Bears announced they have signed G/C Andre Gurode to the active roster, waived DT Amobi Okoye.

3, 2, 1 thread suggesting we pick him up.

It's national "Let Go of Former Texans Busts" day

Right?

I saw the Babin thread first and was like "Oh!"

Then I looked down and saw Okoye waived and was like "OH!"

The I wished I could look down and see a "Carr waived" thread. Would've been the trifecta.

Schiano cut him from the Bucs earlier. I guess him and Babin can go sit down next to VY now.

I heard Corey Bradford was recently cut from his flag football team at the local Y.

Alright now, lets not lump Corey Bradford in with these guys. I have a soft spot for Bradford. We knew what his issues were when we got him from Green Bay and all he ever did was run fast for us. Hell of a nice guy too.

That's the only guarantee he came with. He'd be under the ball and there was a chance he'd catch it. Nobody ever said #8 (aka "The Checkdown Master") would be looking down the field and throw it to him.

could've had derrick johnson! that one still bugs the crap out of me.

Me too. Although, DJ wasn't very good as a 4-3 LB. It wasn't until they switched to a 3-4 where he began to flourish. I wanted him at the time though and still do, especially with our issues at ILB now

Would be nice to see him paired with Cush

We could have had Patrick Willis also. He was taken one pick after Okoye.

I wonder how many players can say that their best stretch of pro football was the first four games of their career? Okoye had four sacks after week four in 2007.

I'm still amazed when I see the Giants on TV and see Carr standing there collecting a paycheck. Good thing Eli is a pretty healthy QB.

I wouldn't wish for an injury to Eli but I am not above wishing for some "circumstance" that might come about to force the Giants to start Carr for 3-4 weeks. I'd love to see that. I think it would be interesting to see if he's changed even one tiny bit in the years he's sat on the sidelines. I mean, I don't doubt for a second that he knows their offense inside and out. In all that time how could he not? And it's not like they run some little rookie-baby offense that's designed to spoon feed him the game at this level like the crap Palmer gave him here.

Basically I'd like to see if all that time and practice could overcome his natural affinity for bugging out and checking down.

Well, just remember we could have had Charles Rogers instead of Andre but for Detroit's massive mistake. Think of that and perhaps it will ease some of the pain.

With Wade as our DC, we shouldn't miss big time especially front 7. He seems to has an excellent nose for talent.

Go Texans!!!

I think the biggest advantage he'll give us is to be able to identify where the problem is. I know we weren't getting many sacks back then & our pass rush appeared to be lacking.

But my contention at the time, was that our secondary mainly the CB position was the bigger problem. I've never been a fan of Dunta, but I do recognize his talent. He just never was a #1 CB. Not in this league.

I think a true talent analyzer would have had CB higher on our list much earlier than we did. A helluva pass rush helps a secondary, I get it. But a good secondary can help a pass rush. It's a symbiotic relationship.

Jacoby Jones and Trindon Holliday. Here we need a decent kick returner in the worst way, and yet look at what those 2 busts are doing.

Yep, egg or chicken first thing. I think, Cushing getting injury really hurt our D and Wade is trying to get pieces of puzzle together right now. Hopefully, we will have a new look D by the time we play the Titans. Merci filling WLOB may really help us and hope Sharpton be able to handle M position at above average level. Another key position is if Rudd be able to handle his position. I am really hoping things works out for us as Wade scheme supposedly player friendly.

Go Texans!!!
