Josh Gordon: Should we trade?

silvrhand

All Pro
I'm thinking if we can trade a late 2nd round, 3rd round for Josh Gordon and see if getting out of cleveland will sort some of his issue?

WR is like the lowest of the low in priorities right now.

I dunno, if we switch up QBs a three headed hydra of Andre, DeAndre, and Josh Gordon could go a long way towards making Case Keenum look like the god he's being made out to be in the regular section of the board.

That might be the most stacked trio of WRs in the AFC.

MS doesn't even look to throw to Hopkins until the 4th quarter, wouldn't want to give him too many targets to throw interceptions to. Besides, MS can't throw deep so we can't use anyone with speed.

Lol just imagine next year what could happen when our rookie QB (Boyd/Hundley/Murray/McCarron/whoever) is given the gift of Andre, DeAndre, Josh Gordon, Arian Foster, and Owen Daniels to throw to.

Whoo boy. That sounds like a video game offense.

Well I would say go for it but that's the part of me that knows the kid personally with him being a friend of the family and former teammate of my little bro.

But he'd be wasted here. He is a deep threat that stretches the field and that's something we basically don't bother doing. Would be nice to have a trio like Peyton does in Denver but still need someone to take advantage of it.

Side note...what are the Browns thinking? Okay, you want to get a franchise QB. What does a franchise QB need? A freaking receiver. You have a young one who has shown a lot of potential and ability to play on this level so you want to trade him for a pick for yet another unknown? Sorry but that's just backwards.

Just heard on sirius nfl radio that the Browns are looking for a 1st round pick for josh. He was a 2nd round compensatory pick and he has played very well so far.

It doesnt matter. The Texans do not need to acquire another wr right now. They need another qb besides schaub as their qb. That is their priority right now.

They'd still have Greg Little. Personally I think Hoyer might, just might be the guy they've been looking for. If I was the Browns GM, I put my bets on Hoyer and draft a surrounding cast to help him out, and maybe a QB in the 2nd or 3rd for insurance, like McCarron or Murray.

Cleveland Browns' Josh Gordon in no mood to chit-chat about setting the team record with another blistering day
"It means nothing to me if we can't win as a team while doing it,'' said Gordon, who caught seven passes for 151 yards, including an 80-yard TD that extended the Browns' lead to 19-3 with 1:25 left in the third quarter.

Gordon's 151 yards passed Braylon Edwards (1,289 in 2007) for the franchise’s single-season record. Gordon now has league-leading 1,400 yards (and eight TDs) in 11 games -- five fewer games than it took Edwards to set the mark.

He surpassed Detroit's Calvin Johnson (1,348) for most yards in the NFL -- despite missing the first two games of the season on a suspension.

He has totaled 774 receiving yards over the last four games, an NFL record, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Gordon’s seven 100-yard games this season are a club record and he is the only Browns player to record four straight 100-yard receiving games. Twelve of Gordon’s 13 career touchdowns have come from 20-plus yards. Gordon is the first Browns player with at least one touchdown catch in four consecutive games since WR Kevin Johnson in 2001. In addition, his 2,205 receiving yards are the most by any player in their first 27 games as a Brown.
"He's a hell of player, man,'' said Aqib Talib. "He's young. He's going to make some noise in this league. He's pretty good.''

I'm so damn happy for this kid. Still remember watching him at Lamar and his mother running back and forth the rail screaming at him. He worked hard and it is paying off. He is averaging nearly 130 yards per game. Keenum would have had fun with a guy like this or whoever ends up our next quarterback.

And to think he's doing this with Jason Campbell, Hoyer (seemed actually decent) and freaking Brandon Weeden.

Don't see why they would trade for Josh Gordon. He's young and on pace to be great. That doesn't seem very Texans-like. Now, once he gets over the hill and is a free agent, watch out!

They won't barring inside concerns about further suspensions.

Forgot part of the bolding above.

Oops, you're right. Missed that little qualifier.

He's one failed test away from a year long suspension. No thanks.

Right now I think he is worth the risk if the Browns were dumb enough to trade him. This year he's been blowing everything up with some if the worst QB rotations (make the Texans look good by comparison). He's definitely a stud and probably every team would try to get him just off if his immense talent.

But none of that will happen because the Browns aren't trading a stud WR1

lets trade Andre and Matt to CLE browns for some picks

boy would andre just love that be stuck in CLE with ol matty LOL

#1 for Gordon & #8 in a heartbeat.

People get so carried away with needs. Gordon is one of the top 15 players in the NFL right now. Mettenberger throwing to AJ/Hopkins/Gordon = points on the board. Draft an OL or 2 and you suddenly have a young dynamic offense with a bright future.

Gordon wouldn't be available without the suspension thing. Bring Josh Gordon home.

Browns can't trade Gordon. He's too good, putting up numbers with some pretty average QBs. Add a QB, Ben Tate, and line help and fill in other holes and this is a playoff team.

Browns need Teddy. C'mon, Browns.... it's "trade up to win" time.
