No one is going to offer us a first rounder for Domanick Davis, the Seahawks and Colts couldn't get one for Alexander and James last year so there's no way we get one for Davis, and there's no way we're trading Davis. He is a very good RB and trading him would result in $7-8 million of dead cap space next year, we would certainly trade the #1 pick to get Bush before trading Davis, and I think and hope that is what will happen.

The Seahawks and Colts couldnt get proper trade value because Alexander and James didnt have a contract coming up. If those 2 players had 3-4 year deals already signed at a good price for the teams, they would have gotten a lot more interest. Teams werent going to invest a first rounder for a player that wont sign a long term deal with his own team. Thats how I see it
Jets fans are almost as bad as fans from Chicago.. These people are under the impression set out by the Jets front office that they dont wnat Leinhart and they used the NY post for that. Now C mart is only going to be back for 1 more year with the jets. With Feidler and Pennington on their team and both with injuries there is no way they will not get out the 1st 2 picks with out drafting one of those 2 players. I see the Jets making a crazy deal to get Bush and make sure that SF doesnt... thats if we dont have the 1st pick. Then you have to think NYJ has a pretty good O-line just cant keep a QB healthy. I bet Bush would flourish there. They have Jolly to as a TE to take the man out of the box. I see the Jets as Bush's best option for Success. i dont see that in Houston or SF.

The only thing I have to say though, is that if the Jets need a running back, why not try to get Shaun Alexander? He is a young proven running back who will probably be cheaper than Reggie Bush and it won't cost them future draft picks. If they have so many deep holes, wouldn't that be the best avenue of rebuilding their team?

Can Shaun Alexander line up in the slot or as a wideout? How about returning punts? Reggie fits this team because he can play multiple positions that we have holes in. Who is our #2 receiver? Gaffney sometimes and Bradford sometimes. Both have one thing in common, they suck. Who returns our punts? Mathis runs backwards towards our own endzone, Buchanon is inactive, and Davis becomes winded and can't play in the series after returning punts.
Your right we shouldn't take a "smallish back". Tiki Barber, who I guess is a "smallish back" (about 5'10 200). Just had 211 rushing yards today. And your right he is unproven, but what college player is? Maybe we shouldn't draft anyone because they are all unproven.

buchanon returns punts well, and he will not be on IR next year. Mathis is not the correct type of "fast" for PR.
Mathis is, however, the right type of player for #2. He has the speed, the hands, and the versitility to double as a KR.
I will give you that bradford sucks, but gaff. is a slot type reciever. We have a better slot man in armstrong, but that is a different argument.
I was only saying, why draft bush to fill a hole that you deem important, when we can have an NFL MVP canidate. He is still young, in the prime of his career.
Your arguments dont all seem to fit together, but at least you are trying to stick firmly to a point, and for that i applaud you.

He will do better on the Jets because of their O-line and you will say wow we should of taken him. If SF takes him you will say ok hes no better than DD. If we take him we are gonna say he did the exact same thing DD has done at 10X the cost.
