Play the bench...evaluate what else we have

As we play for the #1 pick, we may as well see what we have on the bench. Evaluating talent like Ragone, Morency, Mathis, etc. as starters in game situations will give us an opportunity to see if these folks can fill-in as starters, compete for positions next year or possibly gain us something via trade.

I'd also like to see McKensie (sp) play at CB.

Agree/disagree? Anyone else you'd like to see get more PT?

I agree wholeheartedly ! Even setting aside the issues surrounding Carr
including whether or not to exercise the option we have to extend his contract, we invested a first day Draft pick in Ragone. And Morency to.
This is the perfect opportunity to play these guys, especially Ragone whom
we may want to display to other NFL teams for possible trades to recapture
Draft picks Casserly & Capers have squandered. And who knows, he might really impress. And as others have suggested here on this Board, if they retain Carr they should still make him compete as the starter. C'mon Coach, put Ragone in the game and let the competition begin ! And put Wand in at guard or RT - another first day pick.

Good suggestion, give Wand an op to play RT and see if he can handle it.

Maybe the coaches will see the clues and apply it to other players: From the Chronicle (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/3481892.html):

Sanders played for the Browns for five seasons until he signed with the Texans in the offseason. The injury to Faggins allowed him to get more playing time, and he's improved the last two games.

"His stock's rising," Capers said. "He had a neck stinger in camp, and he got off to a slow start, but he's come on lately and done well when he's gotten an opportunity."

Letting the benched players strut their stuff - if, in fact, they have any to strut just might be the lighter to fuel a small flame in this team. As has been said hundreds of times - what have we got to lose? In addition, we have something to gain. At the very least, the younger players should play their little hearts out - if not for the Texans - then for other coaches who could be looking. It also might bring back some of the fans who are "leaving in droves." It would be interesting to watch which is more than I can say for the current roster.
