Go Texans!
Tebow. There, I said it. Boo me. Hiss me. Do your worst.
But remember: His days in NY are not indicative of who he is as a QB. That place is severely dysfunctional and nobody there is thriving. NOBODY.
1. He moves and extends plays. End of story, you know what and who I am talking about here. Tebow is mobile, Tebow can withstand a blitz from a DB or smaller LB.
2. He's a RZ dream come true. Red Zone problems, huh? yeah, well this is the guy you want when you have to make a TD and not a FG since you're only 10 yards away from the EZ. Defenses are guessing what the play is with Tebow, because he can run or fake run & throw, he can fake run and pump fake and then run anyway. He presents problems for defenses near the EZ.
3. He'd by QB3, emergency QB on game days and scout team during the week. Trade Schaub to NYJ for Tebow and a NYJ mid-round pick (late 4th or early 5th round, let's say). Tell him he's QB3 behind yates and keenum. Run scout team, be suited up and on the sidelines on game days as QB3, and wait for a chance like Leinart received in 2011. It can happen, so it should be clear to him the rules of warfare for his time here.
4. What is to lose? We lost Schaub, but seriously...so what. We know what his ceiling is in a playoff setting vs. a team not named Bengals. And even in the Bengals game, folks, he did NOT impress. He squeaked by. And that same level of talent was there in the next round vs. NE too. But it didn't get over.
I just think Tebow is not the same as Carr or Young. Carr never worked hard, Vince was dumb. Tebow is a hard worker, a motivator, and he's not stupid like Vince is. He possibly could be a low risk, high reward here in Houston and it clears the way for more mobility at QB instead of slothman Matt Schaub who isn't really giving us a chance aghainst more savvy defenses.
