Good for him. The job was taking its toll on him, but looks like he's getting on with life. :thumbup

The caption under the pic should've said "miss me yet?"....especially after that putrid performance against the colts.

Folks will really miss him when he's winning on another team. Not a very popular opinion around these parts right now, and some will accuse me of smoking something funny, but I'm not going to be surprised when another team hires him as a HC.

I'd be smiling and getting hammered, too, if I got a year off of work and still made $4 million in that same time period!

And it would take a lot less for me!

I'm right there with you on this. He'll have choices.

Good for him. He looks like he is enjoying himself outside of football. I think Gary needs at least one season off where he can spend time with his family and get in better health.

I just don't want to see him anywhere near any of the teams I root for.

Only the people that like HC's because they are nice guys. He has a losing record as a HC. He had 2good seasons out of 8, where 1 was mainly due to a great defense that Wade turned around over night. If that is the case then people should be missing Capers big time as well. The only way that he ever becomes a HC again is if he creates one of the best offenses in the league as an OC. I think that he'll get a job somewhere as an OC, but if I were Gary I'd try to go to a team that already has an established QB. He doesn't have a lot of success in developing inexperienced QB's. That would be his safest move.

I have no doubt that he will be named HC again some time.

This is why I am kinda rooting for Ken Whisenhunt to be our coach. I think he and Kubiak will both be more successful their second time around as HC.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Kubiak is a mediocre head coach to me. His overall record is average and he does not inspire greatness from his players. This season is proof positive of it.

However, that doesn't mean he won't get another chance. A lot of mediocre coaches get two shots in the NFL, sometimes more.

Case in point is Wade Phillips. Dude is 1-5 in the postseason with 3 teams. Gary has him beat with a 2-2 record. Wade has a better winning record, but nothing really inspiring.

Norv Turner is another example (3 teams, 4-4 in playoffs).

We could probably build a solid list of these kinds of coaches. Their king is Marty Schottenheimer. 4 teams, 5-13 in playoffs.

I'm not trying to disrespect any of these coaches. My point is only that I'm not going to be surprised if Kubiak gets another chance. I'm not predicting or advocating it, but just seeing historical trends.

Good for Kubiak. His health should be his top priority and I hope he stops to smell the roses. Hell be alright and work again.

Eh..... moreso for Whienhunt than Kubiak. Whisenhunt had a lot of stuff "forced" on him... Kubiak was part of the decision makers that put him in bad situations.

We know, at the very least, that Kubiak is slow to learn from past mistakes.... or to even admit a mistake.

I think with a competent GM Kubiak can be successful. A room full of yes men, not so much.

If Kubiak goes on and wins 9 Super Bowls as head coach for another team, good for him. That has no bearing on the fact that he was here for 8 years and was mediocre.

I wish him well, but glad he's no longer our coach.

Take a poll of Browns & Baltimore fans and see if they agree.

We are worse then the Browns with a team that some thought had SB talent Cak. I have talked to fans around the country for years and no one has ever feared the Texans due to our coaching we've had. I've heard that for years. Matt of fact there was a thread the minute that Kubiak was fired on a Patriots board and tons of their fans seemed pretty worried and uncomfortable about the fact that a talented team like the Texans were no longer going to be held back by Kubiak. Many of them predicted that we could potentially have a "Chiefs like" turnaround with the right HC being hired. I didn't see or hear any of them feel like Kubiak was going to get hired somewhere else and have some successful turnaround as a HC. They all were stating that the Texans might actually become a team that they felt would be dangerous now. All season last year when the Texans were winning games, Pats fans laughed at the idea of playing the Texans in the playoffs mainly due to the Texans having Schaub and having Kubiak. Watt was the only guy they were worried about.

All of that could be true, and I don't doubt it; but, just like some players need to experience getting cut to learn, Kubiak just might learn a few of the right lessons and be successful somewhere else.

True, anything IS possible.

IF I see that Gary can adapt to the positive side as a head coach. Then I might start to worry. Til then, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

I'm done hoping that he would suddenly "get it" in one hand and crapping in the other. I have nothing against the man himself, but as a head coach I am glad he is gone. Maybe I wont have to wash so much crap off my hands for awhile now. :kitten:

He constantly made the same mistakes over here for 8 seasons. His stubborn mentality is exactly what always held the team back. Why on earth would you think that he will change now when he refused to learn from mistakes in an 8 year span? Kubiak is the type of coach that hates "change." I can never have confidence in a coach that fears being uncomfortable because their familiarity might decrease. Change is part of the sport and adaptation is one of the most important traits for running a successful team that can withstand many changes over time.

I would like to see Kubiak fired again. Once was not enough for me. Or some kind of ceremony where his podium, headset, and Denny's menu are tossed into a pyre. After 13 consecutive losses, I need to see more blood.

lol at people who think Kubiak is getting another job as a HC. Get real

Also everyone is like he is a great guy and maybe he is but his attitude as a coach put me off. I thought he had no personality and when he would act like he was smarter than the guys asking him questions it now looks silly considering he was an epic failure.

Coach, enjoy your life you should have plenty of money and I hope you take care of your health.
