My vote definitely goes to Reggie Bush on this one. The Texans are not ready to give up on david carr just yet.

Isn't ferguson supposed to be the next coming of TonyB? TonyB when he was heathy.

no, boseli was nasty and HUGE. He could beat you w/pure strength also. Ferguson is not in that class, he is more like Walter Jones. He excells as pass blocking, and is average elsewehre. He has long arms and very quick feet.

Alexander will STRONGLY disagree with you about Jones being "average" elsewhere.

Winston is better as an overall lineman and fits our system more, not to mention he at least weighs 300 lbs. We have enough small linemen that get pushed around.

Yep, he's had at least one major injury, so he meets our main requirement...

We also have wade and riley, so saying we need the biggest linemen is not true. We run a zone blocking scheme, where the linemen slide and move to a "zone." The linemen used in these schemes are not always the largest, hence why wade and wand dont fit our team.

sorry, I didnt quite make myself clear. I was not saying Jones was average elsewhere, i was saying Fergueson was average elsewhere. Jones is a stud, and has nothing to prove. Fergueson is still a "project" and could turn out to be like Jones. He has physical skills more closely to Jones than anyone else.

The closest person you will find to Boseli is Eric Winston. He can be a mauler, and a finess blocker. He is very large and athletic. He is also not limited to only LT.

If Winston had not torn his ACL, (?) I forget which one he tore, he would be ranked ahead of Fergueson as the top OT. He was the top LT in the nation, and even in last years draft, would have been the top OT taken.

I realize they don't fit our scheme, at least as OT. Both would be ok at OG and Riley has looked better there, but both are way to slow to protect the outside corner on passing plays. Riley is likely gone at the end of the year and Wade has a huge contract so he will likely stay, so hopefully they will move him inside to OG with Weigert and have Pitts at LT and someone new (Winston, free agent, Ferguson) at RT, and either McKinney, Hodgdon, or someone else at C.

If all those players are in the draft hopefully the new gm will have the common sense to trade down a couple spots.

Trade down and take the best available OT. Honestly, I wouldn't care which one. They're all pretty close in ability and each seems to bring something different to the table.

"Other" should be winning this by a landslide.

who is that other that you are speaking of? Give me some details.

I'll start with the basics:

D'brick
Winston
Hawk
Brooks
Olsen (if he were to declare)
J. Thomas
M. Lewis
Mario
Kiwi
Sean Tay...Derick Jo...reggie who? ---i would rather have anyone listed above.

If the Texans have the opportunity to draft Reggie Bush, I wouldn't hesitate. I hear that he is a once in a decade running back, ala Barrry Sanders, Eric Dickerson, etc. If Bush is not available, I would move down and get the best OT available either in the draft or by trade. I would concentrate on offensive and defensive linemen. After that, maybe TE or LB. Any upgrade in line play, on either side, is vastly needed.

Living in Southern California, I get to see USC play all the time. And Reggie Bush is the real deal.

We also have enough big guys to get embaraseed by Freeney. You pick the best LT, not the biggest one, whether he is Winston or D'Brick is the scouting departments job...

I'm sorry, I don't care how bad our offensive line is...with the talent in this draft, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you take Ferguson with the first pick. PLEASE do not take Ferguson. Anyone who thinks this would be a great first pick is being ridiculous here. I'm hoping that whoever thinks we should is planning on us trading down for him because if we take him with the number 1 overall, we deserve to be the laughing stock of the league. The bottom line is, you take the best player available...period. There's a reason we're first pick in the draft. Use it. Especially with this year's talent. Fix your O-line problems deeper in the draft or through free-agency. Not with your first pick.

i believe orlando pace was #1 overall and walter jones was like #2 overall, robert gallery was #2 overall. Some guys are that good, even linemen...they are just harder to find.
