Football Gameplan's 2014 NFL Midseason Mock Draft Video

Thanks Beerlover! What's your thoughts on Johnny Mac?

Lightening in a bottle just can't be contained. I feel most Texan fans would like to see how rest of season unfolds with Case getting majority of reps to see if they already have lightening in a bottle.

Manziel mechanics look much improved from even last season, so he does possess work ethic, talent, mobility, intangibles just come naturally plus his leadership skills excell in pressure situations. I do fear his size moving forward that in scrambling some point he's going to be stunned or injured & lose that mobility, so I would advise him to avoid those situations, just dance in the pocket, avoid contact & create windows downfield. I don't think he is a bad person either, just blessed with a very active mind & enjoys life in general, nothing wrong with that. Charitable work, helping those less fortunate, working with handicapped kids stuff like that will really build his character & keep his focus on important things in life besides football.

In a nutshell I have no problem with a team taking him top 10 if they need a QB & are willing to mold system around his skill set. Like you mentioned he would fit very well in Texans zone scheme, Keenum should prove likewise, at least that is the hope :wesmantexanfan:

I also wouldn't have a problem with Manziel; to me, he's at his scariest when he plays like he did in the 4th quarter of the Alabama game (whom he dropped a 40-burger on): fakes passes so hard it even got the camera, and shifted between scramble mode and calmly bouncing around watching his reads, all at-will.

Building an offense around him like Kubiak did with Case and running the Pistol or hiring Sumlin as Kubiak's replacement could be very effective; we would need to invest in the offensive line to let him work his magic, though.

The scariest thing to me would be Manziel/Sumlin with an actual defense. :scarygirl:

I don't like the JFF pick that much, and I'm an Aggie...

JFF just doesn't strike me as a smart QB, in fact I think he makes a lot of would-be mistakes, but gets bailed out by teammates. I don't think he has what it takes to be a 2-3 read pocket passer with mobility like Russell Wilson. Being an Aggie, I'll root for him to do well in the NFL, I just hope it's with another team, because I think he's going to be a lot like Michael Vick (minus the dog murdering). I think he will have some crazy awesome games, but he will make a lot of mistakes along the way that costs his team games. I don't foresee Manziel being a consistent QB, so I gotta go with no on that. I really can't see Kubiak drafting him either, but I hope he's replaced next year.

Honestly, I think the Browns will try to get either Matthews or Evans with their early 1st and take Manziel with the 1st from the Colts.

if it wasnt for the off-field troubles i think its a good chance to happen. with the run game and thr zbs i think he fits in nicely and wouldnt be relied upon to be the focal point of the offence which could make him more damaging

dude certainly has "it", but manziel reminds me too much of vince young with maturity and mental issues. i dont think he has what's required to excel at the next level when he's asked to be a quarterback.

using your mock, i'd much rather have the aggie you select next. we have a HUUUGE deficiency at right tackle that is crippling our offense both running and passing. matthews would make a fantastic bookend with duane brown, and his rookie contract would near coincide with brown's deal - giving us a lot of flexibility down the line. i know we wont be drafting high enough to get him, but it certainly would be nice.
