That's right... I'm still a believer! I'm tired of all the negative posts around here. Call me an optimist, a sunshine pumper, naive, stupid, idiotic... I don't care! I still believe we can win it all, regardless of who our QB is.

I see an offense that can move against the league's best defenses, a defense that can dominate, and a special teams that can... (ok, I won't get carried away with the optimism). We are losing because of mental mistakes, not because the other team is better or more talented. Mistakes can be fixed!

The 2010 Packers started off 3-3, the 2011 Giants started off 6-6, and we all know how their season's ended.

So chime in if you still believe! I can't be the only one.

I believe we'll win the AFC South.

I believe we'll be in the AFC Championship game.

I believe Matt will throw a pick 6 on the first passing play of the game & the Texans will not be able to recover.

I believe in Schaub. If he can shred the Seattle #1 defense to take the texans to 20-3 at halftime, then He can do anything. He is just going through a rough patch. I hope we win the superbowl and make all the haters look dumb.

I'm in.

They aren't really out of it and again...stranger things have happened in the NFL than some 2-3 team simply turning it around.

Does it seem unlikely? Yes. With the schedule they have making the playoffs seem like a tall mountain to climb...but I think it's still very much possible.

Well that explains why he's so immobile and has a "noodle arm" on game day. He's too busy doing something that saps all his strength the night before! :shades:
Yes, that why he might not have 100% concentration sometimes.

and for some reason I'm a little less angry than before.

How can we not believe in someone this cool

Schaub.jpg

Did you watch Moneyball, and remember the scene where scouts we discussing a player... And mentioned he had an ugly gf, which meant he lacked confidence. At least we know Schaub doesn't have a confidence issue. Haha.

Yes, I look at the bright side of everything.

Problem is mental mistakes like u said, all week long before the SF u know that pick 6s were on Schaubs mind, and whata does he do his first pass of the game in SF. I dont think Schaub has the mental toughness to pull himself out of this slump honestly. And mgmt wont make a change, obviously so all we can do is hope Schaub doesnt continue to lose us games.

I believe in Schaub, and that the team can turn it around this season. Still a long way to go and I think the team will pull it together.

I believe I am a realist that can be a fan and see things as they are. I believe that my loyalty should be returned by management and players who do not treat me as a fool. I believe my free time is important and there are many things I can do with it, right Astros? I believe this season can turn around but I do not believe it will.

Believe? Sure you can believe we can turn things around. But Matt is like a $5 scratch-off. You keep trading in the ones that are worth $5 for another hoping to win the million dollars, but eventually you are left with a whole lotta scratch-off dust and nothing to show for it.

I believe that woman I saw walking her dog was actually La Llorona and la chupacabra.

I'm pinning my hope on this:

Last year at this time, and for several weeks after, this team looked like the best team in the NFL. The whole town was buying into it, although it turned out that the team was never actually as good as it seemed.

I'm hoping that the opposite is true now.
Things look bad. Really bad.
My hope is that when the season is said and done, looking back, we will realize the Texans were never really as bad as they seemed in week 5.

Not only is she hot but:

She was a Falcons cheerleader! Matt broke the rules!

Matt better get his isht straight or his lady is going to end up on a wave runner with the Geico piggy.

The good thing is that the tough schedule will expose this team for what they are.

There are really not many cupcake games left. The two against the Jags.
Rams and Raiders are mediocre teams, not horrible teams you can walk in and just expect a automatic win against.

The rest of the games are against potential playoff teams. They either nut up, win enough to get into the playoffs and become that battle tested team that isn't as bad as it's record suggests...or they fold and lose most of their games any ways.

I had this team at 1 - 4 to start the season, then come on strong to end it... I'm one game up on my thoughts, but I can't say I'm feeling positive about that "coming on strong" to end the season... but there are many games to go, and anything can happen... count me in as a believer :)

Checking in! I believe that the Texans will recover if they win every game that is left on their schedule in the regular season. That should guarantee the #2 spot in the AFC as well.

If being "believer" means I think the Texans are going to do what they set out to do, go to the Super Bowl and possibly win it. God no. At this point I am not a believer they can get out of the AFC, let alone win the SB.

At this point I don't think they are a playoff team even though there is so much football yet to be played. Just being a realist.

I admire your optimism and approve of your post. I wish I could be as confident myself. Personally speaking, you seem like a good guy.

If Schaub were the only worry I could get behind this optimism, but we have a bad kicker, bad coverage teams, bad offensive line and a shaky run defense. Those are a bunch of things to fix.

Meh... I'm a believer.

Not just this season, but every season with the Texans but including going back to the Oilers.

I look at it this way......

2 of the 3 Texans losses were out of conference (which has nothing to do with tie-breakers). The only conference loss was out of division (and yes, it is a conference loss).

Right the ship!! That's it!!!!

And for the love of all that is Holy, this Sunday don't boo when Schaub throws the ball away for an incompletion. Boo when he makes a bone-headed play.

BTW for some of you people: Throwing the ball away is not necessarily a bone-headed play. Sometimes, that's a smart play.

Well he does have to throw the ball at or near the line of scrimmage which at times gets interesting with Mr. Schaub I love it when a smart QB throws the ball away, just get it there at least, and with some zip right outta bounds, not a sleepy feather just floating in the wind inside the field of play.

I believe you are going to owe me some $$$$.

I also believe 8 yrs are enough. Of course I wouldn't be in this situation because I would've fired Gary after 2010.

So start up with the stats and same old tired excuses. But this team is what it is and that's far from the SB contender that they were claiming themselves to be. In short the 2013 Houston Texans are a fraud. There I said it.

Let me give you a stat you can chew on since your a stat guy.

The Houston Texans are 4-7 in the last 11 games they've played. This yr they look like a team that is resting on its past laurels to me.

Unfortunately that rules out any 5 step drops. Because after 4 steps Noodles can no longer throw past the line of scrimmage.

I prefer to look at it as 10-6, 12-4, & 2-3. When we were losing we weren't allowed to take the last 4 games of the previous season & add it to the first 4 games of the new season.

No need to start changing rules again. Only thing that matters now, are the next 11, not the last unless you like to wallow in misery.
