Could we pull off a double trade?

Is there anything against the rules preventing us from, for example, trading picks with San Fran + another 1st rounder, then trading that pick for the Jets #3 plus another 1st rounder, and result in us picking up Ferguson + 2 extra 1st rounders? or a couple 2nd and 3rd rounders?

I like Reggie Bush a lot, but even if he turns out to be the next Barry Sanders, look at Barry's record in the playoffs. It takes more than 1 player.

I really don't like the argument of Barry never succeeded in the playoffs. His job is to put up rushing yards and score touchdowns. He did both extremely well. His job was not to go out and sign free agents and draft good players. That is the job of the owner and general manager. You can't blame Barry Sanders for not having quality players surrounding him.

If you can get a player who is the next Barry Sanders or Dan Marino you take them because both players were some of the best players at their respective position even though they never had much playoff success.

Sure we could. How likly is that to happen? About zero percent.

Teams dont like to give up first round picks. Think of it this way...If you are thinking about what you want to trade for that pick, imagine what you would want your texans to give up, if they were in that senario.

I could see 1 trade down, if we didnt want bush.

All I ask is that we dont trade with the titans.

FYI the 49ers will have the 6th or 7th pick in the draft (coin flip with the Rairders), so trading down with them drops us a ways. Here is the draft order for the non-playoff teams:
1) Houston (2-14, .535)
2) New Orleans (3-13, .523)

4) NY Jets (4-12, .527)

we should be telling everyone that we are taking bush or lienhart, but are looking to make a deal if the best one is there. Then we should call NO and tell them that we are trading w/tenn, who is going to take lienhart. NO will trade with us at that point. We then explore other trade options outside of our division.

Well we know NO will take Leinhart either way. And i think Tenn, NYJ, and Oak might want Leinhart.

Then there is GB, SF, NYJ who might move up for Bush.

I dont want anyone to count out any trades until we see who goes where in FA. As of know i think trading down is the best option.

Reggie Bush is the best talent available, if he declares? so lets just relax & assume the Texans will draft him. yes they will get some offers but will it be enough? I'm saying don't count on it, don't pin your hopes on it instead we need to be focusing on the rest of our draft picks which will the the 1st pick in each rd. plus the Saints 3rd rd pick the 2nd overall in that round- so basicly the Texans have two 1st rd picks (one early & one late) & two 2nd rd picks (both late) & by that I mean even though these picks don't fall specificly in those rounds with good scouting & projection should be talent that reflects that level.

GB and SF won't trade up for Bush. SF is actually looking to trade down and GB is looking to draft defense.

I agree that SF will likely not trade up from the #6. They are trying to rebuild their team and would have to make a very nice package to get equal value to trade from their #7 spot up to #1, so I don't see that happening, and they could be looking to trade down from #7 to add extra picks, but I don't know how many teams will be willing to trade around in that 4-12 range unless there is someone they feel really good about and want to make sure they get him, but after the top few picks I don't see any particular player standing out that much right now.
