Texans radio network is a bit lacking for coverage

Usually at least once a year I end up traveling on a gameday, and today was the day this year.

The radio coverage of anywhere outside of Houston is pretty spotty, and it looks like they lost the Austin affiliate they had in the past. The 2 San Antonio area affiliates they have seem to have a range of about 20 feet, and the same can be said for the Alpine affiliate as well. There is a huge hole in coverage in central and west Texas as well.

Nothing new really, just a rant to make me feel better, it annoys me when you can pick up Cowboys games all over the state yet have to hunt for the Texans.

I'm in Salt Lake City, and I have double coverage through either the Houston Texans app or the radio.com app for my smart phone. There are many different ways to get Texans coverage in 2012.

That's an option when you have good cell phone coverage. The problem is coverage in Texas outside of the big cities can be very spotty, and I regularly go into roaming mode on my Verizon phone. I know that satellite is also an option but I'd rather listen to the hometown call.

I was Near Garner State Park hunting. I left the stand in time so I could go listen to the game on my phone, but I did not have 3G I had E ( what ever that is) I did DVR it. Just got home and watching it now. I didn't listen to any sports radio on the way home so the game would be a suprise, but my daughter called me on the way home and the first thing she said was THE TEXANS WON!!!! ( like they should have). She was in her Dorm watching Act of valor, so I told her how it ended. Since she told me the out come. Ha Ha.
On the plus side I can eat back strap while watching the next game. Life is good!!!

SiriusXM usually has both calls (home and away) for NFL games and also the national call for primetime games (Sunday night, Monday Night).

Got to listen to Atlanta beat up on the Cowgirls while driving home last night.

I agree, I'm up in northern Texas and there's really no radio coverage up here at all. Wish more affiliates would pick them up.

Try 550 am out of Midland/Odessa. It has a big signal that even makes it all the way up here.
