"Texans running back Domanick Davis sat out of practice again Friday. He did not practice all week because of the swelling in his knee, but coach Dom Capers said he is hopeful Davis will be ready to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
Davis will run some exercises on the field prior to the game to determine if he is healthy enough to play. "If he goes out and feels well, he'll be activated and ready to play," Capers said. "

So you're going against a team who gives up quite a few yards on the ground, but throws the ball all over the field. AZ wants to get into a shootout, and let Warner chuck it to Fitz and Boldin. They rely on blitzes and a good pass rush to disrupt the opponent.

In preparation for the game, our RB who is piss poor at picking up blitzes and blocking sits due to injury, yet the coaches still want to try to have him go on Sunday.

Starting to come to the conclusion that DD is soft. He will run and catch the ball, but when it comes time to get dirty and block, hit and help the team, unless the ball is in his hands he ain't doin jack.

IR DD and give Wells and Morrency looks, not for the #1 pick but to send a message to DD...course disipline isn't something this regime has even considered

Its funny the title of this thread is called complete morons, because moron does come to my mind when reading this post. I'm not even a person who is a 100% sure if DD is the answer for the future at runningback and I'm upset that you think he should be in your words disciplined, are you serious he is the only guy who hasn't had a drop in his production this year on our team and to say he needs to be disciplined for being injuried and isn't the best at picking up the blitz is by far one of the dumbest things i've read recently. DD is injury prone, thats not his fault, maybe he tries to hard.

He has had a good year, but I wouldn't say that he hasn't had a drop in production. He has much fewer touchdowns this year compared to years before.

yeah thats true, but compared to other players who have completely fell off the map this year I don't think he deserves threads like this. I know where you stand on the Bush subject and I agree with you, I'm a fellow draft bush supporter, I just don't think Davis deserves to be drug through the mud. He has been a overachiever since he joined the team and it isn't his fault he isn't a athletic specimen. He is what he is and that is a very good football player.

Oh I agree with you. If there is one person on the team that shouldn't be thrown under the bus by the fans it is Domanick Davis. But I don't think that wanting to add a player with the talent of Reggie Bush to compliment Domanick Davis in the back field is throwing him under the bus. I think it would be similar to adding a player like Randy Moss to the receiving corps. Would it take catches and touchdowns away from Andre Johnson? Yes. Would it make us a better team? Yes.

I agree, a bush, davis backfield would be scary

According to Grid's Dictionary,

Moron: Anyone who thinks that Domanick Davis doesnt give 100% on the field.

Try watching a Texans game with your eyes OPEN next time.

This is a common misconception about the Pro-Bush folks. We aren't necessarily asking for Davis to be traded and replaced by Reggie Bush. A lot of us would like Reggie and Domanick to coexist in the backfield and become one of the most dangerous running games in the league. Just like Duckett and Dunn, Anderson and Bell, Johnson and Perry, and all of the other powerful 2-back systems in the league.

I'm not pro Bush, trade down and keep DD next year and draft Peterson or actually use Wells or Morrency

I'd be all for keeping DD if he performed as well when he doesn't have the ball as he does when he carries it.

How are we going to draft Peterson next year? Are you guaranteeing that we will have a top 3 pick somehow?

We can't possibly fix all the issues this team has in one offseason...if we don't have a top3 pick next year, then we should know by then what we have in Morrency, and might not need to spend our 1st 07 pick on a RB.

The way things are now, we know where we have holes, and we are talking about spending our #1 pick on a position that has a short shelf life, we have players on the bench we have no clue what they can bring, and still get our QB annhilated when they stack the run on 1st and 2nd down.

I don't think we do know where we have holes because I think that coaching has to do with a lot of our problems.

I don't think DD should sit out of punishment, but I do think that Wells should get his chance. DD can't block or doesn't know how or something, not won't, and Wells has done well when given a chance. It's not going to make a major overall difference though, I don't think. We need linemen.

Okay let me get this straight . Now we have nothing better to do than kick DD when he is hurt.Sometimes I wonder if we are watching the same games.
DD does all of the things he does well with almost no help from our OL. I take my hat off to him.
Has anyone concidered what Mr Bush is going to charge for his services. It will not be cheap..

perfectly stated

The good news about all of this is when Davis goes lame next year we will still have Bush to turn to. Hell, Davis might not go lame since hell be splitting the load with Bush.

Alex Smith got a 6-year $49.5M contract (more guaranteed money)

Eli Manning 6-year $54M contract

Expect the next #1 to get $50 - $55M over six years.

QB's get more money then any other position. If Bush goes #1, he will probably get closer to $40M

How can you say that Dominack Davis doesn't give 100%? Are you comepetly blind? Its amazing how a young man like Davis gives his best performances when the fans like you want to draft a RB to take his place when a lot of players in this league would have given up on an 1-12 team. This team right now is looking for leaders. Davis is a leader by what he does on the feild. Being a 4th round draft pick and running behind one of the sorriest lines in the league and you don't think he gives 100%? If everybody on this football team had a heart as big as DD, we would be talking playoffs right now. That is just a load of bull****.

Maybe they can create a Bush Moron discussion, and move all the Bush threads there.

This I would not at all be in favor of. This board in it's many incarnations since the original nfl2002.com boards has survived plenty of annoying and moronic posters. When they become too much for the community to handle the moderators shut them down. That's what they do, that's why we have them. Any kind of system that allows board members to vote their fellow members off the board will eventually twist itself into a very ugly situation where groups of posters form "blocks" of votes against individuals they don't agree with and those posters will find themselves voted off the board for having an opinion that doesn't fit comfortably with the "official party line". Such a system provides ambitious board members with the ability to assemble a power base.

This is an exceptionally bad idea.
