4th and 4 at the goal and down by 17

Let's kick a field goal. We need the 3 points....

That was a very poor decision on Capers part. He called a time out and should have went for it regardless of the outcome. So many of the "fans" got up and walked out after that call.

What was he thinking?????

He was thinking 45-17 looked a little better than 45-14 I guess. Why is it so damn hard to throw a ball up to AJ in the end zone every once in a while? The plays they call in the red zone, well i guess its no different anywhere else on the field, are mind boggling.

This really bothered me too. He wastes a time out to kick a field goal, when we are 4th and goal, with 4 yards to go. But he decides to go for it on 4th and 1 on our own 30.

Capers would rather lose 17-44 than try and make it a game, if it means losing 14-44.

Pathetic. I have never been more discouraged as a fan...

It keeps hitting new lows doesnt it? I come into every week, thinking this is going to be it, this week, they wont care about their stupid gameplan, and they will come out and want to win a game. Good thing Im not holding my breath.

I actually didn't have an issue with either decision. We had 3 shots to get it in and couldn't do it. We need 3 scores to tie it. Why not kick it?

We still need a several points so why not go for it on 4th and 1 on our own 30? What is the worst that can happen, you still lose?

The same can be said about the 4th and goal. lose by 7, or lose by 3.

Besides, did you, or capers actually think the defense was going to hold the Chiefs to zero points the next few drives?

I feel you. I mean any given sunday right? I just want a competetive game. I want Carr to throw downfield to Johnson. I want the defense to not give up over 200 yards on the ground.

Is that too much to ask?!?!

In a "normal" NFL game, you kick the FG there and cut it to two scores. The problem is, everyone knows that a FG is not going to help this team, whereas a TD there, coupled with a rare stop from the defense on the subsequent possession, might actually light a fire under these guys. At this point in this team's season, you have to go for it in that situation. You have nothing left to lose that you're not going to lose anyway.

This is just deja vu all over again of the Indy game, i.e. its about as unrealistic to think FGs will work against KC as they will against Indy.

I think Capers thought was that he we were going to have to kick a field goal anyway might as well get it out of the way. He just forgot that our defense had not stopped them all day, so they got to run 6 minutes off the clock and then run some more.

I didn't have a big problem with the decision to kick once a decision was freaking made. The coming to the decision was what I had a problem with. When it looked like they were going to go for it, Capers was sprinting down the sideline to get the timeout. Burn a timeout to kick a FG when that's what you were going to do anyway. I just don't get the mentality.

Not like any of it would have made a difference since the offense is crap, and the defense is even worse. But that just impressed upon me that Capers simply has no clue.
