Watching NFLN Preseason wrap-a-round, Ladanian Tomlinson said he's expecting the Jets to be 1-8 at the bye. Kurt Warner said it's way to early to hand the Jets 8 losses, to which LT responds, "Have you seen their schedule, it's brutal."

So I looked.

Now I know this is just the preseason & for the most part it's meaningless. Very little scheming on either side. But judging by what they've shown in the preseason, what they've done in the offseason, & the history of the organization... doesn't look like they're going to take a giant leap forward.

TB, Buf, TEN..... are in similar situations.

Mark Sanchez looks like their best QB right now.

But it's possible.

What do you think? & if they are, do you think Ryan keeps his job through the end of the year?

It's hard to predict mid-season firings. But, Ryan won't make it to 2014. Dead Coach Walking. Right now, I would put the Jets as the 3rd worse team, in front of only the Raiders (barf) and the Jags (yuk).

You think the Jets are worse than the Brown's?

The Browns have a better QB, better running game, and - with their FA pickups - a better defense.

I think the Browns are going to be this year's Cinderella. They've been quietly putting together some talent over there & their biggest issue, imho, has been the turmoil in the front office.

Better than the Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals? No.

Being the Cinderella team doesn't mean they're going to win the division, but yes I believe the Browns may (not will, but may) be better than two of those three teams.

I don't see it. I expect them to maybe win 1 division game putting them at 5 losses out of the gate.

What the heck? Ryan had Sanchez play deep into the 4th quarter behind a 3rd string OL, and he got nailed by one of the Giants' DEs. He never came back after having problems trying to pass on the sidelines. So far x-rays results from last night have not been reported. Definitive diagnosis will need to delayed until MRI is taken anyway. But seeing Sanchez sitting on the bench with an ice pack on his throwing shoulder, then shortly thereafter being escorted back through the tunnel, is not exactly an encouraging sign. This could reflect anyone of several injuries including subluxation/dislocation, rotator cuff or labral tear. I hope Sanchez's injury is not serious, but it would not bode well for a more promising 2013 Jets record.

The position of Sanchez's arm while he was lying on the ground, the fact that he was writhing in pain grabbing at the inside of his armpit area, makes it likely that he sustained at least a subluxation/dislocation type of injury. The way he was hit (hard and direct), he could have also suffered an accompanying hairline fracture (shoulder joint or even rib), ligament, tendon (rotator cuff), and/or labrum tear. We should know the "official" word by tomorrow.

It's being reported that Sanchez wanted no part of playing with lowly backups. Ryan acted like a real A-hole when asked about this decision.

Screw him. I've been hearing the "What was he doing in the game?" crap... It's not like Geno Smith was enjoying a clean pocket at any point of the game. Sanchez was just as likely to suffer that same injury at the start of the first qtr as he was at the end of the 4th qtr.

The Jets inability to protect their QB is a bigger issue than Sanchez playing in the 4th qtr of a preseason game.

If it wasn't important, I would not have put him in there," Ryan said.

Ryan insisted that the goal had been to win the third preseason game, which the Jets did. For that, the Jets were awarded the "Snoopy Trophy."

Laugh if you want (I am), but who's holding the Snoopy trophy?

Can you fire a guy that wins the coveted Snoopy Trophy? Yeah, I guess you can.
