Practice Squad
Hey guys! I hope we have a good game this weekend...I just wanted to get a feel for the Texans this year...I know there's much to say about this club besides your record....How has it been going this year? I wanted to know about the Texans D Line and the Secondary...What are you guys anticipating versus The Cardinals Passing Game?

Well we anticipate you guys to light up Fangio's zone crap. then we expect to pound Kurt Warner and run on you guys all day. Then we expect to blow our lead in the 4th.

I guess we'll let Warner exhaust himself from passing too much. Then we'll get our running game going :)

Hey Coach C! Well the Cards have had trouble all year in the Red Zone...We'll go up and down the field all day but we can't punch the ball in...we end up settling for a FG all the time...just curious to see what the mood is over there...

Hey Malloy you're right! Warner will throw 50-60 times by the 4th quarter...I'm taking you guys have a solid running game...Marcel and JJ have underachieved for AZ to say the least this year...

JJ is a stud dont understand why you guys to give him the rock. Could be everyone on your Oline is playing out of posistion, but that is just me. I really thought you guys were going to make some noise this year. And if you all are kicking FGs that is cool with me (got Rackers on my FF league team) gonna need him in the playoffs this week.

Welcome to the board CardsFan.

I see you guys have allowed 7 special teams touchdowns this year. Watch out for our return man Jerome Mathis, he's the best kickoff return guy out there right now.

Other than that, you'll be able to pass on us all day long. If you have a tight end, use him. He'll be open up the middle.

Domanick will run pretty well. You guys will probably be able to establish a running game against us, considering our run d this year.

Howdy, CarsFan. Welcome to the Texans funny pages! :)

Your boy Warner could look like days of old. We have a wait of making even mediocre and inexperienced QBs look like the return of Joe Montana this year. I hope Kurt doesn't have a career day against us, but it would not surprise me.

Interesting stat TEXANS84 brought up about special teams. That could be the one factor that we have going for us enough to make a difference.

I hope that Warner throws an out to Boldin and he takes Fangio out in the first quarter. Fangio later goes to the locker room and comes back having the daylights knocked out of him. He proceeds to think that he is Monte Kiffin and totally revamps his playbook at halftime and is able to communicate the changes on the fly to the team with absolute wonder. Wait that can''t happen he may save his job.

As long as Warner throws to Fitzgerald he can throw all day long if he wants too. I need fantacy points!!!:)

kaiser, drugs are for recreational purposes only, not to fight off depressions ;)

Our secondary is much better now without Buchanan and Coleman. That has been alot of our problem throughout the year. Like a cornered possum, our defense is playing more agressive in the last few weeks. Our special teams are above average (except last week) and unfortunately, unless we find a new way to lose, the Texans will win 2 out of the last 3.

Hey There! Thanks for the responses...It's gonna be a good game...and Yeah I think it'll be interesting to see how the return men do..given that our guy, Reggie "Swintown" Swinton was cut by Houston at the beginning of the season...Your guy can definitely run one back against us..If you noticed our game on Sunday, The WSH returner never even broke his stride on the way to a TD...It's funny to see some of you guys have Warner, Fitz, Boldin, and Rackers on your FF...Those have been our bright spots this year...We should be sittin at 9-4 and not the other way around this year...Believe it or not guys, I'm nervous that the Cards might lose this game come Sunday!

Reggie Swinton is definitely one I wish we had back. I saw a ton of promising things from him during the preseason.

Yep. But, nooooooooo, we had to keep our stud starter, Corey Bradford.

We've heard a lot of that the last three weeks. Don't get too worked up until the absolute last second has ticked off the clock.

cough...rackers is my fantasy kicker....cough......need the texans to win 31 to 30, 4 dominack davis 99 yard td runs, 10 50 yard neil rackers field goals.....cough.

The team just needs to be reminded that Football games are 60:00 minutes long. Not 58 or 59 minutes. Not 59:55. 60:00. Until the clock says 00:00, anything can happen...

then we'd get beat on the very last play, you forgot to mention the whistle after 00:00 is on the board.

