article on Bush and Us....

Has he even said he wanted to leave USC yet? He may do the same as Leinart and stay for his senior season.

Another dumb article by someone that doesn't know hardly anything about our team other than the crap he sees on TV highlights about us and decides to share his piss poor views on the internet. My advice to anyone on these message boards is to stop listening to these articles and their "expert" opinions, I wouldn't even bother reading them.

Like the team that drafts first Next Season couldnt be just as poor as the Texans this season .... bleh

Thats why they pick first , they suck

This is a florida paper, maybe its a Jag fan that doesn't want to see a divisional rival get a great player, hmm. I laughed when I read this artical, the orlando sent. is nationally known for being a crappy paper.

it cant be too much worse than our own houston chronicle...

Reggie Bush (and Vince and others) were at the Disney Boardwalk in Orlando on Thursday - where I happened to be as well, rain and all - hence the Sentinel coverage.

The columnist's suggestion that Bush should stay in school instead of entering the draft and giving himself up to the worst team in the NFL is not nearly as ridiculous as some of the reaction above this post. Although if he waited a year, he would probably just go to the worst team next year....

I just do not get why these "experts" keep saying that the Texans will be dumb not to get him. Why do we need another "not-so-every down" RB? Wells and Davis seem to complement each other nicely.

Will Bush really help Carr with the OL problems? NO!

I think this is the year that the team MUST select a top OL. There are several top quality OL in this year's draft....especially OTs.

The RB depth is solid as well if a sleeper is targeted on Day two.

Chicken or the Egg theory applies here. The battles are always won in the trenches....the DL is a problem area as well, and Walker has made his feelings public. The DL & OL need to be addressed this year.

Trading down is also an option for teams that want Bush. Maybe it is all a ploy by Bob & Charlie to get other teams excited about Bush, so that they will find someone to trade with.

THERE IS NO LOGIC WITH SELECTING REGGIE BUSH AFTER DD JUST RESIGNED!!!!

Stack the line against Bush and watch how the sweep works.

Play back off our WR's and watch how the cutback/ toss works.

Let him play slot and watch how DD works in his 'proper' role.

Also, there is NO lineman in this draft worth a top 5 pick. There is NO lineman that will grade out to the Gross/ Gallery type level. Now, there will be some GREAT value in the second round. And, if SF wants Bush and they allow us to 'Hershel Walker' them, well...see ya Reg!!

DD's gonna miss 3-4-5 games a year. He becomes a handsomely paid 3rd down back - the reason we drafted him. Cut Hollings and everything's set.

There's one weapon in this draft - there will be plenty of OL in Free Agency - there will be a new coach running the show. You don't pass up a guy like Reggie for the second coming of Kwame Harris or Kenyatta Walker - not when you can get the Whitworth's and the Giles' in the second round.

But remember - these decisioons will NOT be made by Dom and most likely, not by Charlie. McNair and the new coach will having their say. Like him or not, I'd bet that McNair would lean toward Bush for no other reason than pleasing the fans.

If Bush is the second coming of Gale Sayers, I don't see how any team could pass on him. I haven't been on the Reggie Bush bandwagon, but he's definitely special talent. And guys like him don't come around that often, especially when you've got the no. 1 pick.

I won't be surprised by whatever Bush decides to do. There are good arguments both ways. But I don't think which team he could get drafted by makes a difference in his decision, though. Like has been said, whoever picks him is going to suck regardless.

from a player's standpoint, Houston would be one of the most desired teams to come to. It's a great city, they have great facilities for the players, and a lot of young talent to build around, and I would be smart enough to realize that this was an off year and with a new coach and everything in here they will likely turn it around quickly, so from that standpoint, if I was likely going to be the #1 pick and had the choice of going to Houston this year or waiting until next year and see what team happened to be worst, I would definitely come out this year.

Well DeAngelo Williams is a top back as well. There are plent of talented RBs in this coming draft. OTs are hard to come by. Everyone knows that a team is built from the OL & DL. The Texans have problems at both, which is why they are worse now than the first few years.

If you worry about Carr staying healthy with the OL problems, how do you expect Bush to stay healthy with the same OL. And please give me the names of these solid OL fron FA. The only ones that a team lets go are either overly priced aging guys, or players that are not that great.......see the FA OL the Texans have acquired! Same goes for the DL.

Teams know that if you have solid OL & DL players, you keep them. THe Texans draft "projects" at DL & OL.....Pitts and Wand have done nothing....they are no better than backups.....when the Texans realize that games are won in the trenches...they'll start winning by getting OL & DL talent in the draft, not cast-aways from other teams.

Pitts has played quite well and is a starting quality OT in this league, maybe moreso at RT since he is a better run blocker but is still a pretty good pass blocker. Wand is not any better than a backup and that's why he doesn't start. I say we need to pick up at least two OL this year in the draft, maybe need more but probably just get two and focus on other needs after that.

I even think we could get the kid from Minnesota real late. Bigger back that has speed. Essentially that is what we need from the RB position.

Do you mean Maroney or someone else? Maroney will be a first round pick and I wouldn't get him in our current position.
