Did #76 give up his first sack of the season to Freeney in the 2nd half this past Sunday?

Pretty sure he had gone 13 games w/o a sack.. Anybody confirm?

They mentioned during the game that he hasn't been called for holding since 2008.

I don't know how rare that is, but it seems impressive.

I just hope he locks down that d-bag Jarred Allen. He seems to have something out for Schaub.

They need to give Jared Allen a little of what the Jets did to Cush.

There are very few legit reasons for hurting another human being, but that dumb redneck ass, mullet wearing douche bag Jared Allen has it coming......

Easy there Ming...

:D

How many sacks has Newton given up? I had it at three a couple games ago then he went out injured.

Still 3.
Harris has 2.

Winston has 6 for the Chiefs.

Newton also was charged with 5 false starts, and 2 holding penalties.
Harris has zero penalty.

Winston has the same number of penalties as Winston.

The Texans run nearly 2 more passing plays per game, with about 60 more passing yards per game.

Thanks. i cannot see the rush to replace Newton. I think he compares favorably with D. Brown at same year. His penalties should go down with experience.

Not counting Winston's first year, he averaged about 4 false starts. 1.8 holds and 6 sacks allowed.

Newton's numbers prorated out (if he plays full-time) a bit worse; however, Winston has not done well the last 3 years.

If Newton flattens out, he looks like an average Winston.

But there's always a chance that Newton will improve. So we may end up having an upgrade here, providing he can stay healthy.

Who was the greatest offensive tackle on a QB's blind side of all-time??

I don't know who y'all conjured up in your heads, but even that tackle would be impressed with the bolded.

Funny though, when he was asked about that stat on 1560, he more or less downplayed it...

And for the record, that was one helluva "reach" as a draft pick.

He got flagged for holding one single time his entire career; how awesome is that?

Look in a mirror lately?

So if this guy never holds, and rarely ever gives up a sack... why isn't he ever mentioned as one of the best in the league (besides in TT)?

LT Duane Brown deserves Pro Bowl berth

Texans left tackle Duane Brown is having a second consecutive outstanding season.

He played well enough last season to make the Pro Bowl but was left off the team. This season, Brown has been a man on a mission: make the Pro Bowl for the first time and win his first Super Bowl ring.

Brown (6-4, 320) signed a contract extension in preseason and has continued his exceptional performance. He’s allowed one sack this season and three over the last two seasons. He hasn’t been called for holding since 2009.

Brown has excellent feet. He moves them quickly and stays balanced. Defensive ends have a difficult time fooling him. He’s got a wide base and anchors well. He knows how to use his hands to counter moves by pass rushers, and he’s superb at redirecting them.

Brown has gotten stronger through the years, and he packs an initial punch that can stone his man. His coaches say not only is he a terrific pass protector, but Brown does a splendid job of run blocking.

He gets off the ball fast. He can get to the second level in a hurry. He pulls well when asked to. In short, Brown has become a premier left tackle who deserves to make the Pro Bowl for the first time.
