IMO their victory today was more impressive than the Texans win 2 weeks ago in Reliant.

Yes.

I just thought, a few weeks ago after our first game against them, that we would have 2013 and they would take over in 2014.

After today, it's been accelerated to 2013.

Yes, the Colts are better. Their QB can actually maneuver and still read progressions properly. Ours is going to one WR and he either falls down or throws it away if the guys is not open or he has a defender near him.

Having a proper QB, a stable QB, is the difference.

No.

Going forward into next year I still don't think they will be better nor will they be favorite to win the division.

I think we need to plan on winning the suck-for-Luck....I-mean-Manziel race.

1-15 ought to do it. We'll win one game in Indy.

It's all about how they are playing right now. The system we have right now, people want to look at our records & say, "that's who you are" when in reality, it doesn't always work that way.

There have been many times where we were playing better at the end of the year than the other teams in our division, but since we screwed up those first 12 games.... it didn't matter.

It's easier for our fans to see it when it's another team playing better than our record. Don't know why it's that way, but it is.

The Colts are playing better than we are right now. They are the better team in the AFCSouth right now. They're play off expectations are probably higher than ours right now.

We'll hang the banner next season, but we've got a lot of work to do.

Unfortunately, yes.

Those expressions on the Texans bench just said it all. Nice two year run, but unless the Texans get a new QB with some ability, the Colts will own the South.

We have to be rid of Kubiak in order to go in that radical of a direction.

Manziel will be a sophomore next year...Kubiak will be here at least 2 more years. Would have to hope that Kubiak gets fired after 2014 and that Manziel skips his senior year. Any earlier, and we can't even TRY for him...let alone GET him.

Plus, he might just be another Tebow. A college phenom who cannot hack it in the NFL. And there's no way Kubiak would even consider a scrambling, exciting QB. Would just remind him of his own failures behind Elway back in Denver.

We're screwed for at least 2 more seasons. McNair will not move on from Gary until at least two more pretty uninspired seasons by the team.

We're hosed until 2015 at the earliest. I just will have found another NFL team by then.

Andrew Luck had 19 TDs and 18 INTs against the rest of the league this year. He had 4 TDs and zero INTs against the Texans.

They're definitely the hardest playing team in the AFC South. I can't put my finger on it, but the effort the Texans give has diminished greatly. The Texans had everything to play for, the Colts nothing. And it was the Colts that played as if their season depended on this game. I don't get it.

Isn't that a coaching problem then??

Not to be argumentative, but, ya know, I didn't really see a lack of effort on the field (I don't think). I saw the right side of the Oline suck (just because they SUCK) and Schaub unable to cope with it--so much so that he sucked even when they protected him. I saw predictable play-calling on O. I saw some great play-calling for the opposing offense and a QB who put the dang ball in his receivers' hands.

That's about it, besides those black & white, striped Colts players.

I really did not see any lack of effort on any part of the D. Stupidity maybe, but not lack of effort.

There was an incomplete pass to Hilton in the 2nd half that looked like it could be a fumble. It took about 4 seconds before a d-lineman (Watt, who else?), to hustle over to the ball. They just aren't chasing the ball, coming off blocks, forcing turnovers the way they did earlier in the year. Tired? Hurt? I don't have the answer. But this is not the same unit by a long shot.

I saw that too. Manning jumped on him, knocked the ball out, then celebrated. The ref was looking around, he probably would have called it a fumble. He was standing right there.

A second ref came from behind the play to wave off the catch.

I couldn't believe no one was jumping on that ball.

Yep, the texans two season dominance is over. Seriously is there anyone that wouldn't trade the entire texans team for the colts heading into next season?

I think the Texans believe they are better than they really are and just don't get very emotional/up for the game. You can probably put some of the blame on the coaching staff.

i am not sure Colts best team yet but I am sure they have the best QB by a long shot.

We get Mario for the first pick they get Luck(y). That is the way the ball bounces. To top it off we get nothing when Mario leaves. The Dallas Cowboys build a dynasty by trading Hershel Walker we get crap, that is just poor planning.

