I don't get it.

The guy (Ruxin) that was in last place didn't want to take his punishment, wearing the sacco suit, so he dropped out. Instead of filling the slot with another player the had this lavish draft party in Vegas and decided to sabotage Ruxin's team with bad picks to force him to come back.

But if this guy dropped out of the league he no longer has a team. How can they sabotage a team he doesn't have?? And why would he come to a draft party - even in Vegas - if he quit the league by folding his team?? He has nothing to draft!!

I don't get it.

Wait...WHAT??!
They made a bachelor party into a fantasy football draft???

They're wasting valuable Vegas party time with a fantasy football draft??

This makes less and less sense with each detail.

Not to be "that guy", but it wasn't Vegas, it was L.A. And in terms of why he would be so devastated by the bad picks, he only dropped out of the league to avoid the "last place" punishment. He wanted back in, and everyone knew it - but after the draft, the only way he could do that was taking an existing team/roster.

They were in LA because the winner of the "Sheeva Bowl" chooses the location of the draft, as well as Andre's (member of their league) wedding\bachelor party. If you've never seen the show you should check it out. It is hilarious, and as with most good comedies it doesn't need to always make sense.

there have been a few texans references on the show before.. season 2 or 3 owen daniels was offered in a trade, and last season ruxin took arian #1 overall..

also it was not a bachelor party it was andre's wedding party and the draft was supposed to be secret from andres fiance(not shown), thats why the board says "secret fantasy draft.." they were being asshxles to andre by having the draft at his wedding party, plus they knew ruxin would be there and they still wanted to have someone control his team thats why jj was picking for him...

You guys are right. LA not Vegas. My bad. I was half asleep still ha.

You have to watch the show to understand. It's really funny.

It's also on Netflix.

Speaking of FXX, FX is moving a lot of its shows there. I have to double check where Sons is airing next week.

It was a bachelor party. That's how they would keep it secret (the bride would likely be at a wedding party)(whatever a wedding party is beyond the group of people participating in the wedding), and that's why Jenny agreed to be Andre's best man since as the best man, she would be at the bachelor party (as the one responsible for throwing it), and therefore would be able to participate in the secret draft.

Oh - and Andre's fiance was shown - she was played by Jayma Mays.

yea it was his bachelor party i got confused since he kept talking about his wedding weekend. they brought out a huge board and wrote secret fantasy draft to mock andre since trixie said he couldnt do the draft over the wedding weekend. andre requested that it be a secret draft so trixie wouldnt find out. thats why he looked all scared and told them to keep it quiet when they showed the draft board. (this is also why i thought it was the wedding party because andre was looking around like trixie would see it)

im talking about in the clip that was posted..

BINGO!

And you have to start from the beginning to truly appreciate the characters. Jumping into the middle of a show like The League will leave you bewildered and confused.

I've only watched what's on Netflix, but the characters pretty closely mirror my group of friends. Apparently I'm the Ruxin of the group :kitten:

I keep forgetting to put this on DVR as a series. How long has it been on? I'd like to start at the beginning.

Watched the first two episodes so far - season 1, ep 1 and 2.

So far, it's a mixed reaction.

It's funny, cheeky, and has foot planted firmly in cheek. I also like the actors and the characters are sharply drawn and well written.

What I didn't expect is that a good deal of the hilarity is crass, juvenile, potentially degrading to women, and so overtly sexual in nature.

I know for a fact that both my ex-wife and GF would not find this humorous at all and both would very likely find it insulting.

Definitely enough to keep watching so far - but I hope they dial down the sexual humor a bit and try to find more funny dialogue with the fantasy football stuff, or just daily life stuff. If not, I might lose interest. Potty humor and sexual humor can be funny in small doses, but a little goes a long way for me.

The good news is, I'm a man and some of it is funny - although slightly uncomfortable at times.

My rating so far (based on the number of players on a NFL roster) is 38.

I dunno, I think Jenny is as strong a female character as it gets. But yeah, the humor is often of the high school variety.

The thing that disappoints me most about it is after the first season it's less about Fantasy and that's more of a background plot. I liked the focus in the first season.

I watched about 30 seconds of the first episode because it had J.J. Watt in it. I realized I wasn't going to like the humor and decided to turn it off instead.
