He cites one drive in the third period and says, "See! We can do it! We can definitely do it!"

One drive? One pass? One TD?

I could land one shot on a professional boxer but he's not going to continue to let me hit him. I may get one good shot but that does NOT mean that I could land another.

This is my problem - the mindframe of this team. The coach praises Johnathan Wells because he inspires guys to play hard. Ok. I Like Wells too but WE LOST!! People are NOT executing anything and NO, it's not just Carr. We're starting to accept less-talented people giving slightly above average effort with good demeanor as being acceptible football.

Last week's effort against the Colts was NOT acceptable - it was dismal. Granted, the 2 muffed punts made it look acceptable, but it was not in any shape or form and I'm tired of hearing about that ONE DRIVE in the third.

Guys - every team in the NFL can put together one 'decent' drive in a game. That does not make us good and we should be leary of falling into that type of complaceny or general acceptance of some distorted type of progression.

This is why we disregard anything Steve McKinney ever says. How did he get his own radio segment anyway.
 
We have also played a 9-0 team twice, 3 7-2 teams, a 6-3 team, and a whopping 3 teams under .500.

The rest of the season we play 4 2-7 teams, a 4-5 and 2 teams over .500

Do we need to rebuild the team? Yes

Are we going to get the first pick? No

Expect the texans to draft 5-7 in 06
 
I agree with the records point. However, I truly think that until we start 'targeting' the 9-0 teams and start looking at them as an NFL colleague and not the big bad wolf who we'll never beat, well....we'll never beat them or be in their league.

We have to attack them. Whether it be through game-planning, strategy (And NO, that fake reverse we run 2-3 times every single game does not count!), out-of-the-box thinking, or even a quarter or so of RUN-n-SHOOT - whatever, we have to make them 'think and react' when they play us.

As of now, they simply get last weeks game film and defend that. It hasn't changed in the slightest amount in 10 weeks. Come off the edge and hang in a cover 2 - done. Texans lose.

We need a leader, somewhere on this team - ANYWHERE (preferably in the command role of Coach) to lead us to where we need to go. We need a single leader - we have none at this moment!

Get over it - we did as well as we could last week against the NFLs best
team, especially when you consider the game was up there. I think last years loss in Indy was far more embarrasing. Part of the reason was Indy let up at the end - don't know if they felt sorry for us or just tired of toying with
us. No matter, they're a tremendous team and way above our level this
year. We'll get them next year !
 
Ha!!! We are drafting 5-7 guys. So we don't have a pick in the top 5 this year. what does this look like, the past two seasons.

To get in the playoffs you have to beat good teams. To win the superbowl you have to beat the best teams.
 
you have to admit though that the guy has talent at LG. he is definately past his prime but he can play the LG posistion.
 
Well if the Saints let Bentley go we go after him like he is that particular chick on prom night. Past that we draft and pick up a FA that could play the RG position and push Hogdon. The draft we have to get someone to play the RT later on LT or RG position. I really do not see Weigert back.
 
Yeah McKenney does not impress me on 610 sports. Then again the *****s in the morning do not impress me either lol.
 
McKinney isn't playing as bad as some of the others on the line, but he's earning way too much than is justified by his play. Someone making as much as McKinney should be a Pro Bowl player, but McKinney doesn't even come close. He's an average starter on one of the worst (if not THE worst) offensive lines in the NFL.

Surely, a General Manager with a brain (not Casserly) can get someone better for the same or less pay next year.
 
I really can't stand when McKinney or other offensive lineman keep saying things like "there are other people on the field" and "its not all our fault" but that quote from McKinney was taken way out of context. In that interview he said we did it on that one drive, so why can't we do it on all others? He wasn't all excited about doing on one drive but wondering like the rest of us, if you can look good doing it once a game, why not the rest of it?!?
