Death to Google Ads! Texans Talk Tip Jar! 🍺😎👍
Thanks for your support!

And we thought the throwing the season talk was bad before?

that was the most blatant throwing of a sporting event since boxing.

I've never seen Kris Brown miss one that bad. Something smells fishy. Oh well, the Texans will not be denied the #1 pick.

that was a gross display of throwing a game, it was just too blatant

...and Kris Brown was my fantasy kicker this week. If I lose because he was told to take a dive I'll be really sore.

No way if we were throwing games away they would of told mathis to fair catch the kick off. and we would let our offense take the field more of a guarantee we dont win that way.

When Mathis had his facemask ripped down for the penalty, Bob McNair was saying "Holy $%#! What do we do now!? We've got a chip shot field goal now you fools!! You better think of something quick or you can kiss the #1 pick goodbye."

I don't really believe very many people will agree with me but I really do think the fix is in here. Whether it's to use the pick on multiple draft picks in a trade down or whether it's Reggie Bush fever I don't know but I do know one thing. The Texans are throwing games now to get the #1 pick.

Either that or they've completely given up on this season and staff. Same thing really.

Hey it worked for the Spurs.

Man! I joke about throwing games but........

...I'm not sure what I just saw....is it really possible that we threw a game? I mean, I doubt it but that kick lloked bad even as he approached the ball. Something weird happened there, I think!

I've seen old ladies make better kicks for free air-fare during the half-time promotion. Kris Brown is much better than an old lady.

Im going to have to agree with this one...his approach looked horrible...he had already pulled up and out of his kick before he reached the ball...that thing had NO CHANCE of splitting the uprights...

I think there are some delusional people on this board. On both sides of the arguement. BTW I don't think they are throwing the game.

Maybe not . . . but I can see why one could be suspicious, considering all the talk about the number one pick. When have you EVER seen Brown pull a kick like that?

If you going to take a dive, be subtle, not obvious.

ummmmmm... so yeah... either we are throwing these games OR it is our destiny to get that number one pick and God is helping out.

I would just like to point out that after Kris kicked the ball he just turned around and un did his strap and it didnt really seem like he was REALLY mad at himself and that he was just pretending so i think he is a bad actor and that he threw this game.

only thing JB said on foxsports (no highlights) is the Brown missed a 30 yarder and wonders if the Texans have Bush on their mind.. Then he said maybe he shouldn't have said that.

I think they were a bit too obvious about this one. It's going to draw a lot of attention this week and maybe for the rest of the season if they keep these kind of "incidents" up for the last three games.

You are right. I only hope that Bush shocks everyone by staying in school to finish.

"Shoeless" Brown Downs Texans

After losing in the final minute in each of the two games prior to Sunday's battle with the Titans, the Texans were already hearing whispers about whether they were tanking games to earn the top pick in next year's draft. Now those whispers ought to become a bit louder. The Texans blew another lead, not to mention a golden opporunity to force overtime, in the 13-10 loss to the Titans.

With a chance to tie the game, kicker Kris Brown wildly missed a 38-yard field goal attempt with no time left on the clock. It was his second miss of the game, both coming from within 40 yards. Brown had only missed once from that distance all season before Sunday.

Special teams play also gave up the Titans' lone touchdown of the game. Pacman Jones returned a punt 52 yards to wipe out the Texans' 10-3 lead in the third quarter.

Brown's first missed field goal attempt of the game came earlier in the fourth quarter, following a fake attempt in which he ran four yards for a first down. The true attempt later in the drive was blocked by Titans safety Tank Williams, protecting the tie score, 10-10.

On the ensuing drive, the Titans drove downfield to the Texans' 5-yard line, setting up Rob Bironas for his game-winning field goal attempt. Following an offsides penalty on Texans tackle Seth Payne, Bironas booted a 21-yard attempt for the win with ten seconds to play.

I just don't see the team throwing games for Bush. It doesn't make sense. DD isn't that bad.

Not being upset about losing is one thing - actively giving it up ... I just don't know. I mean, Kris never screws up like that. No way we'll stop the talk (without winning) now, though.

That's the thing--had Brown missed it by a few feet, everyone would just be saying the Texans blew another one. But he REALLY, REALLY sent that ball somewhere it wasn't supposed to go. Conspiracy theorists, you have your "evidence" now!

from a Jets message board. I was curious to see how they were reacting to losing the Bush sweepstakes by winning a meaningless game:

"its a crying shame, but since the texans have already decided to throw the rest of the season to get bush, we might as well win a game or two..."

I don't think you can really blame Kris. He is doing what the boss says. Y'all know how it is, whether you agree with what you are told to do....you do it because you need that paycheck. Kris Brown is no different.

Blame needs laid upon the one who told him to do it. Just which boss was it? :hmmm:

I just can't see guys tanking it. I am not saying it can't happen yet.. a player is one play away ending a career in football. and a guys work history/resume is on game film

Oh, this talk of intentionally throwing the game is ridiculous. Did the Texans allow the Titans to block the FG attempt earlier? We are just snake bit. And destiny is leading us to that #1 pick. That's how you explain 3rd string rookie QB's beating you after you had the game won, and how you explain Carr's batted INT for a TD in Baltimore last week, and it's how you explain Kris Brown missing a FG and having another blocked. All in 3 successive weeks.

Some one needs to tell Jerome Mathis that the team is trying to throw these games. He almost single handedly won this game for us, with that kick return. This isn't the first time this season where a last minute Mathis kick return changed the outlook on the game. He is sooooo good. (or dangerous if you pulling for that #1 pick.)

Yeah if Mathis was going to try to have a good return, he probably should have stepped out of bounds at like the 35 or 38, that way when we missed the field goal it would have been just out of reach. Kris Brown was probably thinking to himself "how am i going to miss this? it is really short"

I am going to regret this. No I'm not.

Here goes...
You can call it Karma, you can call it destiny, you can call it whatever smokescreen PC-rooted name you want to.
But that isn't what is happening. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, is something going on? Try it for a third time, HELLO...I think I see a pattern here. :bomb:
The comedy of errors excuse just isn't holding water anymore for me. To me, it is VERY obvious. That final kick was the justifier.

Well, that one oughta send me back on the pine.
I still love ya, my Texans boys. But you really need a lesson in being subtle.

Agreed . Mathis is the man ! I'm just wondering if he can do as well catching the ball as he does returning kicks . Maybe he could be our next DD , just the WR version !

As far as the game being thrown , it REALLY looked that way . I wonder if it will get any looks from the NFL office concerning intentionally losing ... :bomb:

:pigfly:
We can't be losing on purpose, that would require the players to actualy do what the coaches ask and they haven't been able to do that all year. And Casserly cain't be ordering it from above Capers and he haven't been on the same page all year either. Nope this is just pure dumb luck, which happens a lot when you are bad!

One thought about Bush and DD would make a exiting team. Move Bush out to Flanker a bunch and could you just imagine him and Mathis on kickoffs?
I'd like to see both of those guys do some reverses and double reverses. Could you see everyone follwing Bush on a fake Double reverse and Mathis keeps it? Lots of possabilities we would just need a coach with some imagination?:texflag:

We can't get out of our own way. This is why losing is said to be contagious.
We definatly have the symptoms for one hell of a cold. I think it is terminal.
