Those are good. But the main thing I want to focus on is that Titans Pass rush. It looked fearsome last week. Jurrell Casey looks like something clicked.... & he'll be lining up against Chris Myers.
I hope we open with a couple of middle screens, to see what's what before we try anything deep.

Look at it this way, every time we have an "only played one half well" game, so did the other team.

I can't help but think that the only playing one half thing has a lot to do with adjustments, it's something that Kubiak has improved at no end over the past 3 years.
I think he's reached a stage where he's all seeing about what his own players are capable of and what he can do to change things for the better...I've no longer got issues about the "turtle" with a lead because I don't see it beating us often, and if things aren't clicking first half...I have confidence in our ability to make a game of it in the second.
I really like that our D has come through with a fantastic second half performance last week and am absolutely willing to write off the poor first half showing, all of a sudden I'm seeing depth at positions I didn't see it before, DE and safety. The mix at ILB will improve with Sharpton coming back.
I've long been a big Sharpton fan, the injuries are a huge issue so I won't rely on the dude, but when healthy he brings it. Joe mays looked better than expected too, so as long as Cush can come up with the goods for that big play or two each week until he gets back to 100%, I've got a lot of faith in that group.
I can't wait for this game! I think we're going to lay something down this week with smiffy, reed, sharpton back in the mix and an O also seemingly on the upswing!

For the most part.. but remember Denver last year? If I were one of their fans, I'd say "we didn't show up in the first half, weren't prepared.... ran out of time in the second."
Even though the Texans played outstanding football in both halfs.
I wouldn't say I've "long been a fan" but I do appreciate what he brings & think a healthy Sharpton is very underrated by our fans.
Mays... he played about what I expected, the thing I hope he brings is an ability to get after the QB, ala Cushing. Something I think Sharpton lacks. It was mentioned very often in our last game, that Cushing is our primary blitzer, & the other teams know it. I'd like for either Mays or Sharpton to gain some noteriety in that department, so Cush can drop back into zone more often & it would be less predictable when he does blitz.
At the very least, when the QB sees Brian drop into coverage, I don't want them thinking, "Shew..... " I want them looking for that other LB.

Mays was destroying blockers last week. A physicality that Sharpton, Dobbins and James all lacked last season. Great compliment to Cushing

We're in the same division, we play each other twice a year...... but the series record is 14-8.... tacks. Not as lopsided as our 4-18 record versus the Colts. If it weren't "accepted" that the AFC South goes through Houston, they (the Colts) probably wouldn't give two thoughts to our game.
I mean we're 13-9 against the Jags, do we consider that a rivalry?
Yeah, there's the Bud Adams thing & the Oilers history & all that, but the Titans fans don't care about that. We haven't beaten them to keep them out of the play offs, they haven't beaten us to keep us out of the play offs..... We're only just now getting to be a "good" team & the rest of our division don't really have a lot going on... maybe the Colts have aspirations, but we'll see come December.

I could almost accept that concept if it didn't keep on happening also with relatively lowly teams like the Chargers last week.
That's the thing... who knows who's "lowly" this early in the season? Last year we saw a "lowly" Colts team go 11-5 and make it to the playoffs. One of this year's "lowly" teams, the Chiefs, is 2-0... The Chargers were supposed to be "lowly" and the Eagles, equipped with their shiny, new, high-octane offense were supposed to be unstoppable. No one told the Chargers. The AFC North, home of the world champs has all of ONE WIN between all four teams (okay, they'll have two after MNF tonight).
I guess my point is that we won't really have a good gauge of who's powerful and who's just pretending until mid-October. ...maybe later than that.
So, while my B/P would appreciate a couple of stress-free blowout wins, I'll take a win anyway I can get it.
And just between us chickens, the game that really scares me crapless is Seattle.
Not me. We're either going to win it, or we're going to lose it. Doesn't really matter either way. Different conference & all. If we're going to lose... let's lose the non-conference games.
Their pass rush looked better than last year. Either that or our OL is worse. I thought Newton did a fine job staying in front of his man, but he's still giving up too much ground. Don't know what's going on with 76... but I trust he'll figure it out.
Still think we can do better than Wade Smith.

It was Sharpton that took on blocks well and had the quality snaps.
Mays was cleared out badly on two medium runs by Johnson.
The safety was good; but really, it was courtesy of Watt.
Mays was unblocked, and Manning was also there to help.
Other game notes, after going through the game with the two All-22 View, it is confirmed that the O-line played fairly well, considering how many times we passed the ball.
One sack was on Newton; one was on Foster; the third one was a mix-up in the line call with nobody there to pick up the blitzer (the line didn't get beat; they just fail to make the correct protection call; in that case, I'm afraid it falls on the QB to recognize the free blitzer???)
Of the five QB hurries/pressures given up by the line; two was due to a free blitzer, so I don't quite know whether the QB needs to take in that task or not.
Graham and Foster each allowed two pressures, and Tate had that questionable holding call against him.
I didn't pay attention to the holds by the Titans O-line, but I did catch their LT with one arm around our guy to tackle him, and it wasn't called.
From what I saw, it was Antonio. He broke through the line & wrapped an arm around Cj3.8ypc. He wasn't able to bring him down in the middle of the endzone. However, this gave Mays time to get to the goal line where Cj3.8ypc met him. Cj went low, but Mays was stout at the line.
