Bush to run all over Texas!!!

uhcougar08

SHSUKATS08
I want to see Bush run all over the Texas defense, so people here will shut up about Reggie not being that good. Go Trojans, destroy the Tea Sips!!!

Here is a vote for Kansas to stomp UH in the Who cares? Bowl. Normally I wouldn't care. Your rude behavior has me wanting to root against them now though. Go Big 12!!!

Vince Young is going to destroy USC's defense and bring the Title back to the big twelve where it beolongs.

If you are from Texas and are rooting FOR USC in the Rose bowl... then shame on you.

This is now a state of Texas thing. No matter what school in Texas you went to.... its time to bring some respect back to this state. I mean Florida, and Cali have had bragging rights WAAAAAAAY too long. I am so sick of seeing this state not play for anything. We need all our recruits to stay within the borders to help all teams.

This is supposedly football country right?? Bringing a NC back to the state can only help everyone.

HOOK EM!!

I wanna see Michael Huff and Aaron Harris lay some big hunts on Reggie if he gets past the line...:)

I did not go to any college or university in Texas, but I am cheering for UT!

Yeah, if he runs for over 100 yards, he'll be in elite company such as Stephen McGee (Texas A&M RS-FR QB).

If Bush is held to 13 yards on 48 carries, do you really think anybody is going to say he's not that good?

Hey, I was born and raised here but I would NEVER cheer for ******* in the Super Bowl. It is not a Texas thing. Sometimes it is a hatred that burns for your rival.

In this case, I want Texas to win.

All Im going to say is the last time this board wanted a RB going into a National Championship game as our first pick, he left with 3 torn ligaments. Hopefully for his sake, our curse doesnt catch up with Bush. Had that not happened we would have Willis McGahee in our backfield right now.

i gotta back the horns....ya'll be watchin for my friend #44 rashad bobino, starting linebacker for the burnt orange defense....i bet he lights somebody up

Im rooting for Texas big time in this game, but I do believe reggie will get his. The Key to this game is preventing Matt from picking us apart and we must control possesion of the ball and eat up the clock keeping that duo on the sidelines

I am a Texas Tech fan and Im from Austin. I hear it all year from UT fans. But they are the best fans I have been affiliated with (sorry I hate ATM fans and i am sure they hate us) But I think UT can force enough turnovers and punts to win. Vince young is amazing, I dont care how many points USC puts up, Young will score one more. (see kansas last year, OSU last year) I think Johnny Utah is right

54-47

Young takes the game into his own hands (maybe not quite so high scoring)
45-41

I dont see the game that high scoring where it is in the 50s.

USC put up "only" 34 against Notre Dame and the Texas defense is better than the Irish's defense and has a month to prepare. And likewise, with a month to prepare, I bet Carroll comes up with something to slow down the UT attack.

High 30s, Low 40s.

i see texas winning because USC's defense sucks, and yes they killed UCLA but UCLA gave up on that game almost from the start

Texas by 24

56-32

I truly think that Jamaal Charles is going to have a HUGE day in the Rose. He has been working on getting healthy for weeks now... and was finally completely healthy against Colorado last weekend. Charles looked like he did earlier in the year when he got off to one of the hottest starts for a Fresh RB in school history. Look for USC to be overplaying Vince, and for shifty Charles to make things happen.

I'm sure USC will spend the next month studying the UT-A&M tape and see how the vaunted, 110th ranked A&M was so effective at shutting Vince down.

And Texas will spend time watching the notre dame game and see how they shut down reggie bush and they will watch the fresno state game and see how effective they were ripping apart the usc defense.

Yeah Notre Dame really shut down Reggie Bush. He only had 15 carries for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Reggie Bush will take his heisman to the Rose Bowl and have a good game.
However it will not be enough to beat Texas. UT's D is stronger and faster than USC's O. Don't even get me started on the Trojans middle of the road D. Texas will score 40+, USC will probably get up to around 30 to 35 points. Will be a great game to watch. The Horns are too big, they'll rip those trojans!!!!!!!

I don't want to fuel the argument anymore but that's exactly what was said about OU-USC last year, that USC's offense was better than OU's but OU's defense was so much better than USC's defens that they'd win the game. I can't say I agree that UT's defense is faster than USC's offense, but we'll have to wait and see. If I had to put money on the game I'd still say USC wins by about 45-34.

thats not how it was last year.

OU's secondary had been exposed by A&M earlier in the year, big time.

Not to mention, the USC defense was MUCH better last year, this year, they are just a middle of the pack defense, ranked in the 40's i think.

last years game was supposed to be soooo even. OU had the heisman QB, the freshman phenom, the NFL quality receivers, the NFL o-line. USC had the heisman QB, the thunder/lightning rb's, the super freshman receivers, the nfl oline.

defense, OU had the stout run D, weak pass D.

USC had the stout run D, the good pass D.

compare that to this year, and say its the same. please...

I'm rooting for USC! I've lived in Texas my whole life, also. Go Trojans!!

I want Reggie Bush to have a good game but I would like the Longhorns to win.

Run Reggie Run!
Hookem Horns!

:yahoo:

Should be a good game!

Please take this quote and post it over on the Bull Pen message boards on every post that says someone is rooting for the Texans to lose.

That's completely different.

Wanting the Texans to lose in order to get the #1 pick is fine by me, because in all honestly I don't want them winning another game this season, with exception of the Jags. Does it make me a bad fan? I don't think so.

