So we all know Case is starting Sunday night on national TV. It'll be his first home game and I'm sure the entire city will have his back. However, something else may be on his side this game as well...

We're in BATTLE RED.

Now other than the obvious fact that red is statistically shown to be a more menacing color to your opponent, here's something else:

Garret Graham in Battle Red:

Now, one of Case's favorite targets at the U of H, Patrick Edwards:

So not only will it be his first home game, BUT WE WILL BE IN THE SAME EXACT COLORS AS HIS COLLEGE TEAM! He's gonna be seein' them all over the place! He'll think, this is just like the good old days! It's gonna be zoppity!

Who's with me?? :doot:

battle red jerseys should be our regular home jerseys and the all blue our regular road jerseys with the all white as our alternative.

The white and blue jersey combo is very dull, lame, and almost as hideous as the rockets regular jerseys.

Interesting indeed. Case's home debut in Battle Red, just like the Cougars.

If we win that game behind Case, the city will go freaking nuts.

Disagree with everything you said there. Battle Red jerseys are great but the Steel Blue is our home color and it looks fantastic.

You can't wear dark colors on the road unless the home team decides to wear white.

You don't just WEAR battle red whenever. Battle red is not to be wasted. No, battle red is for special battle fighting.

I hope we wear the blue letterman jackets with the bedazzled numbers on the shoulders and some cute pink tights to really maximize our fashions.

Jags were the battle red game last year and 2011 I believe. I hope we can end our prime time woes this week.

I'm pretty sure the Ravens were the Battle Red game last year...and I've always been of the opinion that red should be our regular home jerseys...they look great.

This reeks of fanboi

count this as a loss guys, y'all know what indy did to the broncos.

Yeah, but we're not the Broncos.

Uh, uh-oh we're not even close to the Broncos. :mariopalm:

And prime time for a not-so-prime-time team. I hope Case can pull off some magic and shake us of our prime time woes.

Here's for hoping. :barman:

Style before substance appears to be the Texans way.

Is Gary going to be coaching?

If so take the (Colts) opponents and the points. So far that's been a sure winner this yr.

Ahhhhhh...but what about what they did the week before losing to the Chargers (a team we beat with Matt Schaub as the starter) on the road.

No absolutes in the NFL (or pretty much anywhere else for that matter).

I have to agree with Lord Bills (for the 1st time ever). I prefer Battle Red. Steel Blue looks drab. I've always felt that way.

I don't think we will win this game BUT I feel like we have a chance with Keemun at the helm. If Schaub was named starter I don't think we would stand a chance.

The way keenum showed how well he could extend plays against a defense as aggressive as KC was impressive. He still has a lot of room for improvement but I think the kid looks promising.

I'm all in with keenum.

I hope Keenum doesn't end up sucking, this city's emergency managment system will be put into defcon 1.

You just stow that kind of talk mister!

Sure, we're not the Broncos. We're not running around in our fancy orange uniforms with our Peyton Manning winning every game like it's automatic and crapping miracle completions out on demand. No! That's not us. We're Texans and we work for our touchdowns on long, slow, painful drives that chisel character out of blocks of adamantium every single time we do it.

We're 2-5 and our backs are up against the wall. Our coach is going to be fired if this keeps up and we just cut and replaced nearly 10% of our roster because we just friggin felt like it! We are facing oblivion and a return to the basement of our division if we don't get our collective crap together and every single man on that roster (including the five we just added who don't even know what room their position coaches hold meetings in yet) knows it.

In short the Texans are a team of very dangerous men. They have nothing to lose and no reason to hold back anything for later in the season. There is no later. There's not a soul in this world who thinks that they stand a good chance of winning this game or even being in it after the first quarter.

That's why they'll win. That and Case Keenum bringing the thunder down on the Colts who are going to walk into Reliant ready to get started on another double-digit win streak over the Texans. Ain't happening.

I predict the Texans will open a can of 5-game-losing-streak-frustrated-like-a-mother****er (TM) Whoop-Ass on the Colts Sunday night.

"Hallelujah! Holy ****! Where's the Tylenol?"

Give Newton some help when Mathis is on him or move the pocket and Keenum should be just fine (I hope).

Please Kubiak, don't be too stubborn.

Those two are keepers.

Some face-painting Texans "ultimate fan" needs to get busy with the "Captain Texans" uniform. Deep Steel Blue, big Texans logo "T" on his forehead (In the Texans font of course), and a shield that has the Texas flag on it. Frankly I'm surprised that guy hasn't shown up yet to a game. I know he's out there.

Yeah. It's got to be those fancy juniforms.

I'm going to have to pre game it up from here on out.

Usually it's less beer and more watching, it's going to have to shift to more been and more fun now, and lack of remembering most of the game..

Win or lose, I love BRD. Are we rocking the red pants this time or white like last year?

Those red pants should be burned, the ketchup bottle unis were god awful. It took away the whole menacing red thing.

Idk if the white needs to be there for some symbolic reason, but I have to admit I liked better the red jersey with red pants than the red jersey with white pants.

Just a thought :user:... ya know how the pocket can move around with the QB?

Why not have the pocket move around Newton?

Problem solved!

Herv, I sure hope you're right on this. They need to have "their back against the wall" mentality from here on out. It's definitely going to be tough but I think it's still possible for them to make a "wildcard" spot if they play with that attitude. I'll be at the game somewhere in the nosebleed section cheering on the Texans, hoping Case can work his magic, and the defense can stop Luck & company. :hurrah: :texflag:

do you remember HOU@IND 2011? maybe this time is our turn :)

I think it's all about effort. Hopefully they were giving less than 110% on every play because of Schaub. With Case in there, that excuse is gone. If they play with the kind of effort they had in the past, the ball will start to bounce our way. We'll get those turnovers that have been missing from our game, & we'll pick up 3rd & 1.

It's all about effort. That's how Danny Woodhead & Shane Vareen kicked our tails last season, or how we lost to the Vikings after holding the best running back in the league 86 yards when he averaged 131 ypg & was chasing history, the rest of that team stepped up their effort.
