Someone had mentioned before about moving Wells to TE. Would that be possible and do any of you think he could do it?

IMO, he's more of a stand still, catch the ball, and try to bulldoze people. His route running doesn't really stand out to me, so its probably not the best. But his blitz pickup is actually ok to good. Could work if he worked on running routes.

Even if you think that Wells is a decent at pass catching and blocking (debatable), blocking on the move is a different skill set than being an online TE or even getting off a 240 OLB is different to catch a pass than avoiding the same player in space.

I don't think his route running is real good and he's not tall enough to be a great pass-catching TE even though he has decent hands.

Wells as a TE? Hmmmm... Yeah, I guess maybe I could think of him as a shorter, heavier, slower version of Billy Miller - without the hands...

Don't forget that he has inferior blocking skills, also.

This is my choice.....http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302221

He is from Texas (Columbus) and I know he would love to play at home. Anyone been to Schobel's Restuarant in Columbus? Good down home food.

all of the above may be true but IMO he has a place on this team ... he's one of the few players that we as fans should be proud of .... and not because of his physical skills ....

I think Wells can do whatever he puts his mind to. He certainly has made a case for himself as an NFL RB. Not a star RB but an NFL back. He is the ultimate team player. I think if anything he should focus on being a FB so he could really be considered an H Back, if that makes any sense. DD is pretty good without a FB all the time now, so really it would be like having this guy who could catch out of the backfield, pick up blitzes and catch the ball.
