Optimistic about next week

Since the entire world will say they have no chance to even be competitive, and there's absolutely no pressure on them, I hope they play loose.

We have no choice but to be optimistic. It's the playoffs!! One game at a time. Nothing else that happened in the season matters. Just next week and anything can happen. Love being in the playoffs. Back to work Texans.

I think it's going to be a lot closer than what the naysayers think its going to be. Also, I believe that the buttkicking at the hands of the Patsies actually might be a good thing and may provide the extra motivation to win this game.

When we feed the vegan good things happen... Today Arian Foster became the first RB in NFL history to post 100 yards rushing in his first 3 playoff games.

Keep on feeding him!!!

Why not?

They have great players and so do we. If ours come out and play great then I dont' see why we wouldn't at least have a chance at winning.

I honestly feel if Foster dominates the game then we have as good a shot to beat anyone.

Any given Sunday.

Yes, I would have liked our chances against the Pats more in October than I do now. But you still have to play the game, and the Pats have been vulnerable in a few games this year, even at home. I don't put the chances at winning at more than about 15%, but that's still a lot more than 0%.

Anything's possible. If the real Texans show up, they can win. If not, well, I can be a Seattle fan for the rest of the playoffs I guess. Not that they are going very far either. :kitten:

I don't see why not. They can beat Washington and can beat Atlanta or SF. They can beat any of those teams.

I'm going to remain optimistic, too. It's the playoffs and anything can happen. Does Schaub care me if the team has to be put on his back? Yes. But, if Foster can get over 100 again next week, then we have a very good chance. Defense is playing better, too.

Dang where is Bullblitz when things go right ? He only shows up when something bad happens so he can rub it in our face.

Optimistic? Explain, no really

i will explain it for him

Offense showed signs of life, Foster looked good, we kept Schaub upright.

Defense looked like last year/earlier this years defense.

Most of all is because we have a chamce to go and try to win next week, better than not having the chance.

Some of us know that we have special players just like the Players do. We believe that those players will show up.

Players like Foster and Watt have done nothing but show up every single playoff game...why should it be different?

I'm listening.......... Go on. I'm still a sucka

Because we all used to believe in Santa Clause, if little kids can believe a fat man rides in a slay pulled by flying rein deer and delivers toys to every kid in the world then i can believe we will win this game dammit :) !

Well foster and watt are ballers but you didnt mention our qb???

Teams have gone far in the playoffs with lesser QBs.

If this team was going to go far it was going to be on the back of the running game and the defense. I thought that was what carried them last year and I think that is what will carry them this year if they go far.

Time to find out if they can go to the next level. At least they can go in with no real pressure because they are expected to lose. House money baby!:shades:

Steven Ridley will get a 130yrd TD in 1 run. Brady will throw a TD to Brandon Harris for a NE td. Vince Wilfork will eat Matt Schaubs jock strap while getting a sack fumble that will be returned by Connie Chung the LB. Gostkowski will attempt a 80 yrd field goal and miss but knock the only texans fan unconscious in the stands, and afterward Gronk will bang your gf.

thats what im looking forward to. I already left my gf so goodluck to her getting gronked.

Because this offense is dependent on a successful running game, not stellar QB play. If the defense has to respect the running attack that gives the receivers an advantage.

As long as our running game is clicking and our defense is stingy we have a shot.

Foster is the engine that powers this offense. The running game has always powered Denver-style offenses. The first time we beat Manning, it wasn't because Schaub out-dueled him, it was because Ron Dayne had a career day. When Elway finally won a Super Bowl, it was because TD carried them to the win. Both times, IMO. RGIII is successful because that rookie RB, Alfred Morris is a beast (did I mention he rushed for 1600+ yds this year?) and other teams have to respect the run. That's the way this offense has always worked.

If you keep listening to the QB-worshiping talking heads on the boob tube instead of studying what WE do, you'll always be disappointed. ...and misguided.

(it used to be Foster/Tate but Tate seems to have vanished)

I think Foster is back on track and Schaub got a confidence boost. Need the guys like Walt er to get open. Joseph player of game imo.

I want the very worst storm possible that still allows us to play.
At both NE and Denver. I want another home game.

Any given Sunday.....

There have been way larger upsets than what could happen next Sunday.

i see what your saying. but wasn't that the game plan the first time? when we fall behind our qb is worthless. i did say worthless, do you agree?

Well if u remember our first run in the pats game was a 13 yard run that got called back for holding and then the next series we had another long run that came back, and by that time our D was playing so bad that we had no choice but to go to the air, but just because i miss a buck today dont mean i will miss him tomorrow.

If we don't try to attack Wilfork and do more pitch plays and things of that nature I think we can get the run game going again. The line played like men today.

Considering we completely dominated Cinci and we only beat them 19-13, I can't say I'm optomistic.

Just because I don't think we'll win doesn't mean I don't want us to win. Per the usual, I'll be rooting my butt off!

On the Pats boards their fans, in general, are not taking anything for granted. They keep talking about 2010 when they blasted the Jets 40-something to 3 in December only to lose to the Jets in the postseason.
