I don't really like this mock. For one, there is no reason for us to stay at #1 to pick Ferguson. I think the Jets at #2 would take Leinart and I don't see Tennessee taking a QB with McNair and Volek, at least not in the first round. I also don't see the Cardinals taking DeAngelo Williams since they drafted J.J Arrington last year. I would think they would be looking for a QB or else upgrading their poor offensive line. The Ravens may take Winston if he is available that late but I think they should look for a new QB because I don't think Boller is ever going to be real good and there are plenty of good QBs this year. I don't really see the Rams taking a TE in the first round because they so rarely use them, and I don't think the Eagles will spend a first rounder on a RB with Westbrook on the team, they will likely be looking for a WR to replace TO. There are several other picks I don't really agree with but I'll stop here.

Texans draft Bush then announce a trade with the 49ers sending Bush to them in exchange for this years #1 & next years #1 picks :)

The Texans select Matt Leinhart with the 3rd pick. But wait, there is another trade. The Texans trade Leinhart to the Arizona Cardinals for their 1st rd pick (in your mock #6) and gain a 2nd & 3rd pick this year.

With the 6th pick in the 2006 draft the Houston Texans select Eric Winston :texans:

I sure don't post often but I'm going to shoot down any mock that has the Texans taking D'Brick. NOT THAT I THINK THE GUY DOESN'T HAVE THE TALENT, but Houston has bigger needs (yes bigger than a left tackle).

Honestly we need someone for this city to get REALLY pumped about, and the buzz has totally been Bush lately and I don't think Houston can pass up a certified playmaker. It will kill the excitement, I'm telling you.

Actually i pretty much agree with everything else you have there :texflag: , again I like D'Brick but Houston can't afford to pass on Bush.

I think we can't afford to take bush #1, this team has too many needs besides RB. We drafted morency with a 3rd this year, and we signed DD to an extension. Everybody is all of sudden thinking that DD can't get the job done anymore.

We need to trade down and get extra picks. WE NEED OL, LB, S, CB. Did you see our secondary against STL. That was PATHETIC.

And if we do draft bush, who is going to block for him?...Victor Riley?:tomato: Besides bush isn't a lock to be a superstar, and if you dont believe me i'll give you a couple of names......kijana carter, lawrence phillips, DESMOND HOWARD...need i say more...

Well Desmodn Howard did win a SB and the MVP for that game. So he could be seen as successful the others were bad. Well Phillips was doing quite well till he decided to go Irvin with the drugs. Bush will be a good player along the same lines as a tatum bell or clinton Portis or maybe even Warrick Dunn. They are all small backs with tremendous speed and hands. I do think though that Bush could line up at WR and be effective. OL,LB,S,CB are huge needs for us.

1. trade down pick up a low second or high 3rd and next years 1. Eric Winston
2. Ahmad Brooks
3a. Pass Rusher
3b. Dwayne Slay (if he runs fast if not get him in the fourth)- Rocky McIntosh
4. Slay, De la GArza
5. CB
6. Levon Nanton
7. CB

The problem is that Desmond Howard won SB MVP for a team other than the one that drafted him. A draft choice is only as good as the production (or compensation) he gives the team THAT DRAFT HIM. The Redskins didn't get anywhere close to that from him.

Pass rusher, thats what I want. The D rushed well last game, but thats really the first time ive ssen it.

one of the steals of the draft will be elvis dumervile in the third. Slightly smaller Freeny.

Im suprised he did so well, he's kinda small for a DE. But a great 3rd round, if he lasts.

He has the hallmarks of an in season 3rd rounder, draft season late 1st rounder. Watch his stock rise.

I understand you want ferguson but there no reason to Overpay him draft him 1st over you could make it were the texans trade there 1st to the saints and still get ferguson but still it might be to early for him.

i know a lot of guys rise right before draft because of their freakish numbers posted at combines and individual workouts, but dumervile doesnt posess the athletic ability that others will. he will not wow you physically, and should not rise up to much. He is one of the guys that i do not see rising up, but being a steal.
