Trade Yates and Tate to Raiders

Tj Yates and Ben Tate to the Raiders for 3rd pick in first round
*And get Geno Smith...

They would be perfect for the Raiders since they kno the system.

McFadden can't stay healthy. . And Palmer is old and Pryor is not getting it there

Yates and Tate are cheap and have a few years on contract so there not losing much

And if have to give up late round like 4th or 5th

There's no way Tate and Yates gets you the 3rd overall pick in the 1st round, not even with a 4th round pick thrown in. Those upper 1st round picks are very expensive.

Anyone who thinks Tate and Yates are worth a #3 overall pick is absolutely insane. Also, no way I'd want Geno Smith.

Editing to add the fact that Tate only has one year left on his contract and is probably more or at least is as injury prone than McFadden is.

What is really cool about this MB is I can read a thread topic and then either participate or not. Also, I can make a really stupid comment to attempt to embarrass another poster and show how much smarter I am. Or not.

C'mon ... why settle for just the 3rd overall. If we are giving up Yates and Tate, we should insist on the 1983 Marcus Allen and 1976 Gene Upshaw too.

if we are trading w/ the raiders, we should at least get a wr out of the deal . . . ;)

The Texans would be foolish not to make this trade. I hope this happens and I hope Rick Smith is reading or has read this thread. It's a good deal for both sides. A proverbial "win win" situation for both parties. We get Geno Smith who will be the starter from mini-camp and they get two players who are destined to be New England Patriots players at some point. I don't see a single downside to this trade scenario. I really hope this happens..ideally by Monday morning before I even brush my teeth at 6:30 a.m. That way by breakfast I'm already in a great mood and ready to tackle the long day ahead. I'll have to think about getting a Geno Smith jersey and the right size. I think by mid day I should have the jersey size sorted out. Then during lunch I can trash talk my friends who are Colts fan on how Geno Smith is going to return a punt for 200 yards for the winning touchdown in both games! The thought of that will sustain me through the long afternoon. By evening I'm sure I'll have convinced myself that Geno Smith will intercept Russell Wilson's pass in the Super Bowl for the Texans win! Geno Smith will win the Super Bowl MVP and will be on the cover of Madden making him the most marketable athlete in Houston's long and illustrious sports history. In conclusion, I think this is a great trade and the Raiders would be foolish not to make it happen.

hahaha the raiders and all the other 30 teams would laugh and hang up on us LOL

then watch Yates turn into Kenny Stabler & Tate into Bo Jackson. Who's laughing now? Al Davis in Raider Heaven :whip:

Honestly. Really? Wow.

You had me until then...... in the future, "co-workers who are Colts fans" "associates who are Colts fans"

Keep it real you know

When did this become clutchfans?
In season, this thread might have found its way to Neverland. But in the offseason, I think we need a thread where all fantasy trades can live and be free. Any other dream trade threads will likely find their way to the Yates and Tate area.

ok, sir...Gently put down the controller and step away from Madden 13... Don't make us use the tear gas, just quietly and gently put down the controller....step away from Madden 13 and come back to reality...

Remember you have so much to live for, don't do this to yourself...

Hey, as long as we're fantazing, maybe if we give them Yates & Tate do you think they'll give us Brisiel and Juron Criner?

How about Tate & Yates to the Redskins for their backup QB, Cousins, and a late 3rd or early 4th round pick?

It replaces their backup QB (Cousins) with our backup QB (Yates), and also gives them a good RB (Tate), and we get their backup QB and a mid-range draft pick out of it. Wasn't Tate a 3rd rounder anyways?

So we essentially maybe upgrade our backup QB and get something out of Tate before he ships out of Houston like he's going to do anyways in 2014.

RBs are a premium in the NFL, so I feel like a team like the Skins might figure they are only a solid RB away from being a real contender. In our position, we need more out of our backup QB than what Yates has ben giving us...plus, we need to always be scratching the surface for the next starter at the QB position.