The other just makes me a disgrace to my state, or a traitor, or something.

What. You want the Texans to lose which is pathetic, but some people like being that way. I want USC to destroy UT. I hate UT with all the passion of Revelli and the Yell Squad. GO TAMU!!!!

I'm not following the thought process here. We should cheer for a college team from our state just because they are in our state but it's ok to want our pro team, that we have been fans of for four years, to not win another game this year?

When it comes to the best way to show support for your team, opinion can vary on what that is. However, if I were in the Texans locker room before the game this Sunday, there are a lot of things I might say to them, but at no point in time would I ever, in my wildest nightmares, actually tell them "hey fellas, might as well go on and lose this one, so that way we can bring in the number one pick and get one of you fired."

Honestly! What self-respecting athlete or freakin human being would ever respond to that kind of "support?" If you are a fan of the Houston Texans, you want them to succeed, and success is defined by winning and ultimately winning the big game. For that matter, you tell me the last time a team won the Super Bowl utilizing the number one pick in the draft. Last I knew, the Patriots won three of the last four starring a seventh rounder. I bet the Patriots, when they were losing back in the 1990s, never thought to themselves, let's go lose, that way we can get a pick.

Fans my ***. Look at what you really are: the point is to win the game, not win the draft lottery.

Meanwhile, everyone in Texas is supposed to want UT to win. I hate UT. Other than massive amounts of pretty girls, I despise the time I spent visiting there. I would pull for USC on the basis of wanting to see UT lose. Instead, I am going to kick back and watch what should be a good game between two of college best. If you are a Longhorn, by all means, support your squad, but let's not talk about our NFL team losing out and then in the next breath call people a traitor for not supporting the Longhorns. You bandwaggonist fans are going to get exactly what you deserve, and that is a big fat L in this year's championship. That you could type that with a straight face ...

Damn someone got a little worked up. HAHAHAHAHAHA> I agree with every word of it though. Even though Brady was a 6th rounder but that does not much matter in this gorgeous blasting of a post.

Where did I say I was rooting for UT? I hate UT. I figured the "Go Trojans" part of my first post would have tipped you off to that.

I could care less if either of you think I'm a 'real' fan. I've spent alot of my hard-earned money on this team since it's inception and have visited this board (and the old board) for some time without spending all my time bashing the team.

I'm just trying to see the forest for the trees here. I don't see how a 4-12, 3-13, or 2-14 season qualifies as less of a failure than 1-15. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who feels that way. However, I'd really like to see us spoil the Jags' playoff chances if we're in a position to do so.

Are you implying that not having the #1 pick gives us a better chance of winning it all next season, or that I think us having the #1 pick gives us a better chance?

If you're a coach, of course you don't encourage your star players to tank a game. You just bench them :D

After defending the HORNS all year in Va. Tech Choke country I'm not abandoning ship now.

TAILGATE IS RIGHT!!!! We need to shut these other states up. We are FOOTBALL COUNTRY period.

gooooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooorns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just thought it was amusing and a little questionable for multiple people to agree on this post that we are "traitors" for not rooting for UT when at the same time many of them and countless others are on this board saying they hope and are rooting for the Texans to lose.

I don't see why someone is a traitor for rooting against Texas. Just because you live in Texas does not mean you have to like Texas and support them. I'm sure the NY Jets fans aren't supporting the Giants because they are doing well. And I'm sure the St. Louis Rams fans aren't supporting the Chiefs because they are doing well. Root for who ever you want to.

I think that cak was mostly messing around about that. But, I can't speak for him ...

Ummm, yeah mostly--certainly didn't mean to create all that. My allegiance goes to my chosen team, which by definition will be a Texas team in every sport, and then to other teams in Texas so long as they aren't playing my chosen team.

There are alot of bragging rights in football on the collegiate level. Actually, it starts with high school football, the experience, who puts out the best talent in the US, etc, etc.

Everyone knows Texas has all the talent in the world. Yet many states joke that if Texas is such a great state, and football country... then why does all the TOP talent want to leave? To Oklahoma, LSU, Miami, and so on.

This Rose bowl is not just about you wanting Texas to lose because you hate them. Its a regional thing now. The 90's were ALL Florida it seemed. These days its all California (USC basically). When is it going to be this states turn?? Texas time to shine?

We need someone to bring the NC back to FOOTBALL COUNTRY...Texas. We need to have ALL the top recruits to continue this trend to stay within our borders. More to A&M, more to UH, more to TCU, etc, etc, etc..

With the talent in this state... its a SIN that we dont have more top 25 teams. It truly is.

Time for the state of Texas to jump on the bandwagon. Even if only for just this once. Besides... do you really want to root for a Los Angeles USC program where all they do is make fun of Texas????
HOOK EM!!

I think next year will be the year or rather Jan. 2007. USC will have to rebuild its offense, which should give UT time to win the next one. With Vince back he will also be the front-runner for the Heisman.

Maybe. They return 16 of 22 starters I think. So with Vince back they should actually be even better next year. Throw in a possible # 1 recruiting class to boot. Although, if Vince leaves (not likely), not sure what the Horns will do???

But even so... winning a NC in college football is one of the hardest things to do in all of sports. I just assume they take care of business while they have already earned a chance.

Football teams from Texas colleges are primarily made up of kids from Texas high schools. I doubt the Giants or Jets are made up of mostly players from Jersey or New York.

Big difference.
