These Final 6 Games Pose A Challenge to Our Texans

Okay, so we're 1-9. We could definitely be better, however, I think we are slowly improving (aside from the previous Kansas City game).

We can't do anything about the first 10 games, but we sure can about the next 6. Here is our remaining schedule:

St. Louis

@ Baltimore

@ Tennessee

Arizona

Jacksonville

@ 49ers

These are teams that we can definetly compete with. I think this presents tremdous oppurtunity for our football team. If we can even win 5 of our last 6than our confidence would really be up, many coaches and players jobs would be saved and the season would be salvaged in many ways.

We can do this, lets turn it around. Lets raise some eyebrows amongst ourselves in the leauge. Cheer us on fans, I know your just dying to!

Go Texans:texflag:

We haven't had a lead in over 130 minutes, that's over 2 games, and have only held a lead for 24 minutes and 58 seconds all year. Improvement? And please, please, please, if we do somehow manage to win another game or two this year Mr. McNair, please do not keep any of this coaching staff.

You mean we're gonna' lose one?! :um:

Man, that' being a little pessimistic for you, 'eh? ;)

GO TEAM, FIGHT, 7-9 HE'RE WE COME!! :texflag: :ok:

I'd love to spoil the Jags playoff plans for Christmas. That in itself would be great to see.

We just lost to a very average KC team 45-17 at home. I don't know that I would call that improvement. The only thing we have to look forward to is the chance to grab Reggie Bush next April. Now that would make things exciting!

I am probably the only Texans fan in all of Canada... living up here in the great white north I am able to catch Texans games on satellite and I must be the only person in all of Canada with a Robinson jersey ... but I have to admit this team is absolutely god awful... I cannot recall watching a more inept, incompetent football team ever.... watching them is painful and is a great way to waste 3 hours and kill your day... who cares if we finish 4 and 12?? That is not acceptable.... why is it that Texans fans have such low standards and low expecations? If the organization is not committed to winning a super bowl then all bets are off and fold the team.... this team has a clown for a QB, a pathetic offensive line, no pass rush, an awful group of receivers and a coaching staff that has given up a long time ago.... the only answer is to build through the draft since we have no players with any trade value... take Matt L. #1 overall from USC and make him your cornerstone.... somehow the Texans have to find a way to attract high profile free agents to come to Houston... what sales pitch does Houston have to attract any high profile free agent studs to come to Houston next year? I can just imagine the conversation now... " Mr Shawn Alexander this is Dom Capers... We would love to sign you and make you an offer... how would you feel about playin in Houston ..... Shawn says " forgive me for laughing but you must be kidding.. what do you have to offer me Dom..... Dom pauses and thinks and there is silence on the phone.... ummmm... umm.... well..... I'll get back to you on that one" .
OUT
Bubbles

Well Bubbles, I don't think drafting Matt Leinart will accomplish anything except tie up a lot of money in one position.

Draft Bush in the first round and take a solid lineman in the second. Let Carr test the free agency waters and match any offers if they are not outlandish. Get rid of Casserly and IF there is a quality replacement for Dom...then make the change. Lastly, cut your losses with Buchannon and try to pick up a free agent capable of actually covering someone and/or able to tackle. These are the first steps that we could take to turn this around. However, with luck we would only reach the 7-9 mark next year...

I hope McNair is smart enough not to attempt to raise season ticket prices!

Just like our young, fast team made things exciting this year? No thanks... draft a LT and a guard, then focus on the many holes of our defense.

I kinda prefer the Nick Saban attitude for the rest of the season .... "We are building a team for the FUTURE"

I dont care what the score is I just want to see these players COMPETE , so we know if they actually belong in the NFL or they should be flipping burgers somewhere .

This whole season is nothing more than an extended training camp for these players and coaches . The record does not matter .... 1-15 at this point would NOT bother me where as 5-11 or 6-10 would be a dissaster come draft day .

This team lacks Three things .....

TALENT at multiple positions

Other than AJ and Carr the offense is a collection of scraps from the junk heap . Gaffney , Bradford , Bruener .... these jokers couldnt catch to save their mothers .
Then ya have the O-line ..... Other than Pitts and Weigert (When healthy) Not a single player on the Texans line would start for any other team in the NFL ..... Steve McKinney made rookie Drew Hodgden look like an ALL PRO at center in his first start .... But its easy to look good when you are replacing a talentless ..... " We are one of the top ten O-lines in the NFL" ... Steve SHADDIT and take a seat on the bench ... err how bout the STANDS !

Then you have the defense .... I think most of the Texans problems there revolve around their PATHETIC LB play . Babin the first round draft pick that they gave up the house to get has been benched , A. Peek looks like just what he is , a Special Ed .... errr Special teams player . Morlon Greenwood gets pushed around by little old ladies .
Wong hasnt been the answer inside .....Anyone else think this team misses Sharper now ?

Add to that M.Coleman at one safety who has been nothing short of HORRIBLE . Think that tree he hit while driving drunk down Kirby affected his play ? What a joke .
Then you have a rookie at the other safety spot who has had his up's and down's ... looks real good against the run but completely LOST in coverage .Then again its easy to look that bad when your front seven generates NO pass rush .

Coaches who can prepare the team and put them into situations that they can be successful .
Capers preaches an agressive defensive philosophy yet we have not seen them be agressive .
Pendry is somewhat difficult to critique at this point as he doesnt have much talent to work with on the offensive side of the ball .... But what I have seen .... I DONT like.

Last but not least and maybe more important than the coaches is this "Riverboat Gambler" they have for a GM . He has spent the first overall selection on a QB and never givent him a line capable of keeping him off his a** .... Cut the leaders of his defense and replaced them with .... nothing . Traded away half of a draft for a "Tweener" in Jason Babin .
How about passing up Derrick Johnson in the last draft for Travis Johnson . I think he got his Johnsons mixxed up there . Derrick is probably the defensive RotY and a playmaker at a position of need while Travis is ... a Mr. T look alike Who has been nothing above average . Just another cruel joke ....
I really dont want to see this imbecile run another draft for this team.

There you have it ... Now if we could only go 1-15 , get a new coach and GM before the next draft this team will go places .:brickwall