I don't think the Redskins are going to part with their current and future starting QB, I only say that because RG3 will not hold up with his playing style...

If they did trade Cousins, better tag a couple of 2nd rounders to your deal...

Heh, they kind of have that already. You're forgetting their other rookie Alfred Morris who just ran for 1,613 with a 4.8 per carry average and 13 td's. Guy runs like a freaking truck. So they probably wouldn't do the trade since they gain nothing from it but another backup quarterback and a backup running back.

I agree though that we do need to get someone in here to develop for the future.

Tate was a 2nd round pick, but he's on the last year of his deal. Getting more than a 4th for him at this point would be surprising, unless Marty Hurney found a job somewhere.

What the hell? Who has ever said they are a premium? They are one of the least likely positions to stick around. More often than not, RBs get changed out every couple years and replaced with young draft picks or cheaper vets. Most teams don't spend all that much on the position, and for good reason. They are likely to get injured, and they typically don't last beyond the age of 30. The Redskins already have a great RB in a 6th round rookie Alfred Morris, and he's waaaaaay better than Tate and cheaper too. They would be better off signing Ahmad Bradshaw than spending picks on Tate.

Also, the Redskins would be fools to trade Cousins after the injury RG3 sustained. RG3 might not even start the season, so they better have someone ready to take over.

Good points. Was just trying to feel everyone out on the potential to move both those guys and get something back.

I think we agree that Cousins would be a better trade than perhaps any other backup QB who's out there right now. And with Tate, he and his agent could sell a team on how the Texans just stuck with Foster and never really let him have a chance. They could point to those games back in early 2011 when Foster was out and Tate was getting lots of reps and had good stats, too.

If we enter the year with Tate on the roster, we're not going to get anything for him when he enters free agency in 2014. It'd be nice to find a willing trade partner and get something out of him like we did for Ryans last off-season. One year of Tate is not better than getting an extra pick for him that we can use in 2014, IMO. This coach isn't going to play anybody but Foster and Forsett (or enter random FA or UDFA pickup here --> ______) anyways.

I think Tate is as good as gone.

TJ Yates + LeStar Jean + Ben Tate + Jared Crick to the Chiefs for the first overall pick and then we can go out and get Manti Te'o to shore up our ILB position!

Also, I'm out of drugs, can we tack on an eighth of good stuff in that deal?

You say Mcfadden is injury prone so we should trade them another injury prone back in Tate with less explosiveness & a 2nd string qb and think that's going to be enough to get the 3rd overall pick?....LMAO.

"Yeah...that's totally far out man. We should like...FREE those guys to the universe and let their Karma keep them afloat. Brother, football isn't about 'winning' and 'losing', it's about FREEDOM and expanding your mind. Dude have a brownie. Where can I plug in this lava lamp?"

Vintage 1969 :sarcasm: The Dread-Head Collective (precursor to the Dread-Head Foundation) is like this new group who want to totally enlighten the masses vis a vie really groovy sarcasm as a vehicle for complete mind expansion. The Dread-Head Collective Texan-Bill ...bag man.

What exactly do you expect to get out of a backup QB?

A little versatility wouldn't be bad. Yates always holds the clipboard in his right hand. He needs to put it in his left some times. Then his hat, if he could flip the bill back like Tony Romo.. I mean I already think he's the next Romo.

I know it isn't going to happen, but I think it would be sweat if he'd give Matt pointers when he comes back to the sideline.

I thought GP was being sarcastic with his "RBs are at a premium" comment. In fact, I thought the whole post was a little tongue-in-cheek....

You weren't completely serious were you, GP??

I was adversely affected by the OP.

I had my wife kick me in the nuts, to reset the system. We're good now.

Every time I see this thread I think "Tate should have an 's' at the end of his last name so we could be talking about trading Yates and Tates to the Raiders.

Not that I'd do it. Not that they'd do it. Not that it makes any sense at all.

It just needs an 's'.
