It's just mind-boggling how someone can go through so much money so quickly and have virtually nothing left in just a matter of a few years.
I have no animosity toward VY. The 2006 draft stuff is all water under the bridge, and even "this is my house" garbage is humorous in hindsight (mainly because that was probably the high point of his career).
So I say all that to explain when I say "how stupid can you be?", it's not from any of the past, but just beyond my comprehension to see someone piss away a fortune.

It is hard to comprehend but he isn't bright and he may or may not have surrounded himself with parasites. Even so blowing that much money in less than 10 years is a head scratcher. But he is a ut idol and hell probably have a comfortable existence with his texas ties unless he's even dumber than we think.
I have been watching American Greed: Scams, Scoundrels and Suckers on CNBC over the last few months, and there are people worth more and smarter than Vince Young who have lost fortunes to white collar criminals.
It appears that some of the financial con artists pay on investments as promised for a year or more, then once the investors really like the returns they are getting and trust these advisors, they begin helping themselves to the investors money. Most end up with nothing, or a pennies on the dollar once exposed. The saddest so far was the widow of a 911 victim who invested with a very reputable firm. Her advisor became greedy, and kept advising after he had been fired from the firm. By the time the widow learned of the theft, most of her money had been stolen to finance his lifestyle. Fortunately, the company he had worked for reimbursed the losses which rarely happens.
I don't know if Vince had a similar experience or squandered without or minimal help, but sometimes the old hole in back yard is safer than some "trusted" investment advisors.

Ya, I'd like to see where that quote came from. The most original source I've found is a Houston TV station website. I really hope it was just a stupid intern at the station; it's scary to think that a member of the bar is confusing gorilla/geurilla.