I consider myself a genious when I picked up Rackers when Feely went on a bye, that week he got me 23 fantasy points :). That and when I stuck in AJ vs the Rams. Have fun a GL to all in FF playoffs.

Why? Mathis is younger and has done better on kickreturns. Or did you mean Swinton in Bradford's place?

I'm talking about Reggie over Bradford, as well as punt returns.

Swinton is not an overly good WR. He would be a step down from bradford and that is saying alot. I would like to see Morency get some work on punt returns though.

Here is a little scoop for ya....I hear we will see Donovan Morgan on some Punt retuns and possibly in the line up in some packages this weekend.

Vinny I heard some tidbits and I would doubt that Donovan Morgan is in as a wideout. He does have experience returning punts though. Morgan may get in if Gaffney and Braford are unavailable. I dont see him leapfrogging Gaffney, Mathis, or Armstrong.

They want to get a look at him before the season ends. Don't bet against me on this one! Did he return punts at Louisiana-Lafayette? I know he hasn't done it in the NFL. Expect to see number 11 out there this week.

He did return in college, so he does have the ability and he has done it in practice. I am not completely sure, but he has not worked with the first team. I am not saying he wont be out there, but I just doubt it unless we go 4 out.

No vin it is not that, but well I cant really talk about it on the MB for everyone, but let's just say knowledge cant readily be made available to the MB unfortunately. I dont know your source, and Morgan has gotten more work since he was moved up a while ago. I just dont remember "hearing" about him getting in other than 4 out and some 3 receiver stack sets.

geesh...what do you think I meant when I typed Morgan is "possibly in the line up in some packages". You basically state the same thing after I posted that.

I mean he was not stated as really anything more than an after thought in those formations. That is why I said you could be right and noted it. Damn Vinny what is the problem you seem a lil hostile.

I don't see any punt retuns for Morgan

While you guys were trying to outscoop each other, Casserly was talking this morning on his weekly radio show about Morgan (he called him Quincy:tomato: ) seeing work on punt teams in practice this week, so just based on that news it's not out of the question that we could see him on Sunday.

I had posted this yesterday:

Hard as this may be to believe, I've heard that the coaches are planning to have Armstrong inactive this week. I hope something changes, because this makes little sense to me.

in this thread: http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/showthread.php?t=15712&page=2

The rest of the news I heard through the grapevine was that Armstrong was being benched for an NFLe guy, but I found that too hard to believe to post. Go figure.

Edit to add the conclusion I forgot:

Anyway, apparently Vinny is right and there will be some PT available for him.

I remember looking projecting the rest of our season earlier this year. This was the only other win I saw on the schedule. The Texans can win this one but I don't think they go on the road and beat Jax. Traveling to SF for the last game of a terrible season, I don't see a win. That being said the Cards definitely have a QB that can throw on us and a couple WR's that can get open. Good luck Texans this is probably your last chance at a win this year.

bickering, back stabbing & in house fighting over how the Texans will mess up the draft and trade down instead of taking Reggie Bush, oh wait you mean the game against the high flying Cardinals Sunday?

basicly same thing the Texans will try to mess up the draft and do everything to win :pigfly:

I think both the Cards and the 49ers are winnable games. Although I'd like the Texans to give us a Christmas present next Saturday and beat the Jaguars, especially if it knocks them out of the playoff hunt. :D

How 'bout that fishing photo, PM me and tell me about it. I live in Baytown and stay on Trinity Bay as much as possible. Other than football, fishing is my 2nd passion.

I will be in 119C Sunday seeing if he can.

No kidding on the fishing photo. I used to do a ton of offshore fishing with a buddy of mine and since seeing that photo I've been tempted to go dig out my old pics..... we used to catch the crap out of the king and ling - and everything else imaginable inside of 30 miles. Lots of stories to share on that front.... Now I'm just a landlubber.

Good Stuff! For some reason I'm thinkin this game is gonna be close...Stickin with the Cards Baby! 21-17...You Texans Fans are really cool! Good Luck the rest of the way.....PLEASE BEAT THE JAGS! CardsFan
