Oregon vs USC

Kenjon Barner is sick, 5 td's over 300 yards reminds me of a mini-foster great feet, balance & vision. Moving his grade up to 2nd. Mario'Ta is next evolution QB position. Speed/Intelligence, arm strength/leadership, game film study/discipline, size/strength, speed of the game & breakdown.

FYI,

In 1988 Barry Sanders final season @ Oklahoma State he broke 300 yards four times. His biggest output was against Texas Tech (in Tokyo) 332 yards on 44 carries & 4 TD's. Last night against USC (in LA) U of O Junior Kenjon Barner rushed for 321 yards on 38 carries, 8.4 yards per carry & 5 TD's. But don't let stats speak for themselves, he was dynamic & reason Oregon prevailed. All tough yards extended by hard running, vision to see cutback lanes, explosion through holes & footwork reminiscent of the Barry Sanders, for those here that can remember the little shake & bake, stop & go yeah he has all of those plus a very fluid running motion that's deceiving to defenders. Like Foster he is injury prone, so plus value here if he slips, barring injury he could be a legitimate Heisman finalist in NY.

disclaimer: not intended to confuse players, there is & will be only one Barry Sanders. Barry was built low to the ground, shifty, yet powerful with low center of gravity, he would just drop his head like a turtle in his shell & spin around, stop & change direction on a dime. not really a second gear but explosive, running full speed in couple steps. Kenjon is 1" taller & 5 lbs lighter, can also stop & change direction on a dime but his elusiveness comes via his second gear. Has flair running style (high steps, shake moves, stutter steps) solid ball protection, switches ball to correct side or wraps up with both arms, great vision, also very patient waiting for blocking to develop.

From http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/risersandfallers talks a little about Barner, basicly similar to what I saw & posted,
He finished with 38 carries for a school-record 321 rushing yards and five touchdowns, averaging 8.4 yards per carry. Barner used his patience and foot quickness to survey the field, but he was impressive in shifting gears to run away from Trojan defenders. Barner can force poor angles and win the sprint to the edge, getting to the outside before pursuit can close him off

The difference I have is after closing they conceed
he could come off the board in the third or fourth round.
I would not grade him any lower than 2nd rd. with possiblitiy of actually breaking into 1st rd. per closing out season impressive form & wowing scouts @ Pro Day & combine with sub 4.4 speed. Maybe he is more like Chris Johnson? I just saw more downhill cut back running instead of kicking it to the outside than they did I guess?

Lane Kiffin is a piece of crap:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2012/11/08/usc-fined-deflated-game-balls/1691303/

USC has been fined and reprimanded by the Pac-12 after it was discovered that one of the Trojans' student managers had intentionally deflated game balls during the first half of Saturday's loss to Oregon.

There are several things wrong with taking game balls below their normal, NCAA-regulated levels – there's a reason the NCAA and its officials keeps close tabs on the amount of air in the game-used footballs.

Another excerpt from the article:

A month ago, Kiffin and USC came under scrutiny for a jersey-switching episode during a win over Colorado.

USC changed backup quarterback Cody Kessler's number from 6 to 35 before a game against the Buffaloes on Oct. 20, with No. 35 the same jersey number as punter Kyle Negrete. Kessler was then used on a two-point conversion in the first half while wearing No. 35 before moving back to No. 6 for the second half.

The NCAA rulebook says the following about swapping jersey numbers: "Numbers shall not be changed during the game to deceive opponents." A team caught doing so will be assessed a 15-yard penalty and "flagrant offenders shall be disqualified."

USC has said that since the jersey was switched before the game, it does not represent a violation of NCAA game rules.

But between the jersey switch, the deflated game balls and USC's disappointing year on the field, you have to wonder what athletic director Pat Haden thinks of the work Kiffin and his staff have put in during the 2012 season.

I had planned to watch and something came up that I missed it. Oregon has a very good team this year, and I try to follow true freshman, Bralon Addison, since he graduated from Hightower in Fort Bend county. He was an outstanding quarterback who is now playing as a wide receiver.

yeah I heard about this, talk about pulling out all the stops. This is what makes Kenjon Barner performance even greater, despite adversity & all of Southern California against Chip Kelly's Ducks they still prevailed, not only winning but in style without flinching. I also noticed the spots were consistently against the Ducks as well, but it didn't matter. I sure hope we have a truly great National Championship game so you all can see for yourself, Oregon upset Alabama.

On USC note & how Hayden feels about Kiffen, Rivals rates USC recruiting early commitment #1 class in the country. Guess kids just want be Trojans despite douche bag head coach.

That whole ball scandal is hillaroius. Deflationary tactics, and STILL couldn't dance with Oregon.

Shouldn't be rooting for the Ducks as a Huskies fan, but if they can win out and play Bama, that is going to be one heck of a National Championship game.

Has there ever been a more over-hyped bunch of qbs then usc's? I will give them carson pre injury but other than that you have bench talent and sanchez who for whatever reason gets multiple seasons to show no improvement.

It's obvious bark will be drafted way higher than he should be, and I predict qb2 or qb3 for his future.

He was pegged to be the second QB picked last year, but opted to stay for his senior year. A many QB's that go back to school have had bad seasons, just ask Landry Jones.

Well i don't think he will be able to keep up at the next level. Picking him over Rg3 would have been the dumbest pick ever.

Oregon just lost to Stanford. Almost at the same time Kansas State lost to Baylor. That means Notre Dame moves to #1 & probably Alabama #2. What's ironic is the Irish meet the Trojans next week, maybe USC has something to say about all this after all?

In general I'd would rather stay away from offensive USC players with the exception of OL.

Barkley will get picked high, but same thing I felt about Sanchez and Leinart, most likely a product of talent around them and a mediocre conference.

I wouldn't touch ANY USC QB with a first round pick.
