New Coaching staff

What is everybody looking for in the new coaching staff? I want an offensive minded coach with an agressive approach who will take control of all offensive duties. I like Kubiak from Denver. I also would like the Defensvie coordinator to take full control of the defensive duties. I don't like it when you have the head coach with say over both sides of the ball it spreads their film time and coaching time thin because they have to address both sides of the ball.
 
I'd always go for a defensive coach. Defense wins championships. I like the way orr, peek, babin have played....i'd stay with a 3-4 and go after wade phillips from sd.
 
I always thought a head coach should be neither offensive or defensive minded. In my opinion a head coach should be more of an overseer. Surrond yourself with great coaching. Let your coordinators do there jobs, and if they cant, replace them with someone who can.

Walsh was the best at that. Look at all the coach's that came out of his system.

If you are a head coach who tries to run everything personally then that is a head coach who will fail. There is just not enough hours in the day.
 
A lot of what I see a HC doing is training his staff. The poster above that referenced Walsh is right on target. Get the coaches to buy in to the strategy of the HC and then they develope the schemes to make it work, then sells the concepts to the players who practice them and implement them on game day. Sound simple.....wish it was.

By the way there is another former head coach who might be a surprise. Walsh is his name. He might be in some disfavor in San Fran. He is an offensive minded coach. He has all the attributes McNair is looking for and he didn't interview for the consulting job.

That is interesting, but isnt he like 90 years old now?
 
I'm not that hard to please.

I just want someone who will play to win instead of to not lose. Someone who will take the best personnel he has and use them in the way that gets the very best performance out of them.
 
I want Kubiak as HC and be basically in charge of the O as well but for the D I'd prefer a coach who can run it all by himself and one that runs the 4-3 since its easier to run and we obviously don't have the personnel to run the 3-4

On NFL network, it was mentioned that the Texans are interested in

Gregg Williams & Pat Hill (IBAR), but Kubiak is a frontrunner.

A staff that brings out the full potential of their players instead of stunting their growth like this coaching staff has done with the play it close to the vest philosophy. Yeah, that would be nice.
