OK i ws thinking a true fan is alwys a fan good times and bad and id like to say im that true fan so i have decided to not cheer against the texans but to just cheers for the niners...is this ok?
 
A "TRUE" fan.. loves their team no matter what.. and always wants the best for their team.

Usually that is a win.. in this case it isnt.

If I was going to the game (cant unfortunatly).. I would be wearing my Texans gear and cheering them on.. but id still be hoping that we find a way to lose it.

Except when you are 2-13, last game of the season, and it's for the Number 1 pick in the draft.

They are exceptions to every rule!:rofl:

I'd laugh my a0s off if (that name) turns out to be another Desmond Howard or Rocket Ismail - well ... that is if the Texans don't pick him. The more I hear the comparisons to legendary players, the less chance he has to meet expectations. Past drafts are littered with top pick busts and the only sure thing is that he will cost a team about 70 million. I have a tendency to not run with the herd whether it's stock tips, pyramid schemes, bandwagoning the team from Irving, or whatever, and even though a few weeks ago I was praising the kid myself - this oversaturation on message boards, newspapers, ESPN, etc., makes me want to have nothing to do with (that name). But then I read the next article and think, what if ....

Why? Because of Reggie Bush? I think not. The Texans don't need a running back, they need an offensive line that can block. Sure they can trade Bush off to someone else for other draft picks but then tey would still lose the #1 pick that way wouldn't they? Or at least it would have been wasted. I see it this way. Say they lose the last game and get the #1 pick. They pick Bush and trade him to someone else for several draft picks. Unless they trade him to someone that has at least one pick in the first round they could lose any chance at a very good offensive lineman. That's just one way I look at it.
 
Our line is bad.. but there is talent there that is being misused, or not used at all. Im not saying we dont need more talent on the line.. just that we dont necessarily HAVE to spend our #1 pick on an olineman. Usually.. the only reason to spend a #1 pick on an Olineman is to get a great LT prospect. The problem with that (for us) is that we have Pitts who has done pretty darn well at LT. He may not be Orlando Pace.. but he isnt bad at all... and if he had more help along the line, he would be even better.

With the depth at OT in this draft.. we can probably pick up a very promising prospect in the second round with the #33 pick. Someone is going to slide.

as for not needing Bush.. I look at it like this. He is one of the most promising college prospects to come out at any position in a long time. He isnt a sure thing by any stretch of the imagination.. but.. with Davis having problems with durability when he has to take 30 carries a game.. having a guy like Bush could be a great thing for us. We can split carries with Davis.. and if Bush turns out to be as good as advertised, maybe he could become our sole back eventually.

Why do yall people always stray away from the point. This has nothing to do with Bush, Ferguson, or Bill Clinton. A fan is a fan of a team. I wear my colors and jersey's proud all the time. The fact is, if they lose, they get the #1 pick, if they win, it could be #5. The first pick has so much value this year, it would do the organization good if they were to lose in the long run. If they win, I wont be mad, I will be happy for the guys, because I know what they have gone through. As a fan, this offseason will be a million times more excitable with a loss on Sunday.

Great post! I agree that all this media (and fan) hype can be a set up for Bush to fall flat in the big time. It is a bit unnerving to see someone so young being worshipped so devotedly...by so many, and just off college play. At least some people have realized that one player doesn't make a team...and he could be used for trading stock. But still, the hype grows by the day. Hope this kid can handle all this.

They're still trying...to win or lose? Depends on who you ask. I will be so happy to see next season come, this one has been not only a disappointment to alot of us, but an embarassment too.
I do not want the legacy of the 'Tanking Texans". Do you?

He won't be that bad. I am predicting he turns out to be the next Eric Metcalf. He made three Pro Bowls and had a 1000-yd receiving year, so that's not bad. It's not a once-in-40-years talent, however.

I agree with you 100%. You can look at all my post and you won't see a one that says I want Bush. I think we should trade the pick for more picks. We have too many holes to fill! I also stated on another post that one man doesn't make a team!

A true fan hopes win or lose this last game, that they make the right friggin decisions this offseason to raise this bottomed-out ship.

I'll stick with "fan" level at this point, not sure if I'm worthy of TRUE fan yet. I may need to work my way up through the ranks of good fan, dedicated fan, enthusiastic fan, then the ultimate true fan. Wonder what activity gets me that merit badge.

Luckily, I was never classified as bandwaggon fan.

Now that I think about it, I may be at "dedicated fan" level...

I paid $1800.00 for my PSL's. I pay over $1500.00 a season-for my season tickets and parking. (I know some people pay alot more!) But I have done this for 4 years, total $7800.00+.

Guess paying all that money & not wanting to win Sunday & wanting for my team to get a great draft choice, bettering my team in the long run, doesn't make me a true fan! So be it! LOL
