Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game

Who was the best Defensive and Offensive Player for the Texans against the Cowboys?

My picks are

Offense: TE Mark Bruener (Saved the Tony Hollings Fumble to keep the TD drive alive and also had that great catch where he dragged about half the Dallas players along with him for another ten yards)

Defense: Our Rookies (Babin and Robinson, Babin recovered a fumble to give us the ball and Robinson made an interception)

Notables: Tony Hollings and David Carr also had nice games.

Offense: Tie between Carr and Bruener

Defense: Gotta give it to Robinson. He really impressed me. Babin wasn't too shabby either with a sack and a forced fumble, but he looked lost early on in coverage and he was slow to read run/pass. Still a good showing.

Yeah, the two rooks definitely stole the show on defense.

On offense don't forget that hookup for a TD that DC threw to JG.

In sum total it was a well played game by everyone. But, with a shutout, the game-ball has to go to the defense. A very satisfying first game.

It was a nice game & fun 2 watch. Carr looks very sharp! The O-line did a great job at protecting Carr, & help 2 open some holes 4 Hollings. I was a little disappointed at Hollins cuz of the fumbles, he really NEEDS 2 work on this ( 3 fumbles). Bruener (TE) looked great! On the D side, Babin & D.R. looked good. Not bad 4 rookies playin' against Dallas' starter! :thumbup D.J. Ren & Lord played well as rooks. PEEK!!!

Yeah this was a very fun game to be at, I hadn't had this much fun since the Jaxsonville game Carr won on the last play. I can't wait to rub this into my annoying neighborhood friends who insist the Texans are horrible in every way.

wasn't able to watch the game, still mad about that, but say the highlights on sportscenter. they showed babin's sack and fumble, but when did robinson have his int?

He finished with five tackles and a pass defensed. no pick

Offense: Our entire O-line. They gave Carr the chance to do his thing and look what happened.

Defense: Dunta Robinson, went up against a much larger, experienced, more trash talking receiver in Keyshawn Johnson and held his own.

my bad, i guess i read a post wrong, see what happens when you can't watch a game. great start for both rookies and hopefully they can keep it going when the season starts, which can't come soon enough.

offense: the whole offense, played very well against last years #1 defense but I have to give it to Bruener for showing me that he can do more than just block hes a legitamate receiving threat too.

defense: dunta; great first outing , played the passes well and flew around the field. He even talked a little smack to Keshawn, he gets major points for that because everyone knows Keyshawn has a big mouth. :boxing:

Hollings would get my offensive POG if not for the fumbles. Instead, I am going to give it to the offensive line for giving Carr time to throw and for opening up holes in the running game for Hollings.

On defense, there is no doubt that Dunta Robinson was the man. He should have been credited with an interception rather than pass interference when he broke in front of Meshawn. That was an outstanding play. He also did well in breaking up the downfield pass and had some good tackles. We have definitely added a playmaker to our defense.

He would of last year, but not this year with the new rule. So this year, he shoulden't of been credited with a pick. On another play however, a LB swatted the ball away, and if anyone saw Dunta had jumped infront of Keyshawn and looked like he might of gotten a pick if the LB haden't swatted it away.

Offensive-Seth Wand-Big man did really well. First game and he didn't allow a sack and look at when he was in how many runs went for a loss.

Defensive-Dunta Robinson-Took some talk from Keyshawn and threw it right back in his face. Had more tackels than Sean Taylor or DeAngalo Hall (the two dbs taken over him in draft). Did very well.

Others-Faggins, Babin, Carr and Gaffney

I don't think they will call that a penalty in the regular season. They are making it a point of emphasis to cut down on the amount of contact defenders can get away with after 5 yards and are admittedly calling more things in the preseason than they will in the regular season. By any definition of pass interference, Robinson's pick was clean.
