Macfarlane NFL Action Figures just released Exclusive Arian Foster

Macfarlane who makes NFL Action figures just released a Arian Foster Action figure (exclusive).
It can be bought at Spawn.com for $15.00 with ups it comes out to around $29.00. You will be lucky to find this in stores like Target.

Just thought I would pass that along to those that are into collecting....

I never can find any Texans figures in stores. Guess I need to go online for it.

Ebay is your best bet. There's only one of each figure in a given case, so there's likely only ONE AJ or AF that hits the shelf at a given time.

Odds are NOT in your favor. And a chase/variant makes it even LESS likely that you're gonna see one hanging up.

The only Texans figures that they've had out were a Battle Red David Carr (from when we hosted the SB), then the AJ which was fairly recently, and the Arian Collectors Club Exclusive.

I look for their to be a JJ Watt before long, and maybe even a Cushing.

Thanks, man. I found the AJ one on Amazon, which I will probably pick up next payday for my son's b-day.

I think I have that DC one buried in my Texans stuff. Kinda' forgot about it.

I think JJ Watt will be next, as well, especially after getting a defensive player of the year award in a couple of weeks.

They have quite a number of Oilers figures including:

And a certain BLASPHEMOUS figure with a C. Johnson wearing an Oilers jersey which I shall not post!

I got my Arian foster in today. Im thinking about getting David Carr off eBay just so I can have all three, but I don't know if I should allow Carr in my house?

Did you get the regular, or the chase variant?

I think i got the regular, What's the difference?

The regular figure is the standard color scheme that Spawn manufactures. They produce figures called: variant, chase, retro, or error pieces that include sometimes subtle changes to the uniform. It really is an interesting thing to pursue.

For example:

This is the series 6 regular figure of Brett Favre. Comes in both a dirty and a clean variety. Sometimes you can find a green jersey and white sleeves, or vice versa.

And here's the chase variant figure:

But there's also a Retro figure of Favre:
This one recently sold for $200+ on ebay.

The rarest one of these particular ones that were produced was a black Falcons Favre (like the one above) but it actually had a Green Bay handwarmer on it. IIRC, one of those sold for upwards of a grand on ebay a few years ago.

After doing a quick search, it looks like they only made a reg. figure of Arian.

Here's Dre's regular figure:

And here's his chase variant figure:

Does this make sense? The more changes: dirty or clean, regular or variant, errors and the like--the more valuable the piece is to collectors.

In series 1 and 2 they ran a "no helmet variation" where they literally didn't put a helmet on the player. HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE. But they stopped doing that because the NFL didn't want to "endorse" playing the game without proper protective equipment.

A very cool venture though.

A no helmet Urlacher recently sold on ebay for $500.

A no helmet Emmitt Smith sold for $300.

Series 1 (2001):
Eddie George
Edgerrin James
Emmitt Smith
Kurt Warner
Randy Moss
Warren Sapp

Series 2 (2001):
Brian Urlacher
Daunte Culpepper
Mark Brunell
Marshall Faulk
Marvin Harrison
Wayne Chrebet

It's neat to see how far these figures have come in the past dozen yrs or so.

Cool, got it! I do have the chase variant Andre Johnson and he is dirty. The Arian foster I got is the regular. Do people keep them in there package for value?

Yes. If I want to display mine outside of the package (the term is "loose") then I ALWAYS buy a 2nd figure. Once they're out of the package, the price dimenishes quickly.

I've got several loose pieces on a bookshelf at home, but I've got a pretty nice collection still in the package. And take good care of the "clamshell" (the plastic container they come in) as scratches and stuff like that can dimenish the value as well.

But if you're just in it for fun, all this stuff really doesn't matter much.

It's just an interesting thing to collect, imo.

Yea I'm just putting them in my man cave so will be opening them up. Thanks for the info. Still might get the Carr just to have, but I'm hoping Watt comes out soon.

There is some scuttlebutt about a JJ Watt coming out soon. There's also a different Arian that will be coming out in the Series 32 line. They haven't released the pics yet though.

Hoping they get on board with a Cushing as well.

If you're good with paint you could change that "Carr" to "Schaub". ;)

I'm pretty sure someone around here did that a few years ago.

And if you're really desperate for a Schaub figure, just do an ebay search and in the search window type: mcfarlane (texan, texans) (Schaub, Shaub) custom

Be sure to type the (parenthesis) as well; and fair warning the sellers on there sometimes spell awful. Made it tough to look for figures at times.

:kubepalm:

You can just type in: mcfarlane custom
And there are tons of REALLY TALENTED custom artists on there that will make you anything that you want. You can even sent them pictures of your old high school or college playing days and they will make a figure of...YOURSELF. LOL

There are some pretty cool things on there.
