellicheck for HC come to the Texans and....that Bush has be "unofficially" drafted as our #1 pick.

Ok, I am done. If you don't believe me no big deal - just thought the board would be interested.

Redemption will be served.

I'm not jealous, it's just hard to believe someone who says they have an "official source" inside the organization. It seems just like another way to draw attention to yourself.

Can you read? I said I have an "offical close to the organization." I never said "official source." If you are going to knock me at least stop misquoting me.

Isn't speculation what a message board is all about. I mean once validated any news source like ESPN will anounce it. It should not be removed. It's fun to speculate and if he really has an inside source even better.

Actually, you said it was "from a source close to the organization, nothing official." Stop misquoting yourself. One of my sources close to the organization can't corroborate this info, although he's only a third shift security guard.

I hope so. I am not really pulling for any one coach over the other, I just want the change of guard to happen soon and I hope whoever is hired brings in the great Coordinators.

Either way, the #1 pick and a new Head Coach has given me hope going into the next season. (Plus the fact that I think the Texans underacheived last year and could be good candidated to jump to 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7 next year. Hopefully.)

Thank you for proving my point. A comma delinates a pause for effect or a separate thought. Two separate phrases cannot be mixed and matched. Where do you get an "official source" from what I said?

this is marked enough for there not to be any confusion with something "official" ... this is interesteing reading compared the Bush/Young overaction threads.

It was humor, but thanks for the grammar lesson anyway.

I think you're getting me mixed up with the other guy who cared about your source, (comma for effect) whether it was official or unofficial.

Actually, it should have been a semi-colon.

Signed,
Mr. Logophile

I know someone that knew someone once that had a job that worked with this guy that is a source for this information one time. He's a great guy.

Thanks bdididy for the scoop! I hope yer right, it would b great to get Kubiak! Now, I wonder if GK would pick RB or VY? Remember the Broncos didn't really drafted a back very high partly bcuz of the zone blocking scheme! Drafting either one will probabaly sell tickets!:redtowel: :twocents: Now this is moot if VY stays in UT!

Turning green, are ya?

If the new HC is GK then DC and AJ will be PO'd if the DP isn't used on a VIP. But I'm sure the HQ will RSVP their #1 VIP to the new HC GK to get his ID for the new VIP DB in 06. IMO

All kidding aside bdiddy. I don't doubt you have a informed source. I hope your source is correct. If we get Mr Kubiak, for what his track record shows,
then we have an exciting season coming our way. Alot of us ate crow after the JAGS victory. I would love to see the rest of the NFL enjoy fowl next year!

sure, but it's just a rumor if you can't back it up....the original post would have never been taken down if it was presented as a rumor...We did change the thread title here so we don't mislead our fan base though. Post all the speculation you want...just present it as such.

Dont act like that, it's a tad bit childish. Just send your opinion and expect a converstioin about it, no need to boast. The only assured information I've seen on these boards was when Boselli's relative (still not sure) was on here saying the he guaranteed Tony will be playing with the Texans. Then he assured us he was retiring.

Let's give one thing a thought...Who say's bdiddy isn't the source himself? He could be with the organization and is just wanting to pass word along to fellow fans. It's not out of reason to think that people in the Texans organization might and in all likely hood do visit this board regularly. Who would know if they did post inside info? Happens in politics and other business affairs all the time. bdiddy, if you do have an inside track, message me. I could use some autograph items for me, my wife, and kids.

If both of these are true then it's a good deal for the Texans. You get an experienced and talented DC to come along with a talented offensive mind. I couldn't think of anything better (within reason) at this point. However, even if the source is correct, it doesn't mean that things couldn't change. Kubiak could completely tank the interview or one of the other guys could blow them away. All it means is that this is possibly what they are intending to do at this moment in time.

Anyone could post this and have a good chance to be right. Not saying you do or don't have a source close to the organization. Check out this excerpt from an article in the chronicle Jan 3:

Two high-ranking NFL officials close to Bob McNair said Tuesday that Kubiak and Ferentz rank highest on the owner's wish list - one that is heavily tilted toward coaches whose focus is offense.

I've always thought about this. What's to stop, say David Carr from registering for this message board and posting.

We'd know it was him (or any other player). He'd give a detailed breakdown of a play and we'd all tell him he was wrong because we saw it differently.

Actually you guys would not know who was with the organization or not unless you knew people in the organization. Not saying I do or don't just saying the regular guys would not. The MB should stick to the split of quality posters, emotional/sensationalist posters, and good ol homers. I guess you bad posters are neccessary too. If it wasnt for the bad who would really know how to measure the good.

Reminds me of an Asimov short story in which Shakespeare is able to come to the future. He is real excited, and as part of his "trip," he enrolls in a college and takes a Shakespeare class, which he subsequently flunks out of because the professor says he got it all wrong. Go Shakespeare!!:redtowel:

I know several people in the organization. I just choose not to let their insight affect my ineptitude on the boards.

I'm changing my answer!

What would stop him? Boredom.

I think there are really only three things a player could get from here: anger, hurt feelings, laughter.

They probably spend far more time playing in some x-box-internet-group-play-shoot-'em-up. You may be more likely to find them there.

That being said, I'm sure you find members of the Texan organization here, especially if you broaden the term organization. I bet many of them are just lurkers though.

The guys sitting next to you at the sports bar watching the game technically aren't "part of the organization".:D

anyone know if he is allowed to come to an agreement on a contract without actually being "hired" ?

per nfl regulations
