preseason EXCUSES

anyone remember what was being said about the astros this season? after the hot start they cooled down and people started saying no time to panic. then after 500 ball, still no need to panic. all the excuses stros fans tossed out and in the end the people that were panicing were right. my point is, palmer sux, both our lines were blown up by the steelers. if we looked bad then thats it, no excuse.

.. and then?
No comparison between Astros and Texans - different issues.

2 things...
1. it's preseason - no complaints durning Dallas game, but now everyone needs to be dropped?
2. Cinci whupped NE 31-3, guess all NE's coaches suck as well.

With the Astros, panic is appropriate at any time of the season regardless of their record.

Absolutely agree. The playbook on today's game is not the same you'd see on a typical gameday. Also, they didn't gameplan for the Steelers. It makes a big difference. No need to call for someone's head just lighten up and enjoy the little bit of football that we've been blessed with thus far. When the real games start then you'll see the difference.

Have to agree with Gwallia on that one

Other than that, I'm with you in some respects, but not in others. The assinine Palmer comment aside, both lines played like the Little Sisters of the Poor - School for the Performing Blocking Dummies. I don't give two wooden nickels whether they won or lost, but I was hoping that at this stage in their development, they had gotten over the roller coaster syndrome we have seen up to now. I was hoping for that elusive consistency. Consistent teams are winners. Teams that play well one week, and play like dog meat the next week, will never win in this league. The NFL is too tough. Having said the above, it's no time to panic. It's the pre-season, and you can be sure that Caper's and Co., will light a fire under their asses so big, people in Alaska will feel the heat.

If you had gone by the last preseason game from last year you would have thought were going to go 0-16.

Uh, the Astros struggled in the regular season with their starters. The Texans struggled in a preseason game where starters only played about 1/4 of the game and the final result was meaningless. That's kind of a big difference.

BUENO!
Excuses aren't made for preseason because preseason, by it's very nature does not require any. That's it in a nutshell and it's not all that hard to grasp the concept.

lol: Now THAT'S a fire!!! Ah Robinson will be alright, just roll him around a bit. <end E. Murphy standup>

Let's see what happens these final two preseason games when the TEXANS gameplan and the starters see more time. Then we'll work our way through the season and continue our support as always.

Don't be blind to our needs, but don't be a bandwagon rider either. :boxing:

Parcells made a comment last week the we(THE TEXANS)ran the same 4 or 5 plays.I guess Pittsburgh game planed for the same plays...they were in our backfield before we could get back to the line of scrimmage. As far as saying Palmer sux....come on man,it IS preseason.I bet you didnt say that last week

.. and then?
Uh huh... well, you would think, then, that by the time we ran our 12th or 15th offensive play that Parcells and the boys would've stopped us.
