How well will the Toros do in the upcoming playoffs? Let's take a poll before the opening game. Biggest loser gets a crow dinner for Valentine's, winner gets a football autographed by Mike Rod.

We can vote again in bye week and see how opinions have changed.

No injuries and the Texans could easily be in the Super Bowl. Key injuries and we'll die quickly in the playoffs.

However, this poll is a guess plus your personal projection of the team so I'll take the Super Bowl.

We win the superbowl and then the NFL goes bankrupt and is no more, than we remain the NFL champs F...O...R...E...V...E...R

More likely: we win the AFC, & Dallas wins the NFC (despite sucking), & the NFL goes bankrupt, & the Superbowl never happens. :toropalm::kubepalm::wadepalm:

Matt Schaub said it last year - "Superbowl or bust" - I have to believe the teams goals are just as lofty this season.

I have greater faith this year than last that they will reach their goals .... Last year was a "growing pain" ....

The thing I have to question is "how wide is their window" as currently constructed. Schaub might have this year and next .... Foster probably the same considering the lifespan of an NFL tailback.

Matt Schaub said after the Patriots playoff loss that he was elite. If history tells us anything, we're winning the Super Bowl this year.

1.) Super Bowl, of course.
2.) Who the hell is Mike Rod?
In the other Texans' forum somebody posted something about a fictional player named Mike Rod and it became quite a joke. Members of both forums probably remember Mike.

Well, people who still go to the other forum might remember him.

I haven't been back that forum in years.

I thought I would be one of the only ones listing Super Bowl. I know it's not truly the most likely option, but I enjoy having my unrealistically high hopes at this time of year!

I want to change my vote. I don't think we're making the play offs.
Wow , more negativity in this thread than I expected ....

I think the door is wide open for the Texans to reach the big game.

Baltimore looks to have taken a big step back , they lost a lot of players.

New England .... If they didn't get to play the Jets and Bills 4 times , I'd have to question them making the playoffs as its Brady and .... who ?!

The Bronco's are a scary bunch but the defense will be suspect early and that Oline is not good at all , couple that with a not so mobile Peyton Manning and you have a recipe for disaster in Denver.

The Dolts shouldn't win as many games as they did last year .... Seems they got every meaningful bounce of the ball in their emotionally charged season. New OC ....

The Bungles did get better tho they play in a tough division. The chances of home field for the Bungles are probably slim.

KC improved but .... they had nowhere to go but up. Cant see them being a threat.

They get Denver & New England at home .... The two teams most think present them the greatest challenge to home field in the playoffs.
I have to admit Denver does kinda scare me offensively , but with that OL , they are one play away from Brock Osweiler as their starting QB. I wish we got them earlier in the season while Von MIller is suspended ....

All the other teams that I think could challenge the Texans are in the NFC.

To be honest , I think anything short of an appearance in the AFC title game is a disappointment.

hmmm..... can't be that tough.

Other than that I agree with what you're saying. In addition, though we have our own issues, as a whole I think we've gotten better. Moreso than any other team in the AFC.

All of those teams had problems last year.

I'm not saying its impossible or that it definitely won't happen, but if I answer honestly I would go with first round exit or missing the play offs.

But really as I've said before, what any of us think is not even relevant. It's up to them to go out and play and write their own story.

I vote for the league contracts, we lose our franchise, and are forced to watch Cowboy/Titan games.

You casually dismiss obvious losses to other teams and then say the Texans will be worse with no explanation why. How did the Texans get worse this offseason?

Relevant or not, I'd like to hear your opinion, because I value your opinion.

Really curious to know what scenario you see the Texans not even making the play offs.

There are a few things I don't like about us + I think our schedule will be harder + I think our division will be tougher

Where do you think the two wild cards teams will come from?

The Dolphins has a tough schedule.
The trio of Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals will have to beat up on each other.
The Chiefs aren't that strong, and they don't have an easy schedule either.

We'll go at least 4-2 vs our rivals and at least 6-4 against the rest.
10-6 should be plenty enough for a wild card spot.

This is a smart man. I do NOT get all the Broncos and Pats love. They both regressed this offseason.

And all those teams got worse this year. Deion Sanders got it right, he feels the only team in the AFC that got better was Houston. I wouldn't put much creedance into it but last year when we were the media darlings for the Superbowl he was one of the few that said don't get too far ahead of yourself.

You could be right.

It's not something I'm going to debate though because I'm not going to sit here and bang a drum for the team to not do well.

I don't care what Deion says. Or really anyone else for that matter. My own thoughts on this are not relevant. Off season is over. I gave my honest opinion. Hopefully my feelings are waaaaay off base. But he season is about to start. I'm pretty much deaf to anything anyone says about the team at this point. All the talking and feel good moves are done. It's time to go out and do it. They are in control. I'm just an observer/fan.

Hey we all have an opinion and I don't totally disagree with you. But when the season is starting you can only go on what you have. Deion just made a comment that is correct and stuck with me.

The Pats had an offense focused on their two TE's and the running game. One of those TE's is going to prison and the other has so many STD's it is making his back hurt. I read on ESPN's twitter feed the other day that belichek has been working the waiver wire more than normal. That tells "me" that he doesn't have 100% faith in them. Amendola is an injury waiting to happen and its already showing.

The Broncos lost Dumervil due to stupidity, Miller is suspended the first 6 games cause of the chronic, they lost their starting center and they wanted to run the ball more to try and minimize the stress on mannings arm before it just falls off.

I may come off as a homer here but the Texans are in a REALLY good spot right now. We have our own issues: OLB can be the bane of this defense and we need Smith back at LG.

The only thing I'm sure about right now, is the Bengals winning the North & I wouldn't put them out of the AFC Championship race.

The only way I see us missing the play offs is we experience a perfect storm of non-sense. Everything we fear comes true. Reed is in & out all year, never playing close to what we expected, missing the final four. JJ Watt gets 18 sacks & no one else has more than 3. Schaub's foot is killing him, but Kubiak keeps throwing him out there because Matt says he can handle it. I don't want to jinx Arian or Ben, so just use your imagination. Our OL is struggling with injuries starting week 1. Sam Montgomery is playing a lot of minutes because our LBs have been decimated & we find out why he was off everybody's draftboard.....

Just like every team, there's a whole slew of things that could go wrong, but I think we're snake bit.... cursed, because we didn't draft Tebow when we had a chance.
