Does Theisman listen to himself talk?

Theisman once again argued with himself in another Sunday Night NFL game on ESPN.

On whether to go for it on 4th and 1:

Theisman What do you have to lose, why not go for it?

Field goal made

Theisman That's why you kick the field goal...

This reminds me of the classic Theisman argument during the Texans/Chiefs game

On whether to go for it on 4th and 3 on the Chiefs 17 yard line:

Theisman You gotta go for it, I think it is the right move, you are so far behind and if you don't get it then at least the Chiefs have bad field position

Texans call timeout, after commercial the Texans kick a field goal

Theisman Well that's a smart move, going for it is really risky and you don't want to go this far and not put points on the board

Do they even need other commentators in the booth?

Yeah, my main reason for watching Sunday night football is to listen to the yahoo commentators, funny stuff...

I never have understood why the networks think we will want more to listen to someone who is famous--I mean sportscasters. Who cares? Why don't they just find one of the billions of people out on the streets who aren't complete morons and let a few of them do it. If I were running the show, that would happen like 3 times and I'd say, "OK, Theisman's done. Find somebody with a brain."

I mean I don't mean to come off like it angers me or anything. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Is it Theisman and Al Michaels next year when MNF moves to ESPN?

Who is with Madden on NBC? Have they said yet?

I actually like to listen to Theisman and McGuire argue, it's at least entertaining in a goofy way. And I think Mike Patrick is underated as a play by play guy. I can still remember him calling the Texans first TD vs the Cowboys and yelling "Are you kidding me!?"

I think I'm the only one here that actually thinks Joe is a good broadcaster. I kind of like the broadcasters that have been players. To me they're the ones that know the most or should anyway.

I can't watch John Madden. He's stumbles and bumbles too much. To me he's not very well spoken. But yea he's VERY smart. Why he can't express himself better I don't know. I always think of Frank Caliendo when I hear John. That's part of my problem with him I guess.

John repeats himself too much for my tastes. He will pick one thing going on.. like LT being a good RB.. and EVERY FRIGGIN PLAY he will have some comment on LT and his rushing ability..and it will go on for the entire quarter...if not the whole game.

Yep he's just not very organized with his thoughts. But I'll give him smart because he is that. And he's always had really high paying announcing jobs so I know I'm in the minority as far as liking Madden. I guess that shows how much attention I pay to Theisman. He's well spoken which is what I like but I never pay much attention to the "facts" he's giving out. I use to love MNF. Now I rarely watch it at all.

The ESPN Sunday night crew is the worst. I wish Jaworski would do some analyst work in the booth.