Also I think based on them getting Luck they will seriously contend for a Super Bowl before the Texans. The Colts are going up the Texans down.

You can say our front office did a great job but the only two things I remember that they have done a good job on so far is Joseph/Manning and draft Watt. I am sure someone can remember more. List them to make me feel better. Any think they(fo) have ever made any mistakes??

I think this is a little premature. The Colts were the better team today.

Somehow or another, we still won 12 games. They didn't. All they had to do was come out expired & beat the piss-poor Texans two weeks ago.

They're definitely better off than we thought they were. Let's see how they play with their new coach. Let's see how they handle that next year.

I've seen nothing to make me think the long term trend for the Texans is downward. If anything, with Kubiak & Schaub we may have plateaued. We'll see what this dynamic duo will do in the play-offs. I think Kubiak was very uncharacteristic and unleashed his QB last year against the Ravens, Let's see what he does next week.

Too early to tell. However, based on ms at qb and Kubes and Marciano--it's not hard to see the colts tops in afc south next yr

Just look at the entire team.

They drafted most of these guys like Brown and Cushing. They've made plenty of good moves, you don't get to where they are right now unless you make a bunch of good moves.

Yeah they have made some mistakes but no FO is perfect.

Yes they are. They have a good qb that is only going to get better. Put more talent on that team and they are even better.

We needed a colts fumble on the goal line and punt block and TD for Braman to beat them last time.

They are already better and hopefully the other two scrub teams don't fall into a good qb in the draft.

& they needed two Matt Schaub interceptions & a ST screw up to beat us this time.

What's your point?

Andrew Luck looking every bit the franchise QB as he sweeps the 49ers/Seahawks while completing his 9th 4th Quarter comeback in just 21 games.

People think I'm crazy but I would trade JJ for Andrew Luck head up . By making this trade the Texans would be a much better team because the QB hides more faults than any other position .

of course the Colts are better. This isn't the preseason so we have actual proof. Does anyone seriously think that anyone outside of Houston think that the Schaub led Texans are superior to the Luck led Colts?

In hindsight I'm digging this post so much. Last years screw ups are the same as this years screw ups.

The Colts are clearly the best team in the division..... again.

Thankfully the Texans are clearly no longer the most screwed up team in the division. That's the Jaguars property now and dammit they're trying so hard you just got to give it to them.

My God, I would hate that, but I don't think you're crazy. The NFL is a QB driven league now, and the league does not want defense to be able to defend. they want high scoring and they want QBs and WRs to be protected. Even if Watt is better (which he is, at this point), Luck will have the greater impact over the long term because he has the league office in his pocket, just like every other star QB.

The Ravens paid Flacco after he won the SB , the Texans paid Schaub before he got close . Another classic error of the Texans over valuing their guys .

JJ would be the one player who might not sign early for a chance to play out a contract to win .

Yes they are. The Colts rebuilt while the Texans were taking baby steps - baby steps that are ending in falling down.

You would be stupid not to. JJ has a chance to be the best DL ever but Luck is going to win many, MANY games for the Colts. That kid is unfairly good. Did you see that throw to TY Hilton against Seattle? I can't remember the last time I saw a throw like that. And the Colts have him for his entire career most likely.. Depressing.

"Are the Indy Colts now the best team in the AFC South ?"
Obviously that question is a nobrainer, an utterly silly question today.

Of course he has to be from Houston too.

Above Posted in Dec 2012

Not sure it was all Luck getting Luck. I think they made sure they didn't win until they had 1st round clinched. They changed QB's late in the season and starting being competitive. I may be wrong.

Colts rebuilt overnight it seems while the Texans slept . The Texans woke up to a new league where systems don't win , QBs and the team with the most good to really good players do . If your special teams suck , you may have talent issues .

Of course they are. I saw it coming last year.

But heads were buried in the sand all around.

I think after watching Jacoby and Holliday in the playoffs and thinking , man we could use guys like that , then remembering we had them , convinced me we have real issues .
