texas vs byu

UT is a mess. Such a shame. Time for mack to go. Hes done great things but hes done. Its over. All there is to it

550 yds rushing against. I cant get over it. At what point do.you step in say 5-2 or 4-4 front. At what point do you send diaz to the locker room. Tonight was stupid. 550 yds rushing against. Lol

I had to work yesterday, didn't hear about this until this morning..... WTF??

Not a WTF they got beat, but WTF were they doing ranked 15? Could no one see this coming?

Disgusting

It's time to move on Mack. Thanks for the meories.

I cant believe how much UT misses Muschamp. Diaz incompetence knows no bounds.

Texas should consider hiring a coach/recruiter.

Texas has adopted that grandfather system, "oh your brother, or someone is you family was good, so you must be good too"

And it hasnt workied out, the talent level of UT has been on a major decline for a while, their days of dominance are way over.

Bye, bye Mack. And same goes for the AD Dobbs, time to go fellas. You've wrecked the Big 12, now apparently Mack has also wrecked UT football. Bye, bye.

Dodds is getting a million $$$$ annuity after this yr. So I'm sure he will be retiring. Mack hoped to step into the AD job. That's not going to happen.

It's sad that a track coach (Dodds) was allowed to run a great athletic dept into the ground. If you think the football program is in bad shape, check out what Barnes is doing with the Basketball program.

UT would've been better off just giving Dodds his $$$$ 4-5 yrs ago. I wouldn't want to be the next AD at UT, and have to clean up the huge mess that Dodds created. He did make UT alot of $$$$$ during his tenure though.

Dobbs was a tremendous quartermiler in college at K-State and went on to be his alma maters head track coach and then several years as the AD there. So what does his background as a track guy got to do with his performance later on as the AD at 2 major universities including UT ?

Johnny Manziel

RG3

Jameis Winston...

What do they all have in common?

Not good enough to play QB for Mac Brown...

2 of those QBs won a Heisman Trophy....

Mac Brown should have been gone 5 years ago....

I still cant believe what I saw last night. Manny will be fired on Monday, and Mack is a dead man walking.

Charlie Strong, David Shaw, or Art Briles all up fo discussion as the next head coach at Texas.

Really, you're ok with a guy in a 2nd tier sport at a 2nd tier school running what should be THE preeminent sports power in the NCAA into the ground? (I know he's made UT alot of $$$$)

The only reason Doods became AD was because he was in the NCAA enforcement division during the late 70's early 80's. Why do you think SMU got the death penalty and UT got off scot free? UT was just as dirty as SMU and this comes from a long time Longhorn fan.

Other than that Dodds had no business running a prestigous program such as the Longhorns. Since you asked the question, tell me what were Dodds qualifications at the time he was hired?

K-State is a major university? We have a different definition of what a major university AD is, obviously.

Shouldn't Luck be added to that list too. They let him get away also.

Mack needs 17 wins to pass DKR as UT's all time winningest coach.

Barring a .500 season, he won't leave until that happens.

I don't know. Royal is...well....royalty in UTland. I could see him getting 16 only to be unceremoniously fired before anything sacrilegious happens...lol.

Of course it is, and it's had a storied athletic history in basketball though maybe not football. Apparently you didn't know but it's in the Big 12 which was at one time and for some time a major athletic conference, that is until UT managed to run top flight major universities/programs out of the conference like A & M, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, etc., so lately the Big 12 ain't looking so major league.

I am so SICK of that bull **** like those schools didnt have a choice in the matter and it was all big bad Texas fault. Bebe was a mess and the big 12 was at a geographical disadvantage and could not get a conference network put together. So Texas creates its own, as Nebraska AND A&M looked into same and would have done if they wanted or could.

Texas mangled the Big 12.

EDIT: Ah hell. I was just kicking sand and having fun. I see no joy in kicking a fan while he's irate. Apologies.

The University of Texas fired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz after the Longhorns' historically bad performance against BYU, according to Orangebloods.com's Chip Brown. Brown also reports Diaz will be replaced by Greg Robinson, the former Longhorns defensive coordinator brought on during the offseason as a personnel analyst.
Diaz's defense gave up a school-record 550 rushing yards to the Cougars as the No. 15 Longhorns lost 40-21 in Provo on Saturday night. It was the first non-conference road loss for Texas since 2000.

:d:

I watched the entire game  my ass off....there was nothing more beautiful to watch than to see them getting run over by a qb with a knee brace on.

The Aggies simply felt they couldnt compete with Texas under the same circumstances so they left to get out from under the shadow Texas had created in this era. A&M mangled the Big 12 by leaving, all the while crying and laying all the blame on Texas. They voted on all the same stuff Texas did. This was a chance to separate themselves, and I cant knock em for doing so. But hell, had they stayed they might have played for the National title this year and last.

The longhorn network is a mess.. if you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks in part to UT, the Big 12 was a very strong conference with solid regional representation - that's a good thing. But now you've ended up with an abortion in regional terms with somebody from the EST zone like WV in the conference and a very watered-down group of teams compared to the previous membership. And that joke of a TV network UT has is the laughing stock of sports media - "ladies" volleyball all day long: gimme a break !

Kind of redundant, I suppose if you're a crazy UT fan you must want it, and no-one else besides does.

To me it's just stupid for any university to close off their fan base like that in this day and age & ESPN is even more stupid for thinking it would work........don't care how popular you are...I mean why would anyone else who's not a crazy fan of the team/university pay extra to see girls volleyball games, swim meets and currently, a bad football team?

LHN is actually quality, and the All-Access show has to be one of the best football shows any program has out there. As far as vollyball and the like, thats exactly part of the deal and great for those kids. If Aggy had its own network they would be eating it up. Claiming the LHN sucks is dumb, haven't met a Horn fan who thinks differently. Am I surprised Horn haters make fun of it?? Lol!

Winning cures everything. Period. Mack Browns time is up, and someone like Charlie Strong, etc will be employed to turn it around. Thats really the nuts and bolts of it. Talk is by the BMDs is that Dodds will be on his way out as well.

Hopefully Ole Miss beats Texas just as bad if not worse this weekend. We've got a spotty defense and we lost our best defensive player for 4-6 weeks during the Vandy game.

With that said our offense is so potent, I expect a high scoring game on both sides. Watch for our WRs Moncrief and Treadwell (true freshman), RBs Scott and Mathers, and QBs Wallace and Brunetti.

Ole Miss needs this game and avenge last year's loss!

And Andy Dalton, and probably Matthew Stafford.

Is David Ash hurt? I saw a few things around saying that he may or may not play against Ole Miss. If he doesn't play. . . that could be bad.
