Trindon Holliday just returned another Kickoff for TD

Yesterday

Waterboy
Good thing we dropped him and replaced him with someone with zero explosiveness who struggles to get the ball back to the 20...

Seriously, wtf Texans special teams. Add that to the list of things to hate...other than Wade's D, I'm sick and tired of this whole team.

Anyone with two eyes could see this coming.
It only took me two returns by Holliday for the Texans to see that he was going to be the best returner in the league.
Unfortunately, Kubiak is too averse to risk to let it play out.

Well Holliday is average at returns for us so we cut him, Schaub is below average at QB for us so we extend him, makes perfect sense :kitten:

Keyshawn Martin has 0% chance if ever returning a kick...what a awful decision to let him go

The point i was trying to make was that it's the system as much or more than the player...our blocking and special teams coaching is so bad that look at what someone who struggled in our system is doing with an actually competent coach...

Kubiak is too tight. He gets that upset stomach face and he doesn't let guys play loose.

It's why trindon and Jacoby couldn't be themselves here.

But what I still am not sure about is whether it's Matt that sucks his aggressiveness away or if it's just who he is. I'm leaning more towards Matt. It's like we can't afford mistakes anywhere else because our QB has the quota wrapped up.

I'd give kubiak a shot with a better QB and I think this would be a totally different team. I think we'd do a lot of things differently if we had a qb that could make up for mistakes vs one that makes them and can't make anything happen for others.

Matt Schaub is a step up from Carr. That's it.

Holliday doesn't fit the good ol boy system here in Houston.

I think guys are playing too tight because they are worried more about limiting mistakes than playing loose and making plays.

I think guys like Martin, Jean, & even Jacoby are high risk, high rewards kind of guys. they're most likely going to miss a bunch of balls, but you gotta keep throwing to them because of the play they might make.

If you're going to drop back 50 times or so.... instead of taking sacks those could be thrown at Martin/Jean...

Did Posey play? Did anyone see him on the field?

That is crazy. Unless they are open, you either throw it away or take the sack. Forcing balls to receivers because they might make a play is how interceptions happen.

Never said anything about forcing. Of course they need to be open. The way we treat them though, they are hardly ever on the field. They need more snaps & when they're on the field the QB needs to consider them if they are open & not force it to his more trusted targets.

He was a good returner here but with our horrible special teams coaching he couldn't even get the ball to the 20yd line.

CP just said that Holliday has now played 16 games with the Broncos, counting playoff games. He has 6 returns for TDs.

profootballreference and espn have him down for 2 punt return TDs and 2 kick return TDs (none in their one playoff game).

He was a high risk high reward guy while here in Houston .... We in hindsight only focus on all the good he's done since he left but forget the turnovers & near misses when he was here that led to his exit.
