Would you trade Carr for a #2 draft choice?

Just wondering. I mean, could they shop him around to see what the market will bear? Is that possible? And if someone offered a second round choice would you take it? Just asking.

the obvious instinctual reactions aside, such as that nobody would give up a 5th for dave carr, my answer would have to be no. Drew brees sucked for a couple of years, and look what he is doing now.....refurbish the mans o-line, which IS the problem, he has been sacked at a record breaking clip this year, and gets pressured taking .128 seconds in the pocket, so fix his line, give him his 2 years of option to show us something, take a qb next year to push him for playing time and get healthy competition

Brees got pushed by the Chargers taking Rivers. It also helps when you pick up a diamond in Antonio Gates.

You can fire anyone, who you hired... go for it..

Because I don't have any time to put towards the cowplops. Much less post on their site. Sorry about you not being a Texan's fan.. Maybe next year you'll move up..

Have you seen any more of hollywood flicks that you can tell us about..

Hey Caddy, above are your last 5 of 7 post. Do you post anything about the actual game or do you just sit and lerk waiting to rip on the next persons post that you don't like?

we need to fire our gm so he would stop wasting our draft picks on players who arent producing. hire someone new that knows talent when he see it so that way we could get a better o-line and defensive players.i thought it was stupid of him not picking up derrick j. this year.

CC would probably try and get 2 3rd rounders for Carr and then use those picks to trade up for another undersized DE project ofr an OLB. Carr seems to be doing good today!!!!!

Carr has had a great game so far...if he can play like this on a regular basis nobody will ever give him a hard time.

yep...even me. When Dave plays like this we can win games....that's all I want from our best players/team leaders....to play up to their contracts. This is the most encouraging game I've seen from Carr since he went off on the Vikings last year. Hopefully something has clicked for him and he continues to stay within himself and win some games for us. We needed Carr to have a big game today since the Rams were having problems defensively....to DC's credit he came out with a fantastic game. He could have come out and stunk it up...but he didn't.

Carr did well early and the rest of the day stunk it up, including when it counted late. He was outplayed by a 3rd string QB outta nowhere.

McNair's jobs for the week: Fire Capers, Fire Casserly, beg somebody to take Carr off our hands. Trade him straight up for Fitzgerald. Just put him outside the stadium and lock the doors. Please.

That the D is lousy is not a sufficient defense of our lousy, skittish, clumsy, inaccurate, slow, streaky, overpaid, pretty-boy QB.

No.

You all act as though NFL-caliber QBs are a dime a dozen, and you just trot down to the corner store and pick one up when you need one.

The QB position is the most difficult to fill. Is Carr perfect? Heck no. But today he has returned to his previous self, the guy who was mixing it up and making clutch plays when it counted.

We win that game if Coleman doesn't give up the ball and the Rams then score off of that cheap re-possession of Coleman's interception. What a rookie mistake by a veteran player. He has been absent ALL year, and he ought to be unceremoniously CUT tomorrow. He can go join Aaron Glenn and reunite for a farwell tour of letting receivers get behind them for big plays.

Carr is not the problem. He has contributed to the problem, but he ain't the problem. I think he played his style of game today that we were accustomed to seeing before the last game of last year.

Sadly, this defensive unit is poorly coached and cannot come up with the clincher play when it counts. Of course, this has been the only time this year that they've been in that position...so I guess you can't really blame them.

Yes, Fire the entire team, they all suck at this point. And trade Carr for a good High School Player. I think one of the HS Playoff teams could be playing better than the Texans. I have been a big fan for 45 years, but today was just too much to stomach. How can a team loose a game like they did and still expect respect from the fans. The owner needs to do something today, do not wait.

Won't happen because he's too much of a coward. I think he has Capers disease, thinking we are really good when we aren't.
McNair isn't a coward. Just because you don't like this team (who does?) it doesn't make McNair whatever you want to decribe him as.

Does anyone have any legitimate complanits about Carr's performance today? Any bad throws, reads, or such? And we still lost go figure? This is a team game, its not just the o-line or the qb, even the entire offense, the WHOLE TEAM must perfomre for us to win, that, yet again, did not happen...

I think Napa would still ***** about him...

i think David had a great first half.but then something happen playcalling or getting to COMFTERBLE with a lead more of a coaching problem IMO david definitely had his best game statistically speaking for the year now if david could only do this all year we would all be happy campers right?:texflag:

Carr did everything he could that game, and the offense stepped up this game. As usual, including D-Rob, they laid down, like good dogs.
Yep. Carr was especially powerful in the overtime session. And, oh! I forgot, in the 4th quarter, too! And, oh yeah, in the 3rd quarter he was surprisingly effective. Was there an interception that gave points to the other team? Did he screw up a third down play in overtime? And did he look, for most of the second half, like the Daid Carr we are used to seeing? I can't remember. Probably he looked great. Probably he was Johnny-Freaking-Unitas out there today. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. One half of pretty good play for 3/4 of a season. Yeah! Pay the man his 8 million!

In Carrs defense, although I still do not think he is a NFL caliber QB, the play calling starting the 3rd Quarter was a little conservative. It was like they got comfortable with the lead and was playing not to loose. They realize now you cannot do that and the first to go should be the Offensive Coordinator with the others right behind him. I stll think I must have fallen asleep and was dreaming, please tell me I was. :)

You can't blame David Carr for the Texans playing piss-poor defense in the second half.

:texflag: Fitzpatrick 310 yds 3 TDs and Carr 290 yds and 3 TDs .
This no different than the Bills vs Oilers game . You have to play the whole game not a half .

What happened .... Carr checked the roster and realized he had Andre Johnson .

Go Texans!
First of all, Carr was great today. He looked off receivers. He actually avoided going to the dump down to DD and threw to a WR instead. So, he's taking the coaching as Gary Walker requested.

Second of all, for the first time it looked as though the entire offense--from the o line, to the QB, the RB, and the WRs--got their act together and were actually having fun out there for a change. The offensive playcalling was som much better than the past three months. Overall, the entire offense did great.

Thirdly, Kris Brown missed the kick because of a bad snap that had to be pulled down and wasn't set very well. Not all of it is on his shoulders.

Fourthly, Coleman pretty much lost this game all on his own. Coughing up the ball after securing a great interception was a ROOKIE mistake. He let WRs get by him all day, as well as all season by the way, and he just looks like he's in a stupor out there. Oh, and I almost forgot his inability to secure the catch on the onside kick. Slight little detail there, guys...

Stop going through the motions with your Carr bashing. He deserved it for many of our previous games, but this loss was in no way on Carr.

And by the way: The holding call on our TE was what killed that drive, not Carr.

Yeah, I noticed that. He was listening to Pendry while the D was on the field.

If you're talking about the drive in overtime, Not So, My Little Hominy Grit! It were David Carr himself, on 3rd and 6, ducking under a "fierce" rush and gaining 1.

Heck no! Carr showed what he can do today. He isn't great, but he will suffice.

OzzO

.. and then?
Just no satisfying some people - first tag is to always tag the QB or the coach since they're the most visble easy targets.

To answer the question, no I would not trade Carr for a 2nd round (assuming that's what you meant as a #2) as what 2nd round player would replace a QB that would be so much better? tough question I think since we can't use hind sight and the draft is often a crap shoot, unless you have a large scouting department to cover all angles.... um... yeah.

For now, I'm aligning with the 2 year extension, look for some QB competition and / or QB to groom while we go through more two more years of Carr, a revised team's focus and players and a new coaching staff. The let's see what happens.
